    Josh was more of a textural keyboard-player than a traditional piano player; and Pete, while a very skilled and distinctive bass player, would drop out a lot, meaning that Kenny and Johnny kind of had to anchor the band. I just discovered TON and have been watching this video daily and multiple times. I have a problem. Thanks for sharing! The opening to this set in my opinion was the best. Coming out in the drums a little bit to go silent and all we got is Peter's bass starting anesthesia. Just epic. Wish I was there. And wish I knew about them before he passed away so I could see them live.

    • @brandonjackson5865
      @brandonjackson5865 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man I’m so happy to hear that new people are still getting into TON. I’m getting old, but I got into Type O Negative around the time Bloody Kisses came out. I was proud 12 or 13 maybe. I was getting into heavier music. TON is the first band I remember feeling like maybe I shouldn’t be listening to them. I was a little scared to be completely honest. I was raised in a fundamental Baptist house. So the stigma of darker music was different for me than my “ heathen “ friends lol . There was no denying that Bloody Kisses start to finish is a complete masterpiece and as beautiful as it is depressing at times. Peters sarcasm in some of his lyrics went right over my teenage head. So I sorta got to experience discovery TON twice in my life , firs interpretation every thing he sang was completely serious and he might actually be a vampire. The second when I discovered the sarcasm, self loathing, and tongue in cheek of his lyrics. Both ways are each awesome but I much prefer the original intent of Peter’s lyrics kinda observing and commenting on and making fun of the people who would make up their main audience.
      Man I love TON and I think they are sorely underrated. They were ahead of nu metal tuning down to B standard by at least two years. I’m just stoked new people are getting into this band enjoy it. Their whole catalog is incredible even the origin of feces even though it’s as much Carnivore as it is Type O Negative.

    I saw these guys on their first tour as Type O Negative and they were just an opening band for "The Exploited" I saw them 12 times in total, I lived near Boston Massachusetts and they played around this area a lot due to them being from NY, I only saw them in small clubs, I shook Peter's hand in 1991 on their first leg of "slow deep and hard" tour when they were an opening band! They were so much better in small clubs and funny with the way they interacted with the crowd in a smaller intimate setting!
