Kurtis, thanks for a great video. Sorry I haven't been on streams as much, my Mom is very ill & I've been taking care of her as much as I can. More grateful now than ever for comics & channels like yours that give a fun escape from the craziness of life. Thanks brother. Blessings ❤🙏
I second that you absolutely must pick up the Sandman Mystery Theatre Compendium volume 1 that was released recently under the DC Black Label banner. It was formerly a Vertigo title in the 90s. Written by Matt Wagner and Stevene T. Seagle with art by Guy Davis. It's one of the great comic runs.
I picked that up a few months ago off eBay for less than half the cover price. And although I haven't even begun to read it yet I really hope they put out the second compendium. Because they never did finish the trades either.
@@Doopy_Huckleberry I had the whole run in singles because I was reading it when it came out, but I sold off my entire collection ages ago. This and the Starman Compendiums have been godsends as I rebuild in trades, hardcovers, and omnis. I REALLY hope we get the second one as well.
In terms of the mapping a bit higher page count on both Thor books, putting all of JMS in the first one and adding Avengers Prime that happens immediately after Siege to the second one might have been a neater split.
I strongly dislike they way they're handling events for the Modern Epics. I understand not wanting to print the same event in a dozen different books but there needs to be some indication of what happened in the event/a note of when to read the event. As it is now its a mess, and the appeal of Epics for me is that it's easy to follow mapping. Marvel really could do more to make this less of an issue for readers.
I really like silver age Green Lantern, I found it a but better written than The Flash. Pieface's name is unfortunate but the character is treated with respect in the stories. He's a reliable friend, smart, a good family man and saves the day a few times. The racism doesn't extend much beyond his name, thankfully. Hellblazer trades are long out of print and very expensive now. There were 26 in total, a bit thinner than a DC's Finest volume so maybe they can make them thicker and get them out in a few less books. Some volumes, like 20 are $300+ one Bay now, and they're actually selling stuff that price so demand seems to be there.

Very excited for all of these, thank you!

If you need any more reasons, Sandman Mystery Theatre Annual #1, which is in the Compendium, has Alex Ross' first DC comics work.

I hope volume 2 gets announced soon. I enjoyed the first half of the series, and I am curious how the second half plays out.
Hey Kurtis. If I'm not mistaken the JLA/JSA team ups took place 20 times over the run of Justice League of America Vol. 1.
Wow! Was more than I thought!
Gillen's JiM carried on the numbering from this Thor run alongside Fraction taking over a renumbered Thor.

Great Books all round
88$ in New Zealand for DC Finest

Good to hear re: Pieface.
