There was some chat previously about how much a million dollars will actually be worth in real terms. I think we landed on around 470k Dollars taking the devaluation of the dollar into account. It's still an amazing return.
yes this is true, however if you have 1mil in debt that debt will stay the same no matter how the fiat degrades....so if you make a mil your debt/mortgage is gone
Trouble is most 'experts' were calling for a 200k plus BTC this cycle and we didn't get close to this. Would love a 500k plus in 2030 but its definitely not a given IMO.

I made the same mistake in 2017/18. Bought Alts at the peak and no BTC thinking BTC was too expensive. Watched them go down, bought more to watch them go down further. I got destroyed eventually sold when they were worth very little. Now I’m mostly BTC and still losing, just not as much. Believe this will turnaround. Perhaps you should take a loss on your Alts and buy BTC and maybe ETH. Good luck
Great video. Just one thing I’m confused about. At 12:27, you are mentioning after split you would need less shares to reach target. Wouldn’t that be other way around. If you’re buying post split, you need to multiply needed shares by the split x.
Hey James if it was a 5:1 split and 45 shares needed per ARK to be a millionaire in 2030, I think it would be 45x5 or 225 shares of the cheaper Tesla stock, not 10 correct?

Love the conviction! I think if you went 1/3 TSLA, 1/3 AMZM, 1/3 GOOGL that would eliminate some risk, with still good returns. Apple & Microsoft are also safe bets that will make good returns in the next 3-5 years. But, boring and not as sexy. I also own Tesla, but being so heavily weighted in 1 equity makes me nervous. But, definitely most upside. I actually think Bitcoin is less risky than Tesla….
Yea i agree Bitcoin seems riskier than Tesla but that means higher potential reward. Bitcoin, tesla, google, amazon, nvidia and ethereum are my top assets which is why i love this channel. I think theyr all great to own for the long term but your allocation into each depends on your risk tolerance and conviction for each one

Right around 5:30 James says "remember as well there will be about 20.5 million Bitcoin that will be minted by the year 2030 and only a half million left for the next 110 years after that". I'm confused, I thought there would only ever be 14,000,000 Bitcoin ever and it was this scarcity that would give it in part its value. What am I getting wrong?
I think you might be underestimating the Ford Lightning. It will be priced to compete with the Model 3 and Americans love pickups. People who never considered buying a pickup will be interested because it doesn't have any of the maintenance and fuel drawbacks of ICE pickups. If Tesla is so great why is it taking so long to produce one pickup?

So here's the tip of the day. If you believe in Tesla as I do, open a Roth IRA and buy shares for your Roth. Holding for 5 years means no capital gains tax obligation, and since James models holding to 2030, no problem. I've got Tesla in my Roth, and I have patience. Worst case, my heirs inherit a big bag!
Great analysis as always James however you aren't considering how much of Teslas market share will be taken up by competitors. As much as people love Tesla there are many people who want variety and want EVs from other makes. Just look at the sales of Fords Mach E, it's clearly inferior to the Tesla , but because people seek variety in aesthetic among other things, the sales of the Mach E are through the roof. Ford will come out with the Lightning pick up truck , and other makes are positioned to release several EVs by 2030. Teslas astronomical growth is destined to slow down, however I do agree that their other products and services can allow them to keep their edge.

ARK is predicting that you will need to hold 45 shares in 2030 to be a millionaire. That would be the share count AFTER the split later this year. Therefore 10 shares today will become 50 in August and those 50 will be all you need to hold to reach the target.
Your prediction shows BTC outpacing TSLA by a lot in the next 8 years. However, MSTR has been trading at a 40% discount from its value in Bitcoin holdings alone, making it obviously undervalued. Why aren't you more invested in MSTR? If you believe in triple digit BTC growth, then MSTR is going to be an extremely rich company in the future. Do you not think that Microstrategy's future BTC profits will be worth as much as Tesla's future sales revenues? Are you concerned about MSTR's leveraged long position and liquidation potential?
Also very bullish on btc and tesla. Only thing that I don’t understand in the calculations is that every year the numbers go up but what about the expected bear market starting from around 2027/2028?

Don’t expect Tesla to be the only EV player. Hyundai (and Chinese players) will probably have more than Tesla in the near future, they are not sitting still either, going full EV & FSD. Sure Tesla has a head-start, but the lead is getting smaller by the day.
Why do you assume in the Tesla bear case a higher PE in 2030 (35) than for the expected case (30)? Also a PE of 35 for an expected growth rate of 10% in 2030 seems quite high for the bear case. I liked that you accounted for share dilution. BTC: gold did almost nothing in the last 10 years. Why now 8% per year? Where do these numbers come from?
Great video as always James, The one calculation that might Need a tweak is the Foss prediction, because he stated that his prediction is based in today’s dollars. So he actually is predicting much more than 2 million. Much appreciation for all you do.
I like your content but if you allow me I think any 2030 target is pointless since we already have a hard time to forecast what could happen in the next 6 month. Early this year your forecast on BTC and Tesla was already very bullish and they both collapsed and unfortunately the bear market is probably not over. Tesla is a great company but with such a high P/E any bad news and it can be crashed. So yes I would definitely take a small positon in Tesla at some point but would not recommend anyone to have 80% of his/her wealth in one single company and definitely not Tesla.
I hope I'm wrong, but I cannot see BTC @ $500k by 2030. The reality is that crypto is very much susceptible to global issues. There's no real end in sight for inflation or interest rates, which was the very real possibility of leading to a global recession. The supply chain crisis will not be resolving anytime soon. The conflict in Ukraine will not resolve anytime soon. We have an impending global food shortage in 12-18mths, that will not resolve whilst Ukraine conflict is continuing. I'm factoring in the current bear market to last until at least Q1 of 2024...

But we are facing some of the craziest times in human history and as of today, there is no clear road ahead :/

Much harder to predict short-term movements than long-term. Short-term movements come from sentiment and are hugely influenced by emotions and media. Long-term movements will come down to fundamentals and are much less irrational.

tesla is good but it could have direct competition, globalizing Chinese car market or another company in USA, BTC doesnt have direct competition, quantum computers might change the game way before 2030

Why do you assume in the Tesla bear case a higher PE in 2030 (35) than for the expected case (30)? Also a PE of 35 for an expected growth rate of 10% in 2030 seems quite high for the bear case. I liked that you accounted for share dilution.

I like your content but if you allow me I think any 2030 target is pointless since we already have a hard time to forecast what could happen in the next 6 month. Early this year your forecast on BTC and Tesla was already very bullish and they both collapsed and unfortunately the bear market is probably not over. Tesla is a great company but with such a high P/E any bad news and it can be crashed. So yes I would definitely take a small positon in Tesla at some point but would not recommend anyone to have 80% of his/her wealth in one single company and definitely not Tesla.
I hope I'm wrong, but I cannot see BTC @ $500k by 2030. The reality is that crypto is very much susceptible to global issues. There's no real end in sight for inflation or interest rates, which was the very real possibility of leading to a global recession. The supply chain crisis will not be resolving anytime soon. The conflict in Ukraine will not resolve anytime soon. We have an impending global food shortage in 12-18mths, that will not resolve whilst Ukraine conflict is continuing. I'm factoring in the current bear market to last until at least Q1 of 2024...

Short term price is irrational, whereas long term is based on fundamentals and is much easier to predict with numbers. Not comparable.
@@cland4140 agreed, however, the last 6yrs have been relatively stable from both a geopolitical and global economics sense. Honestly, I hope I am wrong, I'll profit extremely well if I am!! But we are facing some of the craziest times in human history and as of today, there is no clear road ahead :/
He has 80% of his stock portfolio in Tesla, which is 1/3 of his overall portfolio, the other 1/3's are crypto and real estate so really he has about 27% of his wealth in tesla, plus he has pointed out the p/e is like 30 with a growth rate of 60% so PEG ratio is low, like value stock level, he believes that the analysts don't properly value it

How can you predict or speculate on 2030 when you don’t know where the market is going this week. You’re brilliant James and I respect the hell out of you, but really?
Modeling various future scenarios is prudent when investing, budgeting, starting a business, etc.
Much harder to predict short-term movements than long-term. Short-term movements come from sentiment and are hugely influenced by emotions and media. Long-term movements will come down to fundamentals and are much less irrational.

tesla is good but it could have direct competition, globalizing Chinese car market or another company in USA, BTC doesnt have direct competition, quantum computers might change the game way before 2030
