She is absolutely adorable. Fun video and wow... those tones sound good. I'm sure she'll get good use out of the glockenspiel.

I was younger than you are now, Miriam, when I first got into drums. I was 3, to be exact. It’s gonna take a lot of practice to get really good, but as long as you stick to it, you’re gonna be great!! And you’re lucky!! As a guy with autism, I wasn’t given the option of playing percussion in band. I had to go with something else: saxophone, which was great, but it wasn’t my favorite. But I digress. Now I’m a full drummer as well as a percussionist, particularly world percussion, which includes but not limited to: djembe, congas, bongos, cajon, and timbales, as well as some auxiliary instruments that are 100% necessary. You’re gonna have fun!!!

I actually have a question about that stringed instrument on the wall seen at the top left of the screen. I am noticing empty string holes. Is the instrument flexible in how you choose the spacing of the strings? or is it just for looks? And what the heck is that string instrument called?

Great question! It is a lyre and actually doesn't have any empty string slots, it's just that the gauges vary quite a bit so some look more invisible on camera 😊 I did this one in a special pentatonic tuning with a unique string set, so it looks a bit different from most! There's a video here: th-cam.com/video/k8W8U8Fy3IY/w-d-xo.html

@@MusicalMollyKhan Watching the video now. So it's a Lyre. okay. learning all sorts of new stuff. I see what you're saying about the camera trickery and some strings not showing up on camera. it's a cool looking instrument. Looks easy to craft if ya got the correct wood working tools :)

Was hoping for features such as, the thickeness of the bells, materials, resonance, just more information. "Really really good" just doesn't cut it for me. How about actually playing it, too. I was interested in Mapex, but I will seek out more information elsewhere. Also, this is a glockenspiel, a xylophone has a curt sound and less bells than the glock. p.s. I was interested in the music holder, how much weight can it take for books and not sheet music, would have liked to see you show us. You have a wonderful day, too, that's the gist of your video.

Is the highest note C8 ? Thank you so much. Do you think there is any glockenspiel that’s small size like from C7 to C8. Thank you so much

amzn.to/3nu4otG This is the closest I could find! At that small size, there are some expensive more professional sets, but they don't contain all the notes. Otherwise it's mostly children's instruments 😢
