ReOrder - Hands down one of the best dance music teachers out there. He has this technique that is hard to describe but creates an instant understanding of what you are learning. No fluff or bs.
After a 3 year hiatus from composing due to personal issues, I told a mate today that I'm going to get back into it, and am super-curious about Serum. He shot me this link. Liked in 10 seconds, subbed after a minute. After dabbling a little in sound design myself some years ago, I mean... you have just blown my freakin' mind, Good Sir! It hits a point with the instrument where it sounds pretty good, and just 10 seconds later you're like, "Oh Yeah! NOW he's got it!" But no, more work to be done, and more auditory nectar to nourish my ear canals. 20 seconds further on, yet again, it has eclipsed all expectations and you're simply droolling at all the glorious ear-candy. Thanks for the tute, mate! 5 thumbs up! 😅
I've been on trance stages as an MC for about 20 years in the Netherlands, hosting DJ's like Ferry Corsten, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Richard Durand, Jochen Miller, John O'Callaghan, Marco V, Spider, Ummet Ozcan to name a few but am now trying my hand at producing. Really great you share your knowledge like this, respect! Tried my hands on this with Pigments, Equator 2 but finally got it exactly right in Vital. Awesome!
Instead of downloading / Start a textdoc, follow every step and note each knob-position and and Woila.. I got the sound.. THANK YOU REORDER! You are the best! ^^
Just bought Serum to make better trance leads and breaks in the future. Discovered your video and it's really great to follow. Thanks a lot for this tutorial.
Awesome. I recently got back into classic trance stuff from the late 90s/early 2000s and it really speaks to me on such an emotional level. I couldn't quite imitate the sound so well when I tried on my own, so this was massively helpful in being able to recreate some of these iconic sounds. Thank you!
I first started to try and make (trance) music back in 2006. My problem is that I never truly learned the technical stuff about music production. I would imagine that knowing what the different terms means and does, makes everything make more sense (easier to understand). 😅 Didn't know that you could drag and drop like that. Thanks for the tutorial! 😁
I watched the video several times and did everything that was done during the tutorial but my sound does not sound the same. Any idea what I might be missing?
ReOrder you should definitely use DUNE 3 for Trance Saw Leads! You can get very fat Supersaws, and very interesting sounds as well. Also it's very very easy to use.
Just brought the serum pack for trance❤😮 can't wait to cook up something 🔥with them , bargain for £26 ,also subscribed to your channel, your tutorials are easy to follow and helpful thank you sir🙂🔥🔥🔥
Hands down this was awesome to listen too & can’t believe how easy it was to recreate, but can’t see the link for sample pack, I absolutely love ❤️ it. I’m trance producer myself and this saw will take my trance to the next level
Love all your stuff , ever since I heard your guest mix on DJ Phalanx Ep62 pod cast .. I recently started on the journey to make trance music, although I struggle to find as much time as I would like to, I would ❤️ to know more about your Patreon for producers, like what is included each month .. I have 2 of your tutorials (myloops, faderPro) both are brilliant , so thanks for doing those. I love how passionate you are about the music you make, you can see it when you add something and it sounds awesome, you just can't hide your excitement 👐👐👐👐👍🇬🇧👐👐
Thanks for nice comments mate. We hang out on discord with other producers and you get one feedback monthly for you tracks and written advice from all producers including me of course;)
@@reorderdj thanks for the reply, that sounds great , I just need to get some of my tracks closer to the finished product and then I'll be sure to sign up 👍 thanks again!
Hi! I absolutely love your music and tutorials. This one was excellent and I learnt a lot from it. I do have one question. For the cut off to go from the pluck into the saw lead, do you always have to manually increase it, or is there a way for it to automatically increase?
Serum is a really powerful synth, I'd love to learn properly how to make Trance music, it's one genre I've never indulged in, I've put some trance mixes on TH-cam but never actually written my own trance track, you've no idea how much I want to learn how to do this.
reorder no joke man ,your the most down to earth uplifting dj out there ,yoyr a breath of fresh air would love to see you n mister kearny bk to bk ,if the ppl want it lets goooo ,calll the night uplit
Nice, and one technical question. Howe you solve the problem with the CPU/ Mac and streaming? ( i‘m still have the problem, like in your Trance Abelton Tutorial 😭)
Those patches sound great by their own. Obviously, ReOrder had to tweak a lot some existing presets to come with. In the end, you need to know about sound design no matter which DAW or plugins you’re using. And, one patch (instrument) can sound great by its own but needs to be toned down when doing the mixdown and mastering. In the end, if you want to sound like a top trance producer, you’ve got to start from the ground top and go through the learning process. Nothing comes easy.
thanks a lot for this tutorial!! do you use a leering to such a lead, or does it sound solo in the track? I am very interested in this, i notice that most of the new tracks sound clean, like there is no layering of leads
I mostly use the Sylenth1 when it comes to creating or recreating trance sounds from the 90's/00's. I'm thinking about also getting Serum, but is it worth it if I already have Sylenth1?
Hi, what program do I use to open these sounds in? (Maybe a really stupid question but I am completely new to this). Please let me know which program I can use these sounds in as I would like to sample them and then put them in my Korg Kronos so I can use live.
Well if you do not have synths and presets it would not ever be the same of course. But follow the eq and adjust your basslines accordingly to taste mate🫶🏻
I always wondered why to EQ your own sound you make for yourself on the very plugin? Why not use ProQ3 or something which you're gonna do anyway? :) Is it just for the viewers to see how you EQ the saw? Would you do that off camera for your project?
Hi Reorder, awesome video. I played after your set on AfterHours FM EOYC 2years back lol! Amazing videos mate, what was that tune you were playing on the keyboard on this video? I know it but just can’t think what it is so will keep me awake all night mate 😂😂?
If anybody wants to take this patch to the next level, route your third envelope to the volume of the noise oscillator, and throw some plucky white noise on top of the patch. It makes it sound heavenly if you use it sparsely.
learning stuff in 6 mins that others failed to teach in hours...THANK YOU!!

Great to hear this
Such a great thing that a trance producer is teaching us like me as a beginner... we also enjoy your musics in big labels ...

I've often said that you have the purest, warmest gated supersaws. Definitely the Goldilocks of saws. Thanks for doing this.

Very late to the table here, but just wanted to say that the remix you did of Concrete Angel was phenominal!
I just set it up exactly as shown and it's the best noise I have ever heard coming out of Reaper 🙂
Love you and you're music! Many years I was waiting for you're amazing tutorials!😋 All the best and keep up the good work!
Can you make the same sound with sylenth1 or spire vst ?
Sounds like a good idea;)

Brilliant Tut bro, even managed to replicate the midi from about 5:10 😊 Do you have a method for creating the melody itself?
Thanks mate. I actually did a full masterclass on trance melodies. Check www.readyformasterclass.com
Awesome tutorial! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Around 2:40 matk - I've never been afraid of the highest heights....
Thanks man! I owe you one! ;)

Sneaking in Gouryella and Airwave in that title like we wouldn't notice
Well they started the whole saw lead generation;)
Very powerful, tlee preset and sounds great

This one sound like this on its own btw ;)
Sage words
I'll buy that soundbank as soon as Serum is on sale. Do you know if they have a spring or summer sale?
Could you create the same sounds with Ableton's Wavetable?
Very nice:))
Use macros to control the filter cutoff and reverb mix and then throw some automation into it and BOOM!!
thanks a lot for this tutorial!! do you use a leering to such a lead, or does it sound solo in the track? I am very interested in this, i notice that most of the new tracks sound clean, like there is no layering of leads
The thing I have always struggled with is a pad like rank1
I mostly use the Sylenth1 when it comes to creating or recreating trance sounds from the 90's/00's. I'm thinking about also getting Serum, but is it worth it if I already have Sylenth1?
Well I’d say serum is like sylenth 10 fold 🤩
You should also post the midi at the end of the video :) or make a separate tutorial on how to make that uplifting melody
Sounds like a great idea
@@reorderdj right? I see a lot of synth programming tutorials. But I've only seen Daxson show how to arrange the notes for an uplifting melody.

Sir How to play those Synth notes😮 please start Synth torial 😢
Thanks for the video. If I’m not mistaken, you should speak into the face of your mic. Not into the top. The membrane is vertical. Cheers
Lol thanks for the comment and quick mic lesson 😂 mic arm Is too short unfortunately so I improvise
