The reader must be made aware that almost all chips we consume today are fabricated in Taiwan. Manufacturing Micro chips is very very tough task. And any time China can annex Taiwan. Free only for basic things like - Basic rice, Education, and Health. Rest the of the thing should be promoted that citizens give themselves by providing infra. The prime example is the middle class can themselves provide for electricity or TV.

I also agree. I'm eager for the vedanta chip manufacturing, which is taking advantage of china + 1. Admittedly this will give jobs only to some of the most highly educated in india, but it will improve India's own capability and ecosystem in the long run. It is a problem if the MNRGEA was stopped to fund this which wasn't the case.
China really subsidized all industry and urbanized their workforce enabling them to control poverty much better.
Moreover more industrialisation of the country will pull the extra workforce from agriculture, thus leading to growth of the country

The issue is nor with the Government nor with the opposition. It's with people who tend to fulfill their short term greed in return of future of their generations and future of the country.
Just a quick example: I have been living in the UK for a month now, I was surprised when I saw there are many tube station (Metro stations) where there is no security and no gates to stop you.
It's on you will to tap your card for billing or not. I see everyone pays because they know if they don't pay their public transportation might vanish maybe not now but in future.
So, it's the public who decides the future of a country not politicians.
There are likely surprise checks and so on. Its not worth jumping the fare.

In states like Andhra Pradesh, the government officials and the local leaders of the ruling party are threatening the beneficiaries of these welfare/revadis if they are not attending the meetings conducted by the government or the ruling party.
These people are basically saying if the beneficiaries wouldn't attend the meeting where the local ruling MLA, minister or CM is coming, they would not continue to receive the benefit.
In my view this is the latest form of slavery.

Situation of Punjab has actually become hilarious, the High Court has been slamming the Punjab govts' policy after policy since they themselves don't know how to fulfill the stupidest of promises like giving 1000 to every single women of punjab. And it's not about literate/illeterate, rich or poor because in Delhi even the most educated people taking home a decent salary claim their share of free electricity, so this Revdi culture is not going anywhere unless the people themselves gain some morality and because we are all Indians this is a distant dream.

Tamil Nadu has given most freebies and is still the most financially sound state in the country. Maharashtra and Gujarat are in terrible condition outside the major cities. Rural areas are in pathetic condition, many farmer suicides are reported every year. Tamil Nadu gave the concept of Midday meal scheme. Idiots like you could have called it a freebie back then, but now we know how successful it has been in bringing the kids to school. Ours is a welfare state and the state has to provide the minimum to its people.

I am in Delhi, didn’t get free electricity neither free wifi. On other side yes government schools infrastructure is developed in my area but freebie culture is dangerous and unfortunately people don’t understand this
The subsidy for chip manufacturing can't be considered a freebie since it has the potential of creating well paid jobs, which will have multiplier effect. Govt will more in taxes than it is giving away now unlike free water, free electricity and OPS.
Similarly providing basic quality education to children cannot be considers as freebie

Delhi's infrastructure too has suffered, Kejri has distributed subsidies and freebies and has been unable to develop Delhi's infrastructure. Did not buy a single bus for 7 years so had to bring in cluster buses (private leased buses run by earlier blue line operators) and then could only buy new buses after FAME scheme of central government - WHY? He made DTC tickets free for women, government's capex fund because opex (operational expense)
Similarly, because he spent on Mohalla clinics, he could not develop hospitals or create high intensive care units. During Covid this fucked Delhi up as Mohalla clinics shut down and were of no use.
When it comes to schools, he spends on sending teachers to Singapore but not on hiring new teachers or building schools, Delhi has an immense shortage of teachers

No it's not. That's just plain old govt controlled economy you're talking about. It's not ideal for the govt to offer jobs because 1) they won't have the necessary revenue to fill up all the vacancies in the govt. There are thousands of vacancies in govt and the reason they are not filled is because the government simply won't be able to afford paying that salary monthly to its employees 2) the salary often gets burnt up by the rate of inflation 3) its not the govt job to give jobs directly, their job is to make the environment job friendly (deregulating so that businesses can thrive and prosper, leading to job creation)
Giving the govt responsibility to directly hand out jobs to people is dangerous because one supplier of jobs for any country is an unreliable model.
Also why would you want govt to give you everything that you mentioned? They will use it against you by making you ultra dependent on them and then dictating your life
(China's social credit system, if implemented in conditions you mentioned which is govt giving food, education etc, then the govt can easily force you to not speak out against their policy changes or criticize them since you're heavily dependent on the govt)

TBH AAP's victory in Punjab and Delhi cannot be attributed to 'Revdi' alone. In both these states there was a political vacuum which AAP filled in. It will be interesting to see if their magic works in Gujarat. They will ofcourse be a strong opposition leader since that position is also has a power vacuum due to Congress' ineptness. But if they can upset BJP in their stronghold assembly seats, then that will be momentous.

I sincerely request all Indians to educate where it is possible not to fall for freebies. Freebies will destroy our country and drag back another 50 yrs of development. Getting essentials at a very affordable price is completely different to the Freebie traps set by any political party for their own benefits. Political parties should promise on creating equal opportunities and focus on infrastructure development, if a youth is unemployed look at bringing jobs & investments into the country. Don't give a single paisa just because they are unemployed. Some lessons can be learnt from China's development but we are a democratic country and having a leader with a long term vision for the growth of India is another biggest challenge for us.

The freebies are distributed from the revenue earned from the public themselves. Hence the Delhi government is the only state government in whole of India who are in surplus revenue even after distributing freebies. What's the problem in tax payers getting their money back like this? Way better than corrupt political parties using it for their sake and to buy MLAs, you are in which side ?

One thing to consider with free tickets for women in tamilnadu is really not good. The tickets are dirt cheap for years and years and passes are available.
Also because they don't earn commissions from female ticket sales, many buses don't stop near female colleges etc and just avoid them even though it's a valid stop.

Nothing comes free. It's government duty to ensure quality Education and Healthcare, and basic necessity are available for free as we citizens are already burdened with taxes.

When giving something free to ppl we worry too much about our countrys future, finance and righteousness. But we have a closed eye for corruption, organized corruption, debt for each state(who didn't give freebies), monopoly in business, black money, bank wave off loans for corporate
Some basic requirements ok to be provide by government, but goverment should invest more money to brig buisness which directly and indirectly improves economic status of people. Giving things for free will only impact peoples mindset and they will never go to earn break and butter with same positive mindset.
I think there should be supreme court rule on free bee. State only can spend according to there budget and if state borrowing loan there should be valid reason for spending

1 - Everything requires capital or money to produce, so freebies doesn't work.
2 - Moreover how can we make sure that the freebies won't be explored by people who can afford them?
3 - Freebies won't motivate people to earn more.
4 - The taxed money should be used by the government in country's development and public services. So that every citizen, poor or rich can enjoy high standard government services.
I do believe that every citizen of india should have a basic living standard same or even better than developed nations but freebies aren't answer for that.
May be we should increase the minimum wage by Evey employer so that majority of the people can afford basic necessities. Further more, every village should be economically developed.

Your pointing out the freebie issue is appreciable. Although I am a fan of Kejriwal's developments in Delhi, I feel that giving unnecessary freebies will make people use things recklessly as they won't be charged for it. Healthcare, Education, and Free/ minimal cost public transport irrespective of Gender or caste shall benefit the nation's growth. Funds for such programs can be collected from sources like PMCares, CSR Donations, and voluntary donations/investors for such schemes. Maybe some sort of Education stock market or LIC kind of policies are issued which collect funds and repay later to the investors with or without interest.

In my opinion, delhi shouldn't have a legislative assembly in the first place. There should be delhi ministry controlled by central govt to look after delhi. They should pass a law to make it happen asap.
