i was thinking: with the boomerang powerup it could most likelyhave something drop from the skies or something when it comes back to you and triggers something (like a pow block)
On off blocks in 3d world theme! They didnt even announce them but they are in the video. Coupled with all those new powerups, this is actually going to be an amazing theme and it's a lot of fun. Propeller box is just triple propeller mushroom! Crazy. Also all the glitches. Cant wait to see the trolls and glitches lol
You can still get hit from the sides of enemies. Also, in the original SMB2, certain enemies like Porcupos and Pansers would hurt you if you tried to jump on them.
@Lifeform Lover he means that you have something like a room that you would need to jump on enemies to exit, and the enemies are blocked off from the sides so you couldn’t get hit by them, so you would be softlocked into the room and forced to start over
I think it’s better to let the players make there own game so there’s unlimited variety! And getting to make the world and levels however you want is really cool!

My father is Chihwei Wang and he is the lead designer on the Super Mario Maker 2 game team here in California. He had told me that his team was originally going to make an SMB 2 gamemode like you had mentioned, but he figured it would be best to just scrap the idea and release all the features now because the game is as popular as ever and taking into account current circumstances. Hence, the little warning for the update. If you are going to ask me whether or not there will be a Super Mario Maker 3, my dad does not know. His team has not been greenlit yet, but hopefully with all this positive feedback, it will be a yes in a year or so. I know I had nothing to do with this personally, but I just feel really happy for my Dad's work.

I am actually really happy for this release, I’ve been working on making my own mario world, but there still wasn’t much variety mainly with bosses for me to work with, so I only did 4 worlds. But now I have so much more to work with that I can start over and make what I really wanted to make out of my world.
Personally, I think a good “small” update that they can add would be a collab mode. Plus, this was only the last *major* update. I think doing a collab is pretty annoying, speaking of the fact that other people need to build on the same copy of Mario Maker 2. It’s really irritating. I would love a way to send unfinished levels to other people you want to collab with privately through the platform. Maybe receiving it could come up in your ingame notifications. Also, when the level would be uploaded publicly, it would show all the names of the makers that built in it.
Yeah, I noticed this too, it was such an odd omission. Super cool to see them, surprising that they didn't highlight it, so maybe there are some other minor changes too!

I know some have probably noticed but I just wanna say that the lights on the red POW block hat turn off one by one every time you use it. So the block only has P in the POW lit when you only have one use left. Awesome detail they added!
Last night when I got the notification from Nintendo, I was so happy. When it got to the Koopalings, I started crying through the whole thing. I was somehow more excited about this than the actual game's release. But now that we have almost everything we've wanted, we don't really need anything else (apart from an extra game style uwu) I was making a troll level for you but now this update is here I won't be including any of the new parts because it's almost finished ;-;
If you notice when they're showing the different overworld styles, when they show the "outer space" theme, all the levels are airship icons, but only the middle one has a Bowser Jr. face on the front of the ship. That wasn't in the list of level icons at the beginning. And when they're talking about playing other peoples' worlds in Course World, the example world they show has a couple of Ninjis on some level icons. I think there's even more to the World Maker than they mentioned! :)
I'm honestly close to being as hyped as I was when the very first SMM2 Trailer dropped, like World Maker is litterally the thing I wanted the absolutely most to be added...Coins and 1-ups, as well as exploration finally have actual purpose, you can link levels together and create a coherent experience...this is going to be insane

After reviewing the video, I’ve noticed that in world maker, you can do multiplayer. I also noticed that on/off blocks are now in 3D world and that wasn’t in the original. So I’m excited for this update!

The coolest thing is, that you can actually make 1Ups important when you create a Super Mario Maker World.
I mean,they WERE important in endless mode but now it's ENDLESSLY better!

If you notice when they're showing the different overworld styles, when they show the "outer space" theme, all the levels are airship icons, but only the middle one has a Bowser Jr. face on the front of the ship. That wasn't in the list of level icons at the beginning. And when they're talking about playing other peoples' worlds in Course World, the example world they show has a couple of Ninjis on some level icons. I think there's even more to the World Maker than they mentioned! :)
I'm honestly close to being as hyped as I was when the very first SMM2 Trailer dropped, like World Maker is litterally the thing I wanted the absolutely most to be added...Coins and 1-ups, as well as exploration finally have actual purpose, you can link levels together and create a coherent experience...this is going to be insane
DGR it's the final "Major" update, there will still be updates just not as big as this one

After reviewing the video, I’ve noticed that in world maker, you can do multiplayer. I also noticed that on/off blocks are now in 3D world and that wasn’t in the original. So I’m excited for this update!

WAIT. If you listen closely, they say “we are going to be releasing the last major update SOON.” I assume that they are saying that there will be one more, that or bad use of grammar.
So there is still one more update? So maybe Ice Flower, Mini Mushroom, secret areas within walls, Charging Chucks, Sparkys, Dolphins, and Reznor are still possible.
