Haven’t been on social media in almost 2 years I’m 25 and I feel more sane than my peers that still do. I am informed on the things that matter to me and I am not brainwashed by the masses. I’m not trying to be something I am not nor am I trying to portray a fake life to people that actually don’t care.

As an artist AI terrifies me and makes me very depressed but people who use AI are generally not artists, and not people who understand what it’s like to put that much effort and love into creating something, so they can’t possibly understand what it feels like to have that ripped away from you and have your creations and artistic identity stolen and contorted into all sorts of different things that you didn’t create. It’s a horrible feeling.
The first time I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas was when I was about 7 years old. I saw it on TV during the holidays and fell in love with the gothic style of the film. I wasn’t scared, I was amazed, and that admiration continues to this day at 32. Also, I stopped using social media, except for TH-cam, over 5 years ago, which has really cleared my mind and made me feel more at peace.

I remember when I saw "Beetlejuice" in a theater when I was a teenager and I became instantly fan of his universe, his vision :) My favorite among his films are "Edward Scissorhands", "Ed Wood" (so underrated !!!), "Sweeney Todd" and "Dark Shadows" :) For the last years he made choices I have difficulty to understand (for instance going back to Disney for another version of "Dumbo" after all that he said about them in the beginning of his career !!) but he is still a master, a true artist, one of the very few of the end of 20th and now the 21 th century who has truly influenced almost all the pop culture !!! There have been countless "Burton like" films, series (and sometimes really soooooo poor in quality when you think of their great models !!!), but he is UNIQUE :) And by the way, LOVE his voice !!! I couldn't get into or like Beetlejuice 2 but Tim Burton seems like a good guy. He made a lot of movies I enjoyed. Too bad he never got to make a third Batman film. I'll never forget seeing Frankenweenie usually around Halloween on TV.
I had the pleasure of seeing Tim work in real time. It was the post production mix at the film center I worked at in Berkeley ca. He was hanging out with Johnny Depp at the time or visa versa. And he struck me as intensely invested in his ideas. Including the sound. Very hands on. The only other director who was more hands on was David Lynch. I’m sure they would get along well.
