As a fellow musician, i second everything you said about Eloy. The guy is next level, and that doesn't take anything away from Joey or Jay who are both amazing in their own ways, Eloy's just simply ''better'', by definitely being more able technically than both and at least on par with Joey on the creative side of things(i'd personally argue Eloy is more creative). It's nice hearing someone speaking on this from an objective perspective, and not as a fanboy or like the ''Rock pundits" spread through youtube. Good work
Agree with you Eloy is a monster. I saw with Jay live and he was great. However, a lot of his written drum parts IMO are boring. Nero Forte, Sarcastrophe, Birth of the cruel, not long for this world. Just kind of straight forward boring drumming. You have guys like Alex Bent or Mario Duplantier absolutely crushing drumming. Jay is sick but not their level. I think having a member leave is actually a pain between paperwork, artwork, new masks, new this, new that. It’s not always an easy decision. And they never tell us it all. At the end of the day, he wasn’t cutting it anymore. There are rumors on Reddit he was being difficult, changing tempos too much. In this new era there are so many sick drummers on TH-cam, they probably were in talks before making the decision. Jay got so much better since he initially joined, but for their caliber I guess they decided he wasn’t going to do it

It’s sad for him having the rug pulled. But I guess he just goes to show you, he was a hired gun for a great pay cut
