- Hannah Bowles was the latest groomer to feature in the Pro Groomer Grooming Guides when she groomed a pair of Cocker Spaniels, this one Handstripped and the other clipped ( • Grooming Guide - Cocke... ).
The hand stripped Cocker Spaniel, called Loui, should have a flat silky coat that is well feathered and look natural and flowing.
The calmest Cocker Spaniel in the world?? A lot harder when they wriggle ! Super professionally done, Louis looks beautiful.

Those eyes while grooming " If you see this...send help!" Great job though, I wish my cocker was as patient.
I have one suggestion. The tutorials are excellent. But in the description box it would be good to mention the blade no comb attachment no or brushes used etc while grooming at particular breed dog

amazing job Hannah wish you could tackle my 7 month sable show cocker he looks like a teddy bear and i dare not take him to the groomers incase they make a mess of him , hand stripping is not done much in my area thanks

I use a brush and reverse comb to remove the dead hair. Do it every evening

Very nice job. In America we take much more off the front legs and leave the bib higher not to expose as much chest.

Whst comb are you using for the undercoat?

That looks pretty horrible to me. My girl cocker would never trust me again if pulled her hair like that.
Being an animal lover and having dogs myself this makes me feel so angry about what this stupid person is doing groomer or not i don't agree with her actions at all its perfectly clear the dog dont like its hair bieng pulled out as the dog (louie) was sitting down.

Helena, I have a Cocker, and there is no way on earth I'll do hand stripping. This dog on the video hardly looked comfortable (he keeps turning towards the hand). He just tolerates her becuse he's such a good dog. I understand the theory that its dead underfur and it does not hurt but I think that's BS, it just for people wanting to showcase their dog in competitions (ie: their own ego). When I brush my dog you clearly see him enjoying it. Not the case on this video IMO.
If you don't know anything about grooming, if you don't understand anything about grooming and you don't undesrstand what she's doing, don't talk please. The name of this technique is stripping, and we, professionists of grooming, we know well how to do it and it's not a suffer for the pet. It's our job, if you don't know enough about it, don't talk.
I call BS! It's cruel! He is NOT comfortable and obvious to most of us it causes pain and discomfort - if you can't spell (*professionals) don't comment - ridiculous response.
I'm a groomer and try not to do a lot of handstripping. All the Border Terriers I've worked on have hated it (and it wasn't just me, I've always asked another groomer to take over just in case it's been my fault and they still don't like it). Clipping works just fine as long as you do a de-shed - even though it does alter the texture of the coat from that point on
Hope the next visit to the hairdresser for her is as torturous... Anyone did that to my dog I'd shave their head .....

Who ever uses these hand dog stripers are basically deliberately hurting there dog as I'm sure everyone has heard about them being painful towards the dog as all it does is just rips there fur out and as well as hurting them its not good for their hair folecuels nor conscience of the groomers .

This dog does not look comfortable at all! Lifting a dog’s skin up to rip it’s fur out is horrible!
It’s not ripping his fur out, it’s desheding dead hair and that’s why he looks so shiny after, it doesn’t hurt and this woman is amazing at it. And he does look comfortable, he would be jumping off the table if it hurt him.

AWFUL, THE PULLING IS TOO HARSH, ALSO THE PULLING OF THE EARS AND TAIL..Watching almost gives me heart attack, WHY REMOVE HIS WHISKER!! the reason why I don't take my dogs to the groomer, I'm going to school for a dog groomer so I can groom my furkids.
