Thank you Chris, I too have wanted a Honda generator for many years. I have friends that bought the Chinese made generators that are a fraction of the price but they have failed to the point of none replaceable within a year or so. There is another channel that was reviewing their 16 year old Honda 2000 and still running well. So you really get what you pay for. BTW, Honda would do well to hire you for instructional videos, you did an amazingly well, especially for newbies. Thank you for your hard work! I appreciated it
There's no way, even the worst Chinese generators will get you 10 years and 800+ hours. Most will last 20 years and 2500+ hours. Always better off with the Chinese stuff these days since they have twice the features, twice the power and only slightly worse longevity, for 65% less money. After 10-12 years, it's time for a new generator anyway since they progress so rapidly in features and power output nowadays. 5 years ago, Honda was a good buy, now it's literally the worst buy you could ever make at those prices. WEN's, Maxpeedingrods and Pulsars run a 30 foot RV, all electronics and AC simultaneously for $450-$550 each, some with dual fuel connection for propane.
Chris, I thank you for your videos, watch the front tire/ break pad video today and now I have a new tire and brake pads. Nice video on the Honda EU2200i Generator. Where do you live I think having you as a next door neighboor would be great. You have all the toys necessary that makes a great neighbor.
I have two of the older EU2000i models from 2008. I added an hour meter that reads off the spark plug wire and change the oil every 100 hours. They both start on the second or third pull. The older models do not allow you to run the carb dry so I drain the carb after every use. The trick to start on the second pull is to turn the switch on and wait 5 minutes to allow the carb to fill up with fuel before trying to start. You will absolutely love your new Honda.
Very useful. Thanks. That fuel shut off is good. I always use a fuel stabilizer and run my things with fuel (snow blower, generator, a couple of 60's classic cars etc) for about 5 minutes no less than every other month if not being used to keep the fuel fresh.
Enjoy your videos. I have that model, not as new; works as advertised. I bought an LP conversion kit (straightforward install), so no hassle with gasoline. We use it to charge batteries & run the A/C when boondocking in our camper.
Great video keep up the good work. I purchased one already love it. I have used it on Dj equipment, had a band of 4 , and recently used it on my Lincoln 125hd welder had no issues also used it at a camping trip. I love my Honda Eu2200 . I would like to purchase the companion to parallel both. Maybe in the future when I truly need the other one.
I have bigger generator that runs off different fuels, but I wanted a small portable gasoline generator that is convenient, I can always add an alternative conversion kit if comes down to it!
@@chriscaliente5033 ah okay. May I ask one more question? Do you have a video of how you are able to record your your conversation off your Cardo please?
It is nice and quiet, usually an engine sound would affect your go pro volume and we wouldn't be able to hear you clearly. Put it in your trailer. Nice review Chris 👍🏽. P.S. have you heard about 2020 to 22 DCT G/wings?
The multiple pulls were due to the amount of time it takes to fill the fuel bowl. If you waited about 2 minutes and then tried to start it would have started on the first pull.
Item EU2200i Companion hasn't been in stock at Home Depot for months and Lowe's doesn't sell this model. And the vendors that claim to have it stock are suspect and crappy vendors, and if you need to return it your stuck paying shipping. I'm so pissed off with Honda generators line and the inability to purchase this model. And to top it off, Honda's newest model EU3200i is not parallel compatible with EU2200i model EU2200ITAN.

I’ve been waiting one of these generators for 10 years, I figure that now is a better time than never, I’m not getting an younger.

Your video is very detailed. Thank you very much.
Very nice demo. Great generator no doubt.
Chris, I am sure you have considered the power bank with inverter such as the Jackery and other brands, why go old school with gas ⛽️ engine?

What's the difference between this one EU 2200I vs and the Honda? 2200 watt companion inverter generator?

great video right to the point. about ready to get one thanks

These gens have a fuel pump. They are not gravity fed. Waiting won't help any for the first start up.
@@phildern6203 It works on mine every time. Perhaps it gravity-feeds even with the pump(?)
I need one of those asap
I love my Honda inverter generator
Get them them the real this is big bo from LA
What gasoline ⛽️ do you use on yours and oil?
What will be your main purpose for this Generator?
To put air in your blowup doll.
