I am very pleased that you appreciate this show's absurd sense of humour 😂 In particular, teen + adult Noah duo in this episode is the most hilarious thing ever. Teen Noah is just living his best life with his whole "I am SO COOL" attitude. Look at me, I hang out with time travelers, including my own future self! I watch people sleep, then make unsettling comments and leave with a smirk! I creepily eat apples in the forest while carrying out the very important task of stalking people! And what's even funnier is that adult Noah really hasn't changed. "You've already made my acquaintance" - he's literally waited all these years to say that sentence, hasn't he? This just... never stops being entertaining.
Jonas descending into the HQ is totally him entering into the Labyrinth to find the Monster, the Minotaur, whom as Theseus, he is supposed to find and kill. Only to find the Minotaur is himself.
Jonas ends every day in a worse states than when he started, and every glimpse of the future he gets only shows him how much worse things are going to get ☠️ It really is a cursed existence Also, an irrelevant thought: Jonas is soo handsome this episode 😍 I think the 20s' style suits him better than any other (ok now I'm done, I'll keep it in my pants)

I'm glad you remembered how you noticed The Creation of Adam in the season 1 finale. That's one of the many things you've picked up on that I never did.
I do honestly admire the way the creators handles the revelations in this story.. You can feel the respect for the viewers and trust they have in them..We know you've already suspected it.. We are aware that you're smart and paying attention to acknowledge the bomb under the table.. And We will just allow it to explode As elegantly as possible ..The event IS the painting.. visually with the mirroring and the tension .. Verbally with the prelude :"don't you know?"... That's just a masterclass storytelling. And you've experienced it the best way there is.. They respected you as viewer and you respected the art💙
Lucky that Jonas paid attention in history class and knew something about the aftermath of WW1, otherwise he could have said something like the Southern Front. Some impressing acting by Louis when he was in shock and shaking as he's eating the soup.
BIGGEST hint for me was when they.. Noah and Helge 'abducted' Jonas in the hospital. Because Jonas was about to take Mikkel back to his timeline. I know they didnt take him for experiments. They were sent by Adam to basically 'conserve' himself.

On my first watch of s2 I had several myself, some of which I got wrong, one I got right, the rest I just let unfold as it happened, including the Adam revelation. Still so iconic. And may I just add, I thought you'd assume Jonas is Adam for sure much earlier on ever since you appreciated the Jonas-Helge parallel back in s1's finale to the Creation of Adam..because, yknow. The Creation of Adam is a work by Michelangelo, and in the show....as a reeeal stretch, the man responsible for the creation of Adam is Winden's resident painter mr michael 😂😬 okbye
This episode is so rough. Jonas' physical and mental suffering is so hard to watch. And we see the climax that this is going to reach, when even his spirit is going to be too broken. The hero and villain at such opposite poles in the same story. I love this tv show.

Ah yes, "Die Reisenden". The blow‐everything‐far‐open episode of the series. Aptly placed in the middle of the journey. One of my favorites for sure. This episode is exactly what I love so much about Dark. It is not afraid to complicate things, because it is unprecedentedly confident that it can handle it. Where most shows would shy away from making the web even bigger, Dark embraces the mold‐like growth of both truths and lies. And it's only getting crazier from here. I'm eager to see if you'll be able to keep track of everything that's about to happen, because I for sure couldn't. So many pieces moving at the same time over multiple generations and time periods. If anyone can keep track of it all it's you, I'm sure :') Good Luck!

The violin chords (? sorry not familiar with music terminology) that we hear just as Jonas wakes up gasping might be something Ben Frost exclusively recorded for the episode just merged with the rest of the track, because I don't hear them in the track (Winden 1921) itself
