I can remember the TV repairman coming to our home in the 50’s to replace tubes in our black and white TV. We had 3 channels and my brothers and sister and I were not allowed to touch the TV except to change the channel for my Dad.

In the 60s when color TVs were new our neighbors got one. I remember they invited over some of us and we all sat on the floor watching Flipper. It was amazing.

Hey Rusty... I am your age..also the daughter of a plumber. Every house we lived in growing up had a switch for turning the hot water heater. When I got married in 1970 my husband and I bought a new house. After a few months I had my dad come put a switch on the hot water heater. Dropped our electric bill by 10.00 the next month. A lot in 1970. The thankless hot water heater does save space, are expensive to buy and install and don't really save much in the long run. Anyway, just my thoughts on it . You do you as always. I really enjoy your videos.

Back in the early 1980s we bought a CD at Frost Bank in San Antonio. The promotion was we got a 25" console T.V. for free.. Must have weighed 200 lbs. We watched it for like 15 years!😃

Great video. It's one thing to have a driving video in a town, city, or flat land and another to have one in such a scenic and beautiful landscape. Crystal clear skies and video.

I remember when we got color TV at our house in 1972 but us kids didn't get to watch it beyond the first time. It was my parents small TV that was bought because my dad wanted to buy something for his homemade sailboat and he bribed my mom so she could watch her football games in color.

My feelings on tankless water heaters. Gas/propane power heaters work well, but the electric ones are too slow.

Good morning Rusty. You know I’ve discovered one thing, that is, it doesn’t matter how fast you drive, hell you could be driving 20 mph over the speed limit and people will still ride your bumper. I’ve found that nobody wants anyone in front of them. It’s like watching leapfrog on the highway. And funny thing no one gets anywhere any faster. Have a great day!!

Recently towed my MyPod micro camper with a CRV-EX for over 1000 miles to SC from KY and back. Averaged over 25 MPG for trip. Then average price was $4.30. Late May trip. Price now $4.60. Spent over $250 just in gas. My set up was the best I could do for micro camping. Also took electric bike. It is expensive to camp these days even minimally. Good luck all, and budget your trips.

Rusty to your question why are people always on your bumper. When you finally pulled over..not only one..but two cars went around you. The reason they're on your bumper is because there is nothing more nerve-wracking than being stuck behind an elderly person driving slow..I know it drives me nuts.

I'm falling in love with Ruidoso, I'm living in the Arizona white mountains the weather here is very similar to where you are, and the elevation is near close to 6,750, I moved here in 2018 and even though there is snow in the winter, the sun comes out nearly every day and melts it quickly
It's cold but not the kind of wet cold, so it doesn't feel really cold
Thanks for the drives, and information on the area 👍🏻🤩😍

I am fortunate to camp at the campground in Flin Flon Manitoba which is less than 3 hours from where I live. The cost is $25 a night which converts to #19.85 to U.S. More affordable when you don't get full hook up! There is always a way to save money!

Back in the mid 60's my 90+ great grandmother lived in a house without a water heater. Once or twice a week she would drag a metal bath tub off the back porch into the kitchen and partially fill it with tap water using a stew pot. She would simultaneously be boiling several pans of water on her gas stove. Over time she had a "formula" for how many pots of hot and cold water to mix for a comfortable bath. For all practical purposes social services didnt exist back in those days. Not one time did I ever hear her whine, moan, or complain about having to do this. My how things have changed.

It doesn't have anything to do with the Amy's brand. It is because it is a food item and Amazon's policy is not to receive back any food items. I don't know if it has to do with expiration dates or for some other reason. The same thing happened to me with Tea. They shipped me the wrong flavor of Tea and credited me and told me not to send it back. And, I have had family members tell the same thing happed to them when they received the wrong food item that they ordered.

Not sure what the regulations are in Texas and New Mexico, but if someone bought an acre plot, or smaller, maybe they could rent out spots to RV's on that property and the property would pay for itself. Keep the price low enough they would come. If that plot is in a town with stores/facilities nearby like Capitan where they could walk to places, that plot could become a popular stay.

Funny story about "Soda Waters". I was in Las Vegas years ago, we were paying for our meal and my brother told the girl cashier he wanted a soda water to go. She looked at him funny, went into the kitchen and came back with a glass of baking soda and water. We had a good laugh, she was young and never heard Cokes called a soda water.

Rusty, my son has a tankless water heater in his home. He told me it is noisy when it turns on. How noisy I do not know but he claims they can hear it in their bedroom and the water heater is in the garage. My son lives in a large home. Might ask the plumber you are using about the noise level of the tankless water heater versus the regular tank water heater. I hope your new home works out the way you want.

Find the bright side of life.
A healthy temp drop in local Winter knocks the bug pests out of your daily life. That can be pretty nice. Less insecticide needed. It's interesting, not boring, and motivational. Where I live, you can always put on another layer (hoodie). But the same people (neighbors) frown on appropriate nakedness in high heat.
:) Hope we can all find the humor in the moments, Amigos.

Hi Rusty. When I owned my ranch house years ago I really wanted a tankless water heater to help the environment and save money. My plumber told me that you could not do it with electricity that you had to have gas or propane to fire it up quickly and he would not install it with electric. I thought it could be done with it's on 220 breaker but he wasn't interested.
