Hands On Gameplay with Akuma in Street Fighter 6! He's as Cool as Ever!

- I was very lucky to be invited by Capcom to try out Akuma and the new Street Fighter 6 balance patch ahead of its release later this month on the 22nd of May, and I thought I would share what I learned about the character with you! Akuma is as cool as he's ever been, with all the classics like demon flips, air fireballs, raging demons and all that so lets get into the weeds about what the character is, and also show you some gameplay to boot!

Hey its Akuma! The guy what from street fighter! Capcom was incredibly generous and invited me in to gets some hands on gameplay time with Akuma and the new SF6 balance patch so heres some thoughts on Akuma in general. Don't worry, he's super strong and freeform and basically everyone will be able to get something out of him (although he's a bit lower health...). The Raging Demon himself is indeed back and if you like SF at all I am sure you will have a blast with this character when he launches, so give the vid a watch, leave a like ya liked it, and find out what he's all about!

Very glad that Harada allowed the Street Fighter team to bring in a Tekken character into the game. I can't even believe they gave him a unique design too!

I'm sorry but that CA is one of the coolest supers I've seen in a fighting game. Raging Demon will always be special but that CA is incredible. Also love how the camera glitches and breaks in his walkout sequence, goddam that is cool af
it doesn’t just glitch, you straight up see akuma teleporting in and punching the camera like the over the top asshole he is
His CA is awesome. Kinda reminds me of KKZ from 3rd strike

Him DBZ style ki blasting you to the face execution style is now one of my favorite CAs. Reminds me of his super in Third Strike but in cinematic form
I love how they kept akuma a glass Cannon but gave him all the tools to open you up & do big damage. I always tell my friends, whenever they ask what it's like to play akuma in older street fighter titles (mainly USF4) I always described it as "it's like driving a very fast car, as long as you're not crashing, you're winning"

@@Bigfellr Seth, thats a little harder to explain. I guess its like playing rock paper scissors & sometimes you get to throw both scissors & rock or any other combination. And if you somehow someway lose, you get shot in the foot. Lol idk

I didn't have tons of time with the build so full guide not quite yet lol. There will be a 2nd video early tomorrow covering some of the Season 2 balance changes as well! My time with checking out changes was a bit restricted cause im too dangerous to be left alone to find stuff out and spoil everything ahead of time, but don't worry I got some fun stuff for ya, plus a shining light of hope for Honda!
I'm so excited to see these changes. I love Akuma but somehow I'm so curious about the direction for the game.
My level of happiness and excitement is almost unbearable. Can't wait to see these changes, I have more confidence in them than ever.

200 at 5’10 though. 0% body fat from what it seems as well.

Judging by proportions he should weight at least 240 lbs
Zangief is bigger than Brian Shaw, but weighs less than him? No way.
Honda is at least 400 Lbs not just 300.
Scales are definitively broken at Capcom.

the fact that the command grab is tied to the teleport i would imagine is satisfying from a gameplay perspective but just visually it looks so cool compared to if it was its own separate thing

Obviously I don't know how the matchup is gonna play out yet but just from looking at this if you play it slow with Marisa you'll get results. One clean jump in and that'll probably be the round because of Akumas low health

The system mechanics are gonna make him easier to deal with than previous street fighters

This is my first street fighter game, so I never really got a hands on experience with Akuma but he looks really sick in this game. I genuinely want to try him out, hell he might be another main for me!

I can still be a sucker for combos sometimes, so I always appreciate when a character has freeform combos. No doubt that Akuma's gonna be a very fun character in SF6.

its been public for a while so I didn't harp on it. Its a level 3 you can only do while at critical health. Other than that its basically the same its ever been

The fact they removed his 2 main SF5 weaknesses (range and hadoken zoning) means hes gonna be HELLA crazy, i gotta play him now, no ones hitting it for me right now

I grew up shooting hadukens back and forth with my brother, pulling him over with Scorpion's spear, then ripping his head off to finish him (we didn't realize they were different games as children). But I didn't get into fighting games until the end of SF5's life when I started with Akuma as a main since he was easy to get into and his moves are just so cool. I've been anxiously waiting see what direction they took Akuma in SF6 and I gotta say that after watching this video, I couldn't be more hyped. I bought an all-button controller so i can get a feel for it and be ready to Lava Fist player's so hard they'll wish they never crossed my path in silver bracket!!!
