Spurs sold high on Murray 🔥... Probelm with guys like Murray and Jeremi Grant. Stop being lock down defenders to concentrate on offense too much. Not realizing their max value is there 2-way potential.
this is a good trade for both sides. adding defensive depth is what the hawks need more than anything. both daniels and nance will probably play 18-24 minutes a game and be reliable defensively. with trae's ball dominance, i think they needed to move off a player great with the ball. i would have prefered they trade trae, but i guess no one else wants him.
I'm not sure. They really need to focus on paying Naji Marshall, or all their massive defensive upside will be lost for the most part. Dyson and Larry were amazing for them on the defensive end, for as long as they've been with the pels.
Atl still stuck with the toxic Ice Princess, should have kept DJ, who can actually lead a team which he proved in Iso-Traes absence this year. @@lstheprodigy7761 I think they worked well. The main issue is that both Zion and Ingram have had injury problems throughout their career. I'm totally not stoked about giving up two defensive powerhouses for a player that barely had any defensive upside on the Hawks. I know he was way better on the spurs, but it is still concerning. If Murray is not completely bought in on that end, he is going to fuck things over and be a massive weak link in a formerly well oiled machine. Even CJ, who has traditionally been a bad defender, bought into this and gave a lot of energy and dedication to the pels defense. It's a let's watch and see situations, but I'm worried at least a little bit.
@@pinobluevogel6458 "Powerhouses" is a bit of a reach lol, we might suffer some def but DM should work out better on this roster than the Hawks, depending on Pels next trade, we'll see how it shakes out
@@xencloud If you look at their defensive impact metrics, they were quite amazing. Offensively, they were not great, I'll admit that. But maybe with Trae, they can get a few more easy buckets. We will for sure see how it works out. I'm worried that the Pels lose some of their defensive identity, but I'm also pretty happy with Dejounté as a player, he was probably the only player next to Bogdan Bogdanovich that I liked a lot for the Hawks. If he buys in to the Pelicans system, he has seriously good potential.
The league needs to investigate this trade and make sure Landry Fields wasnt being held at gun point or being threatened in some way because the pels just got away with highway robbery
Dejounte was a poor fit with Trae, actually Kevin Huerter fit much better despite being the lesser player of the two. This trade eliminates the question of are they building around Murray and it adds depth on the bench and defensive help on the perimeter. They also recouped a couple of first rd picks and managed to shed some salary. Hopefully this sets the stage for a larger trade involving Capela or Hunter or both.
I thought it would be Ingram for Murray. Pels were trying to save money and now they can get off Murray without getting a good player in return... If the Hawks are trading Trae, I could see the Magic getting on that. They have picks, Cole Anthony, Anthony Black, Fultz...
As a Pels fan, I can tell Hawks fans that Dyson will frustrate the hell out of you!! He can't shoot from 3 and refuses to drive and finish at the rim. He's strictly a D guy, not sure how he works with Trae if he stays. He's not gonna be able to drive and kick out to Dyson for shots like he did with Murray. Dyson isn't that kind of player. I'm ecstatic about this trade! Not having to give up Herb Jones, Trey Murphy, or BI is a grand slam home run trade.... A++++
I'm far less than ecstatic. Nance and Dyson were A+ defenders. You can complain all you want about the lack of Dyson's offense, but he was pretty good in the short midrange and had some real playmaking chops. That is not something that you can teach. I will miss Larry Nance even more, his defensive tenacity and impact on games was just insane. If Dejounte Murray can go back to his Spurs defense, it might work, but he was downright bad on the Hawks defensively. The Pelicans are a defensive team, if he can't follow that , he shouldn't be on the team. Man up or go home.
@@pinobluevogel6458Dyson was good as a defender, and Larry is a 6’8 center that is old, for a pels team that is defensive minded and have dj, herb, Trey, Missi, and maybe another big, they don’t get impacted at all on that defensive end
@@themainonedaddy2357 Maybe not, if they still retain Naji and keep their core intact, they might still be a strong defensive team. The main strength of their defense came from the bench though. Having a package of Naji, Alvarado, Nance and Dyson off the bench was just amazing for their defensive consistancy. I know Herb is the major factor, but losing more now .. that is just scary.
Can’t really say who won or lost, until the picks are made. If the lakers miss the playoffs next season and end up with a high lottery pick, the hawks got exactly what they wanted. Trae and Murray don’t work together
Love this trade for the Pelicans and i actually like it for the hawks. Dejounte fits New Orleans WAY better than Atlanta and Atlanta did a form of addiction by subtraction. New Orleans got a perfect fit point guard for nesrly nothing. A+ for Pelicans and B+ for Hawks.
The Atlanta Hawks is go for rebuild. No matter what Hawks do, people won't like them. They always bash their decisions, such as the No.1 draft pick got grade B, now the trade got B. Pelicans need spacing instead they add in Murray a mid range shooter, it's their problem now with Murray. Hawks is having their future first round picks back, avoid luxurious taxes, a good defensive Dyson Daniels who is younger than Murray.
Not bad for the Hawks. I think the package has similar value to what they give to Spurs. Dyson Daniels would be good fit with Trae if he stays. 2025 is a good draft year as well. Hawks wouldn't be that bad before 2027 with Risacher which the picks given to Spurs wouldn't be that valuable.
Its not a similar package. Hawks gave up 4 of their own picks that are lightly protected and a player This trade is only 2 picks and none of them are the Pelicans and are projected to be late firsts. Horrible return for a player they traded away a lot for.
@@AnonymousRapGuy what he's saying is as far as rebuilding goes it's a hell of a package. Than to grab Ingram when he's kind of leaving prime status for someone who has more than 4yrs in the league already
I really wanted Jazz to go in for Murray. There isn't much playmaking and Lauri, Sexton and Murray would had a nice fit in theory, specially considering Jazz having drafted so many complimentary wingers with Hendricks (last season) and now Cody Williams and Kyle Filipowski. If Kessler had a sophomore slump, and can take a another leap. Jazz really would had potentially really good team with DeJounte. Pels didn't overpay to get Murray, but Jazz could had easily afforded this with ridulous future draft capital.
The jazz would be better off trading lauri collins clarkson and sexton. They’re no where near contention but they have some of the strongest trade pieces in the entire league and an extremely young core. There’s no point to force a superteam that will fail miserably when everyone in the west and east are starting to become wildly stacked
@@denzel8827 Yes, but no. Collins probably isn't a positive trade asset with his huge contract. Lauri should been traded away earlier, while he had more time left with his bargain of contract and not entirely sure how highly Sexton would be appraised as a trade asset either, even considering his unexpentantly good season and contract up for extention within a year
@@konzza aside from Collins all of them would be fairly easy to trade. Markkanen could easily grab them 3 or 4 first rounders worth and sexton should at least be able to get one. Jordan clarkson is a vet that can generate easy offense and collins, while overpriced, is extremely efficient for a wing of his caliber. He had a season dam near averaging 60/40/80 splits and anchoring the hawksdefense with Clint as well. If the jazz want any chance at cooper flagg or anyone of great worth, they’re gonna need to trade everyone that doesn’t fit the timeline, especially lauri to the thunder, because they need their pick back desperately.
Im shocked they didn't go all in to get Ingram from NO to ATL so they can pair trae with a bonafide scorer that's a tall lengthy player. It's not an accident they made it to the conference finals in 2021. If ATL doesn't get a real #2 to pair with trae they'll regret it going forward. Treat trae like Allen Iverson and surround him with 4 tall lengthy players to make up for his defensive deficiencies he averages 20+ pts and 10 assists you don't just trade that away
Casuals who think Dyson Daniels "sUcKs" are the same people that think guys like Lu Dort, Alex Caruso, Marcus Smart, and Herb Jones "aRe tRaSh" because they don't average 20 points per game. 😅😅😅
I did not read keep trying from this trade for the Hawks; getting younger and gaining picks, that sounds like step one to rebuilding, I’m far from locked into either of these team though. I’m team trade Trae though.
Good job Hawks..1st round pick and a promissing young player who plays good defense in the backcourt + 1st round picks...Nobody knows how good those draft picks are really going to be.
They could go for a traditional non-shooting rim protector like Nick Claxton or try to get a modern shooting big. The lack of real cap space will hurt them in this hunt.
Trae is a real 2 time Allstar. Let's see what DJ does for the Pelican. Trae is the foundation of the Hawks to stop a total rebuild. I said Hunter, Clint; Bogi, Bruno, maybe OO, and DJ had to go. 1 down and 3 to go. Let's go get Ayton or Markkanen. GO HAWKS A+
the Pelicans need to trade CJ for a big man and some depth, they need to trade Brandon Ingram for maybe a starting 2 guard who can play better defence. Zion will be their biggest liability on defence if both of these two are traded away, so Herb jones and whoever they get for Ingram is gonna have to do a lot of the heavy lifting defensively, unless they get a big who can play defence and space the floor a little bit. Maybe there is a 3 team trade opportunity with the Pelicans, Cavs and Magic. Cavs get Ingram, Magic get Jarrett Allen and the Pelicans get Carter Jr, Levert and two protected firsts(one from the Cavs and one from the Magic). this would solve their Center issue and give them some depth
Atlanta is getting lengthy POA defenders around Trae. Jalen Johnson might be that secondary playmaker. That fits next to Trae, DJ brings little value if the ball is not in his hand.
The point was they could have gotten more for Murray. could have gotten a 3rd team involved so can get more value. front office is over valuing Nance Jr. Suppose he might be a better fit for Trae, but does that mean Trae is their identity in the long run.
I think Pels have the same problem Hawks have bringing in Murray who is not a great shooter. He was better last season to be fair, but that needs to continue or they will have a problem with spacing with him and Zion on the court at the same time. Hopefully this trade forces Zion to shoot more.
I think shooting is not the issue with Murray. If he is even remotely the defender he can be, that would be enough. He is already one of the better shooters, after CJ, Hawk and Trey. From midrange Ingram is king ofcourse, but pels need more spacing from 3.
Hawks get Lakers 2025 pick in Essense betting that Davis and LeBron cant stay healthy again which would give them 2 lottery picks in 2025 one of the best drafts in a long time.
Brandon Ingram is probably their best player. Why trade him? Use Zion at the 5 and Murphy at 4. Zion is big enough to rag doll 90% of NBA centers. If size is a problem then CJ should be benched.
The spurs are not going to get Trae Young but if they somehow get Trae Young to it different team…. The San Antonio Spurs are looking so nice for 2025. Their pic will most likely be a lottery pick, and then on top of it they’ll have Atlanta Hawks pick which will be lottery pick… altogether they might have the potential to get four first round picks….
C for the Hawks. B+ for Pels. Hawks need to find someone to fleece for Trae Young. You're not winning with him as your number #1 especially with a young team

Nice breakdown, but no mention of Jalen Johnson, the Hawks best young piece to build around?
Great video so quick lol.
Just told myself gotta wait till tonight for you to make this video and it’s already out. Tucker the most reliable since 2018
Atlanta really wants to give the Spurs top 5 pick each year the next 3 years. They still thinking the Spurs will give them picks for Trae hahahaha
🤣
Do yall really think Dejounte helped the Hawks that much?? Because he just didn't lol. Theres a fuckin reason he got traded lol. It was not working. The Hawks still could win 40ish games and give the spurs a pick in the 10-14 range. Sure that's a good pick but theres legit 5 teams in the east and at least 2 in the west that will flat out be tanking next year. The spurs are way more likely to have their own pick be top 5 than the atlanta one
@@baragon4N20He outplayed Trae
@@27Lozcthat never happened. Terrible efficiency
@@Sk8forever Yeah it did, he was the best perimeter defender on their roster and his efficient FG percentage and overall FG percentage was higher than Trae (arguably the worst defender in the entire league)… This is all while shooting a similar amount of 3pt to Trae (one of the most overrated players in the league)…
The most informative and well thought out NBA content. Thanks for the info and entertainment.
How the trade wasn’t BI for Murray is crazy, but now the Pels can trade BI away for a center who can shoot threes if they aren’t picking back JV
I’m a fan of Trae, Daniels, Rissache, Johnson, and Onyeka as the Hawks lineup of the future and I love the fit of Dyson Daniels I think that’s getting heavily overlooked. Not to mention the Hawks still have Bogdon, Hunter, and Capela
Love this for my Pels 🙏🏾🔥 so happy
Now the Pels need to trade CJ.
CJ can move back to the 2 guard they need him for spacing unless they can get a upgrade
@@Orlander123CJ is way too old for this team they need to trade him now before his value plummets because this team is not anywhere near title contention
That’s a terrible idea
CJ was amazing last season overall, but really bad in the clutch. If they play around this and let Ingram, Zion, Murphy III and Herb close out games, this isn't a problem.
@@Orlander123 No, Herb and Trey need the wing spots. If CJ stays, it needs to be as a 6th man.
I am very very curious what the second apron will look like in the sense of teams essentially just unloading salary like the Mavs, Nuggets, Hawks now where they give up a big contract in some cases for nothing. Are teams expecting to be able to sign replacements, somehow trade for them? Our current landscape was stars sign max deals with their current team then request a trade which will have to change I just don’t know what the next meta is
The Hawks probably just saw the Jr. behind that Larry Nance name and thought, that they tradd for a 21 year old prospect, not a 31 year old veteran.
Spurs sold high on Murray 🔥... Probelm with guys like Murray and Jeremi Grant. Stop being lock down defenders to concentrate on offense too much. Not realizing their max value is there 2-way potential.
As a hawks fan I really like this move
this is a good trade for both sides. adding defensive depth is what the hawks need more than anything. both daniels and nance will probably play 18-24 minutes a game and be reliable defensively. with trae's ball dominance, i think they needed to move off a player great with the ball. i would have prefered they trade trae, but i guess no one else wants him.
I'm not sure. They really need to focus on paying Naji Marshall, or all their massive defensive upside will be lost for the most part. Dyson and Larry were amazing for them on the defensive end, for as long as they've been with the pels.
Pelicans as of now definitely won the trade. Basically gave up role players and not their own picks to get a starter and all star at best in murray...
Atl still stuck with the toxic Ice Princess, should have kept DJ, who can actually lead a team which he proved in Iso-Traes absence this year.
Fans are tired of Traes whiny ass and we have seen this movie....how many player and coach carcasses do we need to see layin around Iso -Traes ass before we move on from him?
If Murray can get back to form guarding 1’s and being on-ball, running the offense more, this might be big for New Orleans
This draft class is not as bad as we think. Zacc, Sarr, Clingan, Edey, Hollins, Castle, and some others are going to put on a show.🎉😊
BRO WHY!!!!????? We SHOULDVE TRADED TRAE OMG🤦🏾♂️
Dont worry….. hawks will dump Trae too…. They betting on their lotto pick. Lol
5:03 i wouldn’t be too concerned about zion in this new pelicans equation of spacing, keep in mind he averaged almost 30ppg with lonzo as the PG1, with dejounte he might just see numbers like that again
This trade was an A+ plus for the Pels. Hawks got absolutely finessed on the trade. They gave up peanuts for a quality starting PG. now we gotta trade BI and CJ and pick up a center somewhere
F that shit, BI is way too good to give up. If he can stay healthy, the Pels will run wild on the next season.
@@pinobluevogel6458 doesnt matter how good he can be when the on court play between him and zion just doesnt work very well together
@@lstheprodigy7761 I think they worked well. The main issue is that both Zion and Ingram have had injury problems throughout their career. But they can create for eachother and they compliment eachother well. Ingram needs to be way more aggressive in taking threepointers and Zion needs to not run into 4 guys and pass to a shooter more often, but that's good enough to put them over the top, to be honest.
@@pinobluevogel6458 if u think they worked well together then we must have watched different games. When one has the ball the other just stands around in the corner
Initially when I heard we traded Murray I was excited cause I assumed it was BI after seeing the trade I am no longer a hawks fan #freeTraeYoung
As a pels fan the AD trade keeps on paying off!
Dude I'm a Pels fan, but we just straight up robbed em Nance proved toward the end of last season and playoffs to be a turnover machine. Also he's up for contract extension, he'll be overpaid. Dyson I loved watching his defense, he just has no shot...currently. Wish him the best but he was an offensive liability. Love our draft and love love love DM on this roster! Let'sgoooooo Pels!
I mean maybe it was decently fair, it's just on the Pels side, that was all expendable capital in exchange for filling a huge need for us
I'm totally not stoked about giving up two defensive powerhouses for a player that barely had any defensive upside on the Hawks.
THIS ANAYSIS IS HILARIOUS!!
This is an A+ for pelicans finally have a pg and his contract is great.
Larry Nance JR, Dyson Daniels and two first round ????? Thats it ??? WHAT THE FXCK ARE THE HAWKS ON 😂🤡😂🤡
Hawks front office are bunch of Billy kings’ students
That was all he was worth shit we gave yall two first round picks
It is an overpay ffs.
Larry nance is probably a better fit than Murray floor spacing wise
😳
@@themainonedaddy2357Larry Nance is a excellent rebounder but the Pelicans have a big 3
If he didn’t get time on the pels, how is he supposed to play when atl has bey, Hunter, Jalen, and Zach, Aj and boban
Y’all are so fixated on trading Trae. He is not going anywhere.
How did you drop this video before the trade was announced 😂

Wth is the Hawks doing? I can't stand our ATL Hawks management. Smh
Pels offence just went insane.
I wonder what NO is gonna get for BI. Swapping him with an equal player makes them a very good team
Facts

Jazz is a team that is about 3 good players away from anything serious. They have far bigger problems than just missing a playmaker.

Dyson Daniels sucks .

I did not read keep trying from this trade for the Hawks; getting younger and gaining picks, that sounds like step one to rebuilding, I’m far from locked into either of these team though. I’m team trade Trae though.
If they go away from Trae, they need a hefty sum for him. I hear the Spurs need a guy that can give Wemby a great time.
It’s so weird to see you not hating on the hawks for once. I’m all for it tho
Good job Hawks..1st round pick and a promissing young player who plays good defense in the backcourt + 1st round picks...Nobody knows how good those draft picks are really going to be.
Pelicans need a pG and a Center. But they trade for Murray who play the same way as CJ Mccollum with better defense
Pels must do something at the center position.
GO HAWKS A+
Shit, we lost Larry Nance.
Every time I watch your channel, o remember how obvious it is that you don’t watch the Pels
Than we are wondering why West is better than East. This trade and if add Bulls OKC trade.
They couldn’t even get Jordan Hawkins in the deal is stupid to me
I’m honestly surprised bucks are trying to move brook lopez. Lopez is old and limited offensively.
the Pelicans need to trade CJ for a big man and some depth, they need to trade Brandon Ingram for maybe a starting 2 guard who can play better defence.

But it didn’t change the fact that the lakers drafted nepo baby at #55
Bro so Timberwolves could’ve traded their picks for DM 😔
I could see the pels in the conference finals if they stay healthy
The spurs are not going to get Trae Young but if they somehow get Trae Young to it different team…. The San Antonio Spurs are looking so nice for 2025. Their pic will most likely be a lottery pick, and then on top of it they’ll have Atlanta Hawks pick which will be lottery pick… altogether they might have the potential to get four first round picks….
C for the Hawks. B+ for Pels.
Hawks need to find someone to fleece for Trae Young. You're not winning with him as your number #1 especially with a young team
Nah mane the pels fans know this is an A for us. We’ve been needing a PG. and Murray does well in the 4th quarter. Our 4th quarters aren’t good. They pulled the trigger on the trade we all wanted
