This is the FUNKIEST Groove That I have heard this year. John Patitucci's exceptional improvisational piece with Anthony Vitti holding down the groove. This Is Really HOTTTTTTT.
Can I subscribe to your channel again? Man, that was too beautiful. A great test in how to stay the fuck on that groove, giving JP total freedom, to go where he wants to go. SO good!
***** Thanks, we were just plugged directly into my laptop using Garage Band. No EQ on anything. I programmed the drums and wrote the bass line. That was one take in front of my class.
I don't want NO TREBLE! Brother Patitucci is putting in work here. This is some grammy type stuff...tell me you're gonna record this one. Brother Vitti can I get some notation (er, uh tab). Tasty solo over the monster grooves. Didn't think that it was possible. I got some major work to do just to get the groove and perhaps after a decade of non-stop practice maybe get the first Patitucci phrase.
John and Jeff Berlin are my favorite hands down! What a tone both these guys get. Both sound like basses and not clangy guitars.I have John on my Pandora😊John and Jeff have made me smile over the past 30 years at least lol
Brother Vitti do you ever get to play at Wally's in Boston? My father's great uncle is the founder (hate to name drop but hopefully you grace me with some notation on this one -- it was worth a try anyway).
Yes, just G Dorian. Cherry pickin' as John would say. ha ha... We were just having some fun during a class of mine and I thought it would be cool for everyone to just see John in a different style. What a true Master he is.
+Gus g I know! I'm just jesting with you really, but it is a bit of a bug bear of mine. It's not just you. We get access to all of this brilliant stuff for free, but if you hit any thread guaranteed someone's 'better than-ing' or cussing someone out. But I hear you! Anyway, all the best of life and music.
@@gusg8837 look, you're right, period, this guy has a nice sound, but there's a 16yo, Tiago Andree, go listen to him. Or Charles Berthoud, incredible. He does some Jaco, perfectly I might add 😁 You certainly aren't wrong for A:an opinion, and B: a fact. Cool that the other guy was messin with ya, but there's a lot of people that are just crazy, and not informed about what they argue in the slightest. Again, not the other guy, but Jaco is top 5 recorded bassist ever heard. Great comment.
Patitucci is, without a doubt, one of the great masters of the instrument of all times.
Sergio: I've got one name for you...Charles Berthoud.
@@brianmills5302 all charles does is play fast tapping patterns. patitucci has got it all
Anthony Vitti is the true reason this grooves, his bass line is so clear and memorable

John, one of the great bassist of our time. He's a genius.
Finally someone who's able to play lighting fast that DOESN'T. So tasteful
Agree! Melody. Love Johns playing. Must be nice sitting there.
There never was, is or will be anyone like John. Lots of new bass kids around, but they miss something that probably only John has.
Phrasing is out of this world.
Technique is brilliant.
Beautiful.
A real genius! Love John's music & sound since '98
I can feel the difference between a good bassist and a world class bassist
@Derrick Lorenzo fuckin wierdo
Love that groove from Vitti and of course Patitucci's melody motif worked excellent.
John’s solos are always so interesting. Very inspiring.
Fire it up! Someone take me into protective custody, cos I just witnessed John kill that groove!
😁
I don't know what's more epicc, Anthony's face while John plays the solo, or John's playing.
I know right... his smile is so funny
Thats how Jonn Patitucci just makes you feel when he plays. Its either that or he just makes you want to cry...
Man oh Man 😮. How is it possible that one man can hold so much groove and grace? Seamless statements. ‘Nuff said.
This is by far my favorite groove to jam with. I love the bassline.
Great solo of Patitucci. Many surprise lines, inspiring!

Anthony Vitti I was amazed from the perfection of everything, the loop, the bass groove and the melody-solo. On of the best video watched lately!

Hey Anthony! Can you tell me what the chord progression is please?
Thanks!
It's just an improv over Gm dorian.

Uau!!!!!
Awesome groove!! What kind of pickups do you have in that Fender....that sounds incredible!!!
Hey Jimmy. Thanks, those are basic EMG active J Bass pickups. Direct replacements for the Jazz.
Anthony Vitti why would you ruin a perfectly good instrument with those fart cannons?
they don't
amigo m regalas esa base de bateria esta muy cool para improvisar por favor saludos master
1 person dont like this?? wtf o_O
An angled plug is a must for a J-Bass... just sayin'.
this pattitucci guy is great. but not as great as they sell him... jaco was 100x times better
Now Gus, why did you neeeeed to go there. Just enjoy my friend, and leave the 'better than' for the Grammy Award ceremony! Hahaha. Peace, my friend.
