Nightwish is perfect but Revamp is from another world. Then again how can anyone not like After Forever best. Lets face it who cares which band any one prefers, Floor is just amazing and we are blessed that we know of her in our lifetime.
For me...it's Nightwish, Northward, After Forever, Revamp and Ayreon..it was really hard to put them in any sort of order tho...cuz she is absolutely amazing in each and every band/project that she is in..and she has a different style in each one...
Good question Travis. I like her work in ReVamp best, it was completely her own artistic vision and I believe she learned some things about herself during her time in After Forever. Nightwish is next, she is a mature singer who utilizes her instrument masterfully no matter what she is asked to sing. Next is After Forever, you can hear the almost undisciplined use of her instrument but the records they made were tremendous. Next is Northward, almost a hard rock extension of After Forever but a nice collaboration with Jorn. Next is her appearances with Ayreon, magical - gold - brilliant all apply. Next is her appearance on Beste Zangers, I think that did a lot for her even though she was already a star. Other solo appearances or one-offs round it out, really can't go wrong anywhere.
If your talking about official bands, I'd say my favorites in which Floor has been a part of would be: 1 - After Forever 2 - ReVamp 3 - Northward 4 - Nightwish
Definitely After Forever.. I used to be with an organisation scouting for talent by providing a stage. We booked bands like After Forever and Epica back in the day.... Magical times. The venue was small... we could host 250 people max.. imagine that seeing bands like those or kamelot with those numbers... awesome and cherished memories... guess we were right on at least a few occasions :) And let's give credit where credit is due... Look in to Mark Jansen ;) Just google his name in combination with After forever or Kamelot.. you'll find some interesting stuff
for me Floor was hher best in After Forever, because it was sort of her band her passion, with Revamp she wanted to sing a more rockyer style with the classical elements, in nightwish i dont get the epic feeling, that i had with After Forever, her voice isnt used to the limit like in After Forever, and Nightwish is a bit too soft for me, i think if you really liked After Forever then Epica is a great next band to listen to.

In Nightwish her voice is used with much more diversity than she has ever done in After Forever and she has learned a lot more techniques post AF. In her own words: "In those days I mainly sang very high.". Revamp and Nightwish pushed her to learn new techniques and other vocal styles. In Nightwish she absolutely uses her voice to the limits, but it's just not the kind of limits that you prefer. Well, that's the way it is. Don't forget that Floor took the decision to change the use of her voice already back in 2003, when Mark left the band. Mark wanted to maintain the bombastic operatic sound, while Floor wanted to move to a more metal style. That was the moment when she decided to minimize the use of high pitched operatic voice and the belting rock/metal sound became her primary vocal technique. The later AF albums feature more this rock/metal voice over the operatic voice. So I assume you are more a fan of the early AF albums than the later ones?
@@treintje1001 well to be fair i only got their self titled album wich turned out to be their last and she kind off does both in there the belty rock/metal singing and the higher classical things. im more fan of mark his way of writing and structuring songs. never hears the first After forever albums just a few songs. also something isnt clicking for me with nightwish, maybe its the way songs are constructed,maybe its becuase tuomas holopainen is the main songwriter, i dont know, i do think its aweomse what they are doin as a whole for the community
The 2004 Zillo-Festival took place in St. Goarshausen/Rhine, on the Top of the Loreley-Rock. The amphitheatre there was build by the Nazi/SS, to celebrate their occult Thing-Rituals. The Stage is placed in such a direction, that on June 21st, the Sunset is right behind the stage. Nowadays it is used for theatre and music. The nature of the amphitheatre (lines of half-a-metre-tall stones all around the area (archaic "chairs") makes it impossible to headbang or create a "Wall of Death" - this is why the Fans seem to be very "cold" and "non-enthusiastic"

That's not an easy question, there's so much to love about all of them. Probably: 1) ReVamp; 2) After Forever; 3) MaYan (that counts right? she was a session vocalist w/ them for like four years); 4) Ayreon; 5) Northward with Honorable Mention to Star One. I feel kind of bad loving the first ReVamp album so much, as she was at the beginning of her burn out, but it's really good. Mr. Awesome Pants is Joost van den Broek, he's producing Epica's new album and working with Floor on a solo album.
Ok, that's one hard question... 1 - Nightwish. Because her voice has matured and the music is beautiful (though I'll admit that EFMB doesn't blow my socks off - except for like 2-3 songs... Honestly, if this was before HVMAN :: NATVRE came out, I'd have put it in 3rd place because of EFMB) 2 - ReVamp. The grit, the freedom of doing whatever the heck she wants, the aggressive and in-your-face sound. 3 - After Forever. I love her vocals, but I'll admit the repertoire isn't always my cup of tea. I appreciate the band very much and was sad when they disbanded, but there was something missing for me in several songs. 4 - Northward. I like it. I put it in 4th place because it's not a project I will listen to again and again and again. (not counting MaYan, Star One and Ayreon in this one, because Floor is not the lead vocalist, but let's say they're honorable mentions, lol)
after forever 2001-04 revamp 2008 -2010 and northward somewhere in there and the one fella that was in the video when love died went to epica and evergrey in 2014 because Tuomas put out some solo stuff he was working on too the auri stuff with troy and tuomas wife johanna kurkela is in there too
After Forever > all. The sad part is that they performed when video, cameras and sound weren't great, so all there is, really, is our memories of the live performances and the cd's.
It's hard for me to rank her in all of her bands and projects because they're all so different. Loved her classical expression with After Forever, her rawness with Revamp and her versatility in Nightwish. The After Forever and Revamp albums hold a special place in my heart though as they provided a beautiful escape for me during my childhood. Don't really listen to her rock album with Northward, only because I don't like rock. I need that heaviness and those distorted guitars 😅
For me Nightwish has the most epic songs, but i miss Floor's operatic voice on the latest albums. Tuomas has a Ferrari (Floor) in the garage, but only uses it to go shopping in the village.

After Forever is UNTOUCHABLE. Floor feels so free and pure in After Forever. Revamp is bitter sweet and her pain is very palpable, so it makes things harder. And then Nightwish. I mean, do not get me wrong, I adore Nightwish. But she feels very constrained there. And it's a shame they're distancing themselves from the operatic vocals so Floor can't show her entire range. And I guess, maybe it's for the best since Tarja's voice is super hyper dramatic and Floor's is sweeter. For years I've wanted Nightwish to go heavier but hey. They're perfect just as they are. It's just... Floor is a true metalhead and I miss her going absolute berserk on stage.
This song is actually a letter from a Muslim girl who has to leave her community (I don't know if she literally left or committed suicide) because her lifestyle is not accepted.

Hello, you can't say it like that at all, I think that every band in which SHE worked was great but completely different. The bands before Nightwish were definitely projects from the field of independent music (the English call it "Indie", i.e. musical ideas and sometimes an unconventional and very distinctive singing style have priority over earnings of money and commerce- although of course everyone wants to be famous ), and for a narrower circle of listeners, it is perhaps all the more spicy. I personally like both.

If its something that speaks more to me then metal,its all out rock n roll like Northward is. Actually the latest album of Nightwish is most technically challenging for Floor. For the classical style of singing, Nightwish doesn't require it from her. Mostly only Tarja era songs, but most of those aren't done anymore and those they do are possibly better for mixed voice; added lines for versatility and creativity. As such there's more classical style of singing in After Forever (broader selection of songs).
