    What a guy, takes the broken paddle, and drags everyone over the log! and makes it all look easy.

    Those have to be some of the cleanest lines I've ever seen. While I can only run some class IV stuff, one of these days I dream of being able to paddle at that level.

    You're not just an awesome boater but clearly also a very social paddling buddy, offering to paddle with someone else's broken paddle and towing so many of your group onto the beach and over that strainer. Tip my hat to you!
    What happened to that part of the gorge? Looks like a pretty massive landslide came down there.

      Yeah I think that portage has been there a while, just some huge landslide happened at some point

    Does anyone know if those drops are still runnable?

      It's been closed off to the public since the fire. It's a popular hiking trail as well and no one has been in there (legally, at least).

      Unfortunately it’s still closed off while the area recovers from the fires a few years ago.

      You should google the name of the falls and the creek listed in the title of the video. It's amazing how internet search works.

      find a local whitewater club for some intro instruction.....where are you located?

  • @gabrielm.4554

    As a climber, and one that interacts with plenty of river rats- it blows my mind just how much boaters embellish fall heights. 80 FoOtEr DoOD!

      @danejacksonkayak  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha some people definitely exaggerate at times, I’ll give you that. Not this one though

      Dane Jackson your fall is right around 2 seconds, that’s not 80 feet

      No way in hell is that 80ft. That would be at least 8 boats high.

      @@quicknuclearscience yes, because Wikipedia is soooo accurate. Remember- anyone can edit it.

    No helmet- not wise

    • @davidbayles6494
      @davidbayles6494 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do realize the camera is mounted on his helmet? He's in a basic flatwater section. Dane is one of the most safety conscious boaters out there. I'm not sure of your concern?
