I grew up in church and was very sheltered until highschool. That’s when I started to stray away from it. I came back to Christ after I graduated but, there’s nothing else out there. I learned that very quick. Life is just not worth living w/o Christ being the center. It’s incredibly lonely!
    Loved today’s message! 🤍

Thanks, Amber, for discussing a difficult topic. I agree with you. James 2:26 says, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." Actions must back up our words. That only happens with a humble, willing, and obedient heart. I enjoy your Sunday morning words of wisdom. Keep them coming.

I agree. Sometimes it's hard to stop and small the roses but then God does something to help with that. This happened when we lost power and my family and I actually had some good family times when we spent time talking to each other because we couldn't do much of anything else.

You brought sunshine into my day! I have often questioned as to whether or not I am truly saved. I made a profession of faith at age 9, but until Oct 4th of 1998 did I become sold out to Christ. I will be 75 this year...it took a lot of knocks and bangs to get my heart right!

Good word Amber. I dont do this very often but I ask for prayer today. My wife has been hurting in her side for a few months not. Not the gall bladder or liver and she goes in for a colonoscopy tomorrow and I just hope and pray we finally get answers and some sort of treatment to take the pain away. Totally agree. I have a very similar testimony friend. It was after the passing of my mom. I thought I was saved at 8 but truly lived in sin most of my life without having Christ in mind. Forever changed now and continue to press forward in great faith after my truly receiving Christ into my heart June 2020, now 35 years old. ❤ Ignited a passion for God that I never expected. I can't go a day without his word or exercising my faith in him.. Love your testimony. Thank you for sharing.

@@TheSmithsTV Bless you, Amber for your words in today's Arise. For I believe in what you said, about how just cuz we may be saved, doesn't mean we can go on sinning and not repent for it, or change our ways. Cuz to me, that would be like taking for granted The Lord's sacrifice in all that Jesus went thru to save us in the first place. It would be kind of like, a misbehaving sibling, where one sibling "broke the vase", for example, yet instead of taking personal responsibility for "breaking the vase", knowing we'd be punished for it, we let the other sibling take the punishment, without a second thought or care that they got hurt and punished for our actions. I don't know, it seems like, if that was the case, then it would be like thumbing our nose at all Jesus went thru, and goes thru to save us, and bring us along on the path to God.

Salvation is a gift from God; unfortunately, not one everyone accepts. When you are truly following Christ, than you do His works; you follow His words. Yes, followers still sin, but when they do, they turn to Him and seek forgiveness and repent. Great episode. Great testimony. Bless you for being such an inspiration. ❤️🦋🙏

Amber, Thank you so much for starting this segment on the Smiths. I have been a country music fan all my life and worked in the music business for almost 40 years. I know that life very well. I want to take a minute to tell you that you literally saved me with this video from something I never thought would enter my mind. Doing harm to myself, That is hard to say but with COVID-19 I have not been able to get out of this dark place. I was angry at God and making excuses for why I needed to find fault with my life. As I watched your channel I came across the story of River which like most people I had heard on the news a few years back. I had not connected the dots that this was your family until 2:00 am when I was alone in my home office in complete despair. I watched maybe 50 of your families videos and then started to watch these "Arise With Amber" It changed me the moment I saw you pray at the beginning of this video. I have always loved the lord, but I was being tested. That is all gone now and I am born again in his spirit and I wanted to thank you for giving me that hope. I know this is a long one and you will likely not have time to read it but if you do please know that you do make a difference. Thank you Amber for making me see Jesus in my life again. I feel the burden has been lifted. I write quotes and working on a new book. This one is for you.:
To Amber, Granger, London and Lincoln
"It is easy to become cynical in a world that often seems to test us both mentally and physically, to challenge our beliefs and to set us on a course of personal and collective destruction. But it is my hope that despite all the negativity and adversity that surrounds us, we might rise above it all and greet each new day with a sense of optimism and hope. It has been said "There will be no crown bearers in heaven who are not cross bearers on earth." I am reminded of an old Chinese proverb that best describes these daily trials: "A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials" Adversity is a fact of life. It can't be controlled. What we can control however is how we react to it. After all the roots of a tree and its weakness are only revealed after the storm has passed! I am a tall oak, strong and sturdy and although sometimes battered and naturally pruned, I will live yet another span of time and give birth to yet another season of growth. ~ George Wheeler (Fitting for the moment)

I just found your channel. This happened to be my first video watched after seeing the KID and Granger video. I feel I was meant to hear your message. I lost my 23 year old son in 2017. To go through that struggle and come out the other side was difficult. I felt like I was being punished for something I did. I was angry at God for taking my son. It took me a while to process our loss and have faith again. I now know that the Lord is caring for my son now. My husband and I are strong and are never going to give up. We have 2 daughters in their 20's that we have to be here for. We are blessed and thankful to enjoy them. Thank you for your message. Bless you and your family.

I just saw this video (a year late) but I was raised in a church that did not believe in once saved, always saved, but I really think they believed that a person could “backslide” and go back to their old sinful ways and would need to confess their sins again to the Lord. I personally believe that we cannot lose our salvation but we do need to confess our sins daily to the Lord. We all fall short, but we all, as believers, have one common goal and that is to live with Christ in heaven one day. God bless you Amber. I really enjoy your Sunday devotionals. Keep up the good work for Christ.

Love this!! I was 14 or 15 when I thought I was saved. I really wanted to be but I let the ways of the world influence me. It wasn’t until 2 years ago at 45, when my marriage came crashing down, that I realized I was never truly saved. Luckily through our faith, God restored our marriage. For me that’s when my heart was truly transformed. I know now I am save because of how differently I see things now. This was a great message!! Thank you! Thank you to your family for your openness about your faith and your struggles. You have been a great example for me to follow.

I did the same thing when I was 14. I heard the preacher repeatedly say the son of God died for my sin and I struggled with the son part wanting to know if he was God. Any time I asked I got more confused because they didnt let me think it was. They kept saying he is the son of God! Never did they say he was God in the flesh. I say this because I believed he died for me but confusion came. Confusion is of the devil. He took me a drift. Wisdom is: becoming knowledgeable! When you know something it is now wisdom. I struggled even to this day was I saved??? I believe I was, I had no knowledge of some of what it all meant. As the Holy Spirit built my knowledge My eyes would open to even more and that is knowledge becoming wisdom. That is the old person leaving as the new man is put on. The new man is the wisdom. Full of knowledge. This is why I continually learn, grow, and that brings wisdom. The Lord said suffer the children to come. Allow them. When you’re a child, you aren’t all understanding and all knowing. I came I said I accept him, but then as I grew I didn’t stay in the word and I got entangled by the weeds, it chocked me, and when I thirsted again for the living water, I blossomed and will continue to blossom until he comes for me. He knows his. So I believe I was saved. I just had no knowledge, and knowledge grows by his word and wisdom filled me which is my daily walk. No one fed me, I didnt eat, I perceived right from wrong, and carried on, but the Lord drew me! I became wiser, and his seed sprang forth! His seed was always there but was not fed or watered. He was and is alive. He was always in me since that day I believed. I just didn’t understand it completely. Thats just how I see it.

This was very helpful. The comparison between a husband and wife and how it’s one thing to commit but then there’s the living it out, which either validates the vows or we break covenant. Great example!! ❤❤

The late Adrien Rogers said that being saved does not prevent us from sinning. Being saved means we will no longer be able to enjoy our sins. So if you can still sin and enjoy those sins as you did before you were saved........you are not saved. Sinning after you are saved does NOT feel good. The feeling ranges from discomfort to full on pain, sickness and misery. It can literally drive you crazy and into a seriously depressed state. Good job with this Amber!

Bless you for your conviction of truly being saved or not. I love the marriage analogy which is very relatable. I also said Yes to Jesus in my teen years but it wasn’t until I was 40 with so much brokenness and pain that I surrendered from living for myself and turned to live for Jesus. His Grace has transformed my heart, healed, set me free, and empowered me NOT to live in sin. However it is an ongoing process of walking in faith and growing in Jesus. ❤️❤️❤️

And to comment on your message today- I completely agree that you're supposed to say your vows and live by those spoken words. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't. I'm single for this reason. I want someone who will want me and only me. Someone that will speak those vows and keep their eyes on OUR JOURNEY, not focus their eyes outside the windows of the strong foundation we build.

I totally agree! The key word is TRULY. Some think they were saved but actually got caught up in an emotional moment and really didn’t understand what it meant. To say that one can lose their salvation is saying that Christ’s death on the cross was not enough. We know that is not true. It is not by our works but only by His sacrifice and our belief and acceptance. Belief alone is not enough. Satan believes, he knows but will not be entering the kingdom of heaven.

I thank you for your words. I know when I was first saved it was in my head where I spoke the words but my actions did not always follow my words. Today I am truly saved because my actions and words match.

If I may comment from the Scriptures on your comment... Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10 tell us "the dead know not any thing ... neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. ... There is no knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave". Many believe that when a person dies they go directly to heaven (or, God have mercy - to hell). But the Bible doesn't teach this. As Solomon - the wisest man that ever lived - clearly stated above, when a person dies, he has no more thoughts and nothing to do with this earth any longer by God's grace and mercy.
Think of it like this, if someone close to you passed and then your life took a terrible turn and lots of misery came your way, how much joy and happiness would your deceased loved one have witnessing your suffering?
Think of the opposite too. If a person lived a godly life for most of their days, but made some bad decisions from which they never had time to confess because of their untimely death, is it a loving God who would sentence that person to an eternity of torture? The God that I serve - the God of the Bible - would NEVER do such a thing. That would make Him far more evil than Satan!
The Bible teaches that death is a sleep - a peaceful, dreamless sleep. At the resurrection of the righteous when Jesus comes again (which is soon!), scripture says: "and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (1 Thess. 4: 16). What sense does it make if the righteous dead are already in heaven to have them stuffed back into the grave so they can be resurrected and return to heaven??? It doesn't. Further, Rev. 22:12 tells us that when Jesus returns "His reward is with Him". His reward is everlasting life, or everlasting punishment. No where in scripture does it say that a person goes directly to heaven (or hell) at death.
Want further scriptural evidence? Read what is said of (King) David in the New Testament. Of all the Bible personalities that we expect to make it into heaven, David would certainly be among them, for the Bible refers to David as "a man after God's own heart". (See 1 Samuel 13:14 & Acts 13:22). But in this passage, Paul clearly states that "David is not yet risen into the heavens." (Acts 2:29, 34, 35).
Also, on resurrection morning, when Mary Magdalene recognizes that she is speaking with her beloved Lord, she wants to hug Him, but Jesus says to her : "Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father" (John 20:17). Jesus died Friday afternoon and this was Sunday morning, and He says that even He has not yet gone to heaven. So the Bible makes it perfectly clear that the dead DO NOT communicate with the living.
By the way, a reassuring footnote regarding hell: people do NOT suffer for ever. Most don't even suffer for a great length of time. Consider what Malachi prophesizes the righteous will do in the earth made new: "And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet" (Malachi 4:3). Ezekiel confirms this: "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Malachi 18:20). Even the beloved disciple, John, wrote in the most quoted scriptural verse in the Bible: "...that whosoever believeth in Him should not PERISH, but have everlasting life." (3:16). It is not the burning that is eternal - it is the final death experienced in the lake of fire that is eternal. (See Romans 6:23 The wicked suffer "death"; Psalms 37:20 will "perish"; Psalm 37:20 will "vanish away" + many, many more references!) Jude 1:7 compares hell to the "eternal fire" of Sodom and Gomorrah. Are Sodom and Gomorrah still burning today? NO. Neither will hell burn forever - but its results in destroying sin and the sinful will be forever. Praise God!

When I was 9 I thought I was saved just because I said the sinner’s prayer. My life never changed after that. But a few years ago when my life was falling apart and I looked back on my life, I was in agony and in total remorse about the way I handled my life, I realised that I wasn’t saved. I am 56 now and have been a true Believer for the past 3 years. Because I finally understood what it meant to be saved. I thought I had to get my act together before I came to God. Truth is God will meet you where you are and change you. Love watching you grow in your walk. God bless!

So well said Amber! Get in God's word and seek His word for answers. A saving faith is a continuing faith! I knew that I wanted to "KNOW" that I was going to heaven, I didn't want to "HOPE" I was going to heaven. So, I knew I had to examine my heart and life and not "kidd myself"! There would be no sadder words to hear when I one day meet the Lord and for him to say "depart from me for I NEVER KNEW YOU"! So, yes, I examined myself and made sure of my salvation and I am continuing to follow HIM!

I believe that salvation comes to us at an early age as we understand His word. I believe that being saved is one thing and learning and walking in His word is another. The later is most important icontinue so that we grow closer to Him and understand His word.

God places a desire in our heart for all of Himself: God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit.
He will continue to reveal all His attributes so we can see the fullness of Him. Seek him and you will find Him.

Thank you, Amber for inviting comments and thoughts. You mentioned that there are many differing ‘opinions’ on the internet regarding the truth of “once saved, always saved”. You are so very right on this point - but, as you and your listeners know, we don’t go to the internet for truth - we turn to God’s Word. Paul writes the this about the faithful followers in Berea: “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11). So, like the Bereans, we must roll up our sleeves and set about searching the scriptures to find exactly what the truth is on such an important matter. And we must take care not to rest our conclusion on one or two scriptures which seems to agree with our preconceived notions. If we are to discover truth, we must go to all scripture on a topic and study out what God’s message is saying. Too many false doctrines have crept into churches because this practice has not been followed.
You spoke in terms of being lost, being saved, and being truly saved, but the Bible does not give three categories. God’s Holy Word clearly speaks of only two conditions: everlasting life or perishing (See John 3:16); sheep and goats (See Matthew 25:31-46); wheat and tares (See Matthew 13:24-30), unjust/filthy versus the righteous/holy (See Revelation 22:11). Almost but not completely saved, means to be not almost but completely lost. There is no neutral territory.
And the real question you raised was, “Once you are saved, are you saved forever?”. You gave many beautiful scriptural verses in your Arise message. I would like to draw your attention to two other passages which will, perhaps, answer the question clearly. Consider, if you will, Ezekiel 18:20-28 and 2 Peter 2:20-21. Both of these state unequivocally that if one turns away from righteousness that he will receive the reward of the wicked. Therefore, we must conclude that there is no such thing in the Word of God as unconditional election-once in grace, always in grace.
May we all strive to be as the noble Bereans! God bless.

Our faith is continually challenged throughout our lives. If a time comes that one truly has a change in the heart, there is no more desire to do evil. Before that, we are introduced to the concept, but have not grasped that we are not capable of making the best choices for ourselves yet, that we want to choose His way, and will ask what his will is, and will work to create an environment where His will can be done more readily.
