I wash my hair in the shower first, then throw on a deep conditioner, toss it in a shower cap, and let it do its thing while I do the rest, then rinse it out at the end.

You should wash your face last. As someone who has (had) bad acne, if you wash your hair last, the stuff will stay on your face sightly, which is bad for your skin.

I don't know if other girls do this but I always do my hair first so I can put on a conditioner and shower cap to let it sit. When I am on excavations I just load up my hair with shampoo and use the suds to wash. There's no point trying to get to the middle of nowhere completely shining clean, you'll be sweaty before making it to the site.
