I thought about this, and here are the ones that we're most likely sentenced to death, i won't say why to avoid spoilers: - Redd White - Manfred Von Karma - Damon Gant - Richard Wellington - Acro - Matt Engarde - Dahlia Hawthorne, but we know that - Luke Atmey - Furio Tigre - Kristoph Gavin - Florent L'belle - The Phantom - Pesslub'n Andisthandin - Roger Retinz - Ga'ran Sigatar Khura'in
I don't get why Phoenix Wright didn't get the respect he deserves until the end of Trials and Tribulations; before that point, he was called a 'unskilled' and a 'noob'. HELLO - HE TOOK DOWN REDD WHITE, MANFRED VON KARMA AND DAMON GANT IN HIS FIRST FIVE CASES! The first was said to be 'above the law', the second was *undefeated for FOURTY YEARS*, and the third was a genius detective, and Police Chief! Not to mention that Phoenix also defeated Miles Edgeworth, who was also undefeated before facing Wright! Sure, taking down one of them would be a fluke (but really, Manfred losing to a 'rookie' should earn Phoenix some credibility regardless; not even the might of Gregory Edgeworth could do anything more than give vK a penalty), and two could also be chalked up to 'beginner's luck', but _three_?! No. Phoenix should gotten the respect he deserved. Then Phoenix took down a movie (TV series?) star, with Matt Engarde, despite literally every single odd being against him, and then arrested a _loan shark gangster_. Oh, Phoenix also managed to puzzle out the truth behind the Mask☆DeMasque cases, while getting the true thief found innocent - to do that, he had to _interrupt another trial_. Lastly, he was able to break the Hawthorne curse, unravel the strange happenings of that night, free both captives, and defeat the true murderer - a master of court. Phoenix should've gotten every single shred of respect he deserved by the end of the first game. Heck, he managed to defend a defendant whilst suffering from amnesia (however, both the killer and the prosecution were complete idiots, so...minus a few points?). Who else could've done that?
Connor Gamer And she loses her first-ever case because Dahlia convinced Terry Fawles that _suicide_ was better than being found innocent and having her jailed. If Dahlia hadn't done that, or if Terry had 'woken up' from his 'hypnotised' state, then Mia would've won. Additionally, Mia was working on the Redd White case; she likely would've gotten him if he hadn't gotten to her first. As for Phoenix's first case (the one with Frank Sahwit, 1-1), Mia wasn't the head of the Defense team, so she wasn't exactly 'working'. It's, of course, left to Phoenix to puzzle everything out, with Mia giving out hints whenever necessary. Though we do see her figure things out in spirit-channeled form several times - for example, that Luke Atmey said some lines at the 'end of the testimony', which Phoenix could cross-examine. Or for Phoenix to flip the receipt around in 1-2. It's said that spirits have no memory between channels in both 3-5 (Dahlia's memory gets interrupted when the body she's inhabiting dies) and in Spirit of Justice (Dhurke's faulty memory, the Head of Justice not knowing why he's no longer in the Tomb after his death), so for Mia to work things out in a few moments, whilst having heard very little testimony, is quite...special.
PokeMaster22222 oh. good point. I forgot about those moments, I usually watch ZSlyer play the games. Its been about two months since i last viewed a ZSlyer episode on the original trilogy games.
Phoenix is great and all but Edgeworth took down an ambassador of a country(with extraterritorial rights no less), an ex chief prosecutor and chairman of the PIC, uncover a presidential assassination that had been so thoroughly covered for 12 years, and solved an incident that had remained unsolved for 18 years Also Apollo took down a dictator of a country

Fine, if its an answer you want its an answer you'll get. I can do it with evidence, it begins approximately at 0:13 , from there until about 5:00 , is the first game. Note the text that Phoenix says.
I've watched this video so many times and only now noticed that Means has his "angry" face during his breakdown up until he's facing the camera again. Like he's angry in the frames he's swinging his head back around and only when he's facing the camera he's like "come on guys, i'm innocent!!"
I can’t believe that karma can bang his head on a wall 26 times without losing brain cells And I can’t believe Damon gang can clap his hands at 100000 mph without dying
I'm just gonna pop by to say this: The animation work on Rodger's break down is fucking incredible, honestly. It's so smooth and damn near realistic. It seems like the actual movements a human would make, it's practically the opposite of stiff, i dunno if they did some kinda motion capture stuff or not but really, serious props.
The animation work in general is pretty amazing, especially considering the complexity of the models and how smoothly they move their limbs and body. It must have taken a very long time to make the models and textures. Massive props.

the movement was improved, that does not mean the quality was improved. The new animations seem to be using mocap or some other realistic animation simulation, which look good in other games but not in ace attorney. the cartoony characters have very bouncy and stylised animations which convey a lot of character, just look at athenas poses. switching to realistic animations in cutscenes is just jarring and do not fit the characters at all.
@@aquaarmour4924 I think the mocap works fine sometimes, like in the Mr Reus case, but it also ends up really weird sometimes, like Garan's breakdown. Edit: fixed an error.
Retinz was still technically defeated by a Gramarye, because Apollo is Thalassa's son. Edit: 1:42:52 confirms that Nick's hair spikes are part of his skull.
Man, I love the really creative ways the models are used in SOJ. Ahndistahndin, Uendo and Nichody in particular. Like, all of them are such drastic changes of character without having to change the models all that much. Peace Jesus turned into Metal Jesus by taking away his headband and giving him speakers. Uendo is literally 4 people but the way his fan hair is set changes his look entirely. (I'm still dumbfounded at how female Kitagawa is despite hardly changing the face.) Nichody goes from steampunk butler to surgeon by putting a mask on and taking his cufflinks off. It's insane. I love it. EDIT: Trauma Center/Ace Attorney crossover with Nichody when? (I know Trauma Center is dead, let me dream, shhhh)
No nothing of this series or the full stories of these games, but... ...What freaks me out about his death? He was probably an assassin for hire, even his wording about him revealing himself was interesting...and then he's killed by what I assume is a sniper. Who hired him to murder Athena's mother, who was an amazing robotics engineer? Even if it isn't revealed who he was, the assassin taking out the killer...who was probably commanded by someone else...well... There's always a bigger fish than the last one... Yes he was found out to be the Phantom who killed her, but why was her mother targeted? What was his motive, if it was his at all?

Still, they don't believe a 5 year old kid of murder, yet they suspect a 13 old blind kid, and a 12 old wheelchaired girl of murder. Ah, Ace Attorney logic. So confusing as Turnabout Revolution. Edit: yeah this is one of my more... “regrettable” comments. Honestly, this comment felt like to me as rushed. I honestly keep it because it has so much likes... (ok that sounds kinda bad)...I mean.... it’s weird due to it being very incorrect. I have learned the Ace Attorney series in much more detail, so just ignore my past self, haha....
In the Spirit Of Justice DLC case, when I saw that Pierce was a butler I joked around saying, "He did it. The butler did it lol." Come to find out HE ACTUALLY FUCKING DID IT
Ikr? Most of the breakdowns in the series are desperation because they've been caught, and this is still the case the Nichody's. But you can really also feel the desperation from when he failed to save Selena, which is super sad...
Nichody and Acro have been mentioned as tragic woobie villains, but honestly I find them to be some of the worst villains. Especially Nichody has some dumb issues. His fiancées dying words are "take care of my brother" so you plot to have the brother stabbed, then to have the fiancée killed, then you frame the fiancée for murder but then you also prevent Sorin from being accused by ripping out his note and... you... outright murder the guy who worked for you because..." He's got a great breakdown but he didn't do the _work_ . I don't sympathize for him. I don't even _understand_ his actions as a culprit trying to pin the blame. He is _truly_ heinous, yet he gets the tragic backstory that each of his actions absolutely shits on? As for Acro... weak breakdown, and entirely unsympathetic for pinning the blame on Max.
All of these breakdowns are super impressive, and I agree that the more recent additions to the series bring some FANTASTIC animation, but god the spritework on some of the old ones are masterful! Honestly, they all blow me out of the water.
Ga'ran: I... I want a lawyer! Me: HAAAA HA HA HA HA HAAAA!!!! GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!! *Ga'ran fails Channeling The Holy Mother* Me: HA! Serves you right, you tyrant. I love ironic Karma.
Geometry Dash xKagura I agree, except for Ga'ran's. Wish the guards would've shot her, as Amara bursts in and yells "Fire!" as a final revenge, and as Ga'ran fell back the seance pool would slowly turn red. Then again we can't lose that Teen rating.
@@juro7854 Don't forget that there are some portions of dialogue in Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice that reinforce that fact. Especially Spirit of Justice.
I'm really thankful for this compilation. Watching breakdowns from game to game never gets old, and rewatching your favourite ones is uplifting! And hey, I've got to say, since I finished SoJ today (if counting the special episode), I've got to say the breakdowns were AMAZING. Roger Retinz's (I think I've found a new favourite!) and Paul Atishon's especially. And Uendo's is adorable!
Beh'leeb.......... her breakdown was the most heartbreaking... She actually TOPPED Acro......... And worst of all... Tahrusts death........... was all because of the DCA.
Athena also said in the same case (when being tied up like the body hidden as the Phoenix Wright statue) to Apollo “Wait, you’re not into this kind of thing, right?”
4:06 Phoenix : What do you have to say... in eight words or less ? Marshall : I only got one word for you, pardner. (8 words) M : NOOOOOO!!! (1 word :y)
Sorin's breakdown is my favorite in terms of the raw terror it carries. He's just learned someone he cares dearly about has been manipulating him and altering his memories, and he's not sure what he can trust anymore. That's going to seriously screw him up for a while.
Ah god,Apollo's breakdown...one of the only scenes to make me cry in...history.I'm a tough guy,I normally don't cry at feelsy things. But this...This just ached because Dhurke was best dad and Apollo was just...INNOCENT as all get out.It just...makes me ache.
Nope. The trial that one time was being watched by people outside the court who would help decide the fate of the trials. It was immediately discarded come Dual Destinies with no mention.
37:50 I have to wonder what Professor Means's animations were in Japanese, particularly this last one; here, he's clearly drawing a sharp G for "guilty". Since G isn't a letter in Japanese, I have to wonder if he drew the first katakana or hiragana for "guilty" instead, and if the animation had to be extended for that (in English he draws four simple lines; of what I've seen of Japanese, the 'symbols' for lack of a better term can be quite complex).
Years late here, but while I haven't checked to confirm, I do remember hearing at the time of Dual Destinies' English release that his breakdown animation was altered so he's drawing a "G". I distinctly remember this because some people assumed this alteration was the root cause of a plot hole (fixed in re-releases) introduced in the English localization; Means having his globe staff even at times in the story where he isn't supposed to have it, since they were mucking with his animations. I don't know personally if that hypothesis is true, I just mention it to explain how I heard this.
So, I guess now that you've got all of them I can ask this. Which is your favourite breakdown? I personally like all of ace attorney 6s, especially 6-3.
I don't have one but five personally. 1. Dahlia Hawthorne. (She deserved it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it) 2. Kristoph Gavin (A little DBZ-esque breakdown, my inner DBZ fan loves it) 3. Damon Gant (Really fits Gant's character) 4. Manfred Von Karma (Especially the head butt against the wall) 5. Godot (A satisfying end to a satisfying trilogy)
Pierce's because it's as over-the-top as your usual breakdown but jesus christ it's also the most heartbreaking one. First breakdown that left me feeling more sorry than satisfied.
Damn Mimi and Acro cases are the most heartbreaking. I know they do murder and unfair things, but still... losing a brother or a sister. Seeing them breaking down like that, instead of raging with anger but fall in tears...
Nice job. If I may make a suggestion (SPOILERS for Apollo Justice) Maybe put in Kristoph's creepy laughing in as well? That seems like it belongs in here.
Spoiler warnings are completely irrelevant here since watching this compilation means everyone has watched all these major moments in full. And if they haven't, well, don't ignore the big letters on caps on the description.
breaker dawn How he was unable to save her made it even more heartbreaking personally I find it to be one of the best breakdowns in the series as a whole
It would have been the perfect breakdown... if he had deserved it. But at this point, his plan is just so intensely evil and selfish and goes against everything his fiancée asked that I'm just... left frustrated at this moment. Like we're supposed to care.

Love How Engarde Literally SCRATCHED HIS WHOLE ASS FACE!
WHAT THE FUCK? THATS A MILLION SCARS
1:55:08 technically this is his third breakdown
I've watched this video so many times and only now noticed that Means has his "angry" face during his breakdown up until he's facing the camera again. Like he's angry in the frames he's swinging his head back around and only when he's facing the camera he's like "come on guys, i'm innocent!!"
Paul Bryan
you, sir, have the eyesight of a hawk.
Nitro/Kevin Gaming nah I just found it out by spamming the breakdown on AAO :P
Probably them reusing the animation of him writing on the blackboard
That is some galaxy brain animation
I can’t believe that karma can bang his head on a wall 26 times without losing brain cells
And I can’t believe Damon gang can clap his hands at 100000 mph without dying
I can't believe how the judge didn't die yet
What about Daryan being able to twist his neck freely to swing his hair in any direction
Hmm... do you think if someone put a block of steel between Damon Gant’s while he was clapping, it would break?
More philosophical questions at 8
Wait were you supposed to measure claps in mph???
I prefer “claps per second” (C/s)
I'm just gonna pop by to say this: The animation work on Rodger's break down is fucking incredible, honestly. It's so smooth and damn near realistic. It seems like the actual movements a human would make, it's practically the opposite of stiff, i dunno if they did some kinda motion capture stuff or not but really, serious props.
The animation work in general is pretty amazing, especially considering the complexity of the models and how smoothly they move their limbs and body. It must have taken a very long time to make the models and textures. Massive props.
Motion capture much?
Yes they put alot of focus on it, atleast that's what one of the developer blogs say
When?
Im certain it was MOCAP but either way, these animations are really good.
Dual Destinies took as long as the entire first four games, and SOJ took longer.
And the investigations took to much longer than all the other games

The animation quality in SoJ improved SO SO much! Well done to the creators
I agree although I kinda think they messed up Apollo’s model
the movement was improved, that does not mean the quality was improved.
I really loved it in Roger Retinz's breakdown.
@@aquaarmour4924 I think the mocap works fine sometimes, like in the Mr Reus case, but it also ends up really weird sometimes, like Garan's breakdown.

Then there’s Nayuta, who takes off whatever was on his hand and became a rebel
Nayna is one fabulous transformation
You think that's crazy? Inga has the craziest name...used three times.

Don't forget Acro as well.
Nichody and Acro have been mentioned as tragic woobie villains, but honestly I find them to be some of the worst villains.
Especially Nichody has some dumb issues. He's got a great breakdown but he didn't do the _work_ . I don't sympathize for him. I don't even _understand_ his actions as a culprit trying to pin the blame.

He just began to write the first symbol, he didn't fully complete it
Guilty is 有罪
@@西瓜-e1u Starts starts writing and goes *No*
Years late here, but while I haven't checked to confirm, I do remember hearing at the time of Dual Destinies' English release that his breakdown animation was altered so he's drawing a "G".
Damon Gant's is the best, would love a gif of that

god are we not gonna talk about that perfect transition from von karma's banging his head on the wall to phoenix's desk slam?
So, I guess now that you've got all of them I can ask this.
Which is your favourite breakdown?
I personally like all of ace attorney 6s, especially 6-3.
My favorite was either Jean Greyerl or Yuri Cosmos
Simon Keyes was so funny because he had a fake breakdown
I don't have one but five personally.
1. Dahlia Hawthorne. (She deserved it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it)
2. Kristoph Gavin (A little DBZ-esque breakdown, my inner DBZ fan loves it)
3. Damon Gant (Really fits Gant's character)
4. Manfred Von Karma (Especially the head butt against the wall)
5. Godot (A satisfying end to a satisfying trilogy)

Pierce's because it's as over-the-top as your usual breakdown but jesus christ it's also the most heartbreaking one. First breakdown that left me feeling more sorry than satisfied.
Phoenix, Apollo, Mia, and Edgeworth: *Abuses desk*
Von karma and Klavier: *Abuses wall*
Franziska: ABUSE OF LAWYERS
37:21 You know IN THE BATHROOM!
These breakdowns are so brutal, wellington CHOKED HIMSELF (he is still alive) AND ENGARDE SCRATCHED HIS FACE MORE THAN 10 TIMES
That was only in the second game u Know That Theu can
(Sees Ted Tonate litary Blows up is own eyes)
NOPE THEY CAN,T
And one litary got a hearya attack
That politician in 6 reminds me of Kim jong un
: )
don't you have a campaign to run?
NValverde1992 Yes I do and I'm doing great
You're not alone there
Seeing two whole hours in video length really makes me cry a little inside with how much Ace Attorney games there are
All so beauitful
Damn Mimi and Acro cases are the most heartbreaking. I know they do murder and unfair things, but still... losing a brother or a sister. Seeing them breaking down like that, instead of raging with anger but fall in tears...
Pierce Nichody: Don’t forget me!
You think you can take me (a person who invoked his right to stay silent)?
@@catalyst539 Pierce Nichody was an asshole who pissed all over his dead fiancées last words, fuck him.
They really stepped up their game with the SoJ breakdowns
Nice job. If I may make a suggestion (SPOILERS for Apollo Justice)
Maybe put in Kristoph's creepy laughing in as well? That seems like it belongs in here.
AWSUM Mr. Potato the Internet that's why
Spoiler warnings are completely irrelevant here since watching this compilation means everyone has watched all these major moments in full.
And if they haven't, well, don't ignore the big letters on caps on the description.
Fair enough. I thought better safe than sorry.
Nichody breakdown is really sad when you think about it he actually preform surgery on his fiance
breaker dawn How he was unable to save her made it even more heartbreaking personally I find it to be one of the best breakdowns in the series as a whole
It would have been the perfect breakdown... if he had deserved it. But at this point, his plan is just so intensely evil and selfish and goes against everything his fiancée asked that I'm just... left frustrated at this moment. Like we're supposed to care.
To this day I still ask myself where the hell engarde gets that glass of liquid something
