Thanks for the mention...and yeah...there are a hundred ways to capture snails....mine was just one way to get them off the glass. By the way...I use a cup that bettas cone in...it's a bit more solid.

You might as will make the same contraption put a lid on it put some food in a leave it overnight and the snails will climb into it now or you could just pick up the whole thing with a bunch of nails in it

I have long fine bristle nose plecos. There breeding so much I'm not shore what to do with so many. There throughing albino babies. About 6 to 10 each brood. Would it be ok to breed them together as there related. I don't think I can get another albino as its nearly impossible to get long fin here net alone albino long fin bristle.
Sure, you shouldn’t see any issues for about 10-15 generations.
How about using the deli cup with 1 small notch, put the lettuce in it, put the lid on it with very small holes, put it in the tank... in the morning, pull the whole thing out?

I use a little plastic cup too to get them off glass too. You don't need the notch. 😉

Yes first and first got some pest snails in some plants,so I set up a pea puffer tank .This will come in handy.Bacon and diet Sunkist. Little Michael is doing great and growing 👍

Sure
I bought a Sara brand snail trap at a LFS but it tends to catch my fish and if they stay in it overnight it kills them. Through research I learned that sale of the Sara trap was discontinued in the US as it was awaiting approval with some government agency (it was removed from US Amazon purchase). I’ve tried a homemade version that uses a soda bottle cut in half and inverted and had the same bad result of catching my fish fry. Maybe I’ll get inspired and try this method, I’ve still got to get up the initiative to do my weekly water change so it might be another, “I’ll do it some day” fish room chore.

??? whats the reason of not take the snails on the glass with your finger instead using this plastic think? either way you catch them manually..
1. Not all the snails are on the glass.
2. You can put this in the tank and walk away.
3. This will be more efficient.
To prevent cracking you can microwave it with water to make sure it’s supple and won’t crack ❤
supple is a good word.
I have used a jar with some food the snails would like. I like the deli cup though, especially with the drainage holes.

My snack was Chip Ahoy! (The chewy variety.) For the beverage, I went with milk.
Try heating those up in the micro for 3 seconds....tastes like fresh baked!

I just use a petri dish. Put on the bottom with pellets and lift out with plant tongs when full. Works for me. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿

I use a water bottle with green beans inside, it works. Now I love snails personally, but to put them in other tanks, works well. Very few fish seem to get trapped in there, but you can drain it into a net. The snails stay attached to the plastic. My 2 cents.

I use a small brine shrimp net and collect a bunch off the glass. Feed them to the assassin snails.

Snail trap - I need to move my snails (100s) from my shrimp tank to my zebra loach tank. (They wiped out 100s in a week) Maybe I’ll try the old upside down plate trick.

Very new to all this fishy stuff. Our snail population is thriving. So why is that a bad thing? Also a side question is our tank water at 75 degrees ok for breeding? One small male, 2 small females and 2 ginormous females. Thanks Michael

@@MichaelsFishRoom yeah dude. It's like a tiny very flavoursome lettuce. Usually associated with Italian and French sandwiches. It is an acquired taste though. My mum used to smash it in my school sandwiches when I was a kid and I thought it was nasty. These days though with my matured tasted buds and pallet it is the shit 🔥
If you have multiple snails, just put a carrot slice on the gravel...boom! All will be there in hours!

I just put half a zucchini in the tank, wait an hour, then scrape all the snails off into another tank. Although I have accidentally caught a few baby plecos this way. I also have a lot of snails. I should post a picture of them on your page. It's bad. Really bad. I have no flowerhorn to feed them to. :(

When my snails get out of control I take a piece of zucchini put a stainless screw in it so it sinks To the bottom of the tank The next morning almost every snail in the tank will be munching on that zucchini take your net scoop it out waaa laa!!! snails gone
