I'm in Connecticut, zone 6a. Last spring, I planted two bare root David Austin roses in large 24 inch containers. I topped them with 3 inched of mulch and using chicken wire, surrounded them with leaves in November after they went dormant. They did great.
I'm in zone 9/10 Oakland, CA. I usually receive garlic in September/October and do fridge vernalization for about a month after they arrive then plant it out (so late Oct/early Nov usually).
I’m going to try Black Cherry next year. Already have Sun sugar. I also planted some tomato plants in early July and am now getting g tomatoes on them! All my canning tomatoes have been done for a month. Also have the same lantana. It’s huge!!!! I think your rose will do better in the ground as well Love your videos!!!
Beautiful harvest. I need to try sun sugar. I've grown sungold this year and they're delicious. But I'm also loving sunrise bumblebee, and chocolate Cherry.
Hi Roxana. That rose will look stunning along your large trellis. Everything looks gorgeous. I always get a little sad this time of year to see the garden season ending. Now we get to dream about next season. Great video.
Oh I am honestly really worried about moving that rose, I know she needs the space to roar but I am afraid she may not like the new spot, fingers crossed. I hear you, September is always bittersweet for me.
Zone 9 checking in-I planted my garlic yesterday (9/22) . I've also started my onion seeds in cell packs so I'll be planting them out sometime in early Oct.
@@foodnwords I'm in Northern California wine country area and I buy my garlic locally from a garden center in my city-they get their garlic in Sept so that's when I plant it-It's earlier than recommended for my area but I push the envelope if I have the space cleared out. I'll be planting more next month when I pull up the basil and jalapenos.
Haven't tried Sun Sugar but I love Black Cherry tomatoes. And I think that rose might take up a lot of space in the spot you're considering moving it to...
Hello Roxana .... Im in zone 6 and also busy harvesting many vegetables, as well as various seeds. What variety of large tomato do you grow? I find my Beefsteaks always rotting and would like to try something else. Happy Gardening!
I am going to try both sun sugar and black Cherry ( and sweet 100s) next year. I’m on the hunt for seeds. I grew sun gold and loved them! Can’t wait to grow them next year😁 Great video!
Oh that trellis 😮 I love it! Where did you find that at? Black cherry are my favorite too! AND mine volunteer all over my garden! I’m in 5b/6a southern maine.
Hi Roxana I have a question on the Green Stalk. I planted lettuce and kale in there and they all got eaten by some bug very frustrating how do you protect what you plant in your Green Stalk from pests?
Hi! I have to say I don’t have any pests that eat my seedlings, this year I had something eat only a couple things of my bottom tier of one of the Greenstalks but nothing major for me to worry about, you could try using a cover blanket for bugs since these don’t need pollinators to protect them.
@@SoilandMargaritas Hi Roxana thanks for the reply. I bought the Green Stalk bug cover and just put it on yesterday so keeping fingers crossed that it solves my problem.
Tried sun sugar tomato this year! Delicious right off the vine. My niece and nephew love them 😍
They are so good!

I think being in this zone is helpful for them thru the winter
Roxana, I loved that you shared your thumbnail moment with us. It gave me a giggle. 🤭
Hehe I ended up not liking it anyways 😜

black cherry is one of my faves, too. I had nice luck with Wild Boar Farms Blue Berry. It's still going
I feel like black cherry could be a very productive one if given more time.
Thank you. I hope I do well with garlic this year ❤
Best of luck!
Black cherry tomatoes are the best!

You definitely should, I think you will be hooked!

When do you harvest your garlic?
Oh really? I haven't even received my garlic yet to plant, I'm in Zone 9/10 and usually plant out late Oct/early Nov...

That arbor is HUGE, I definite won't have to prune as much for sure.

I have a few favorites: Dr Wytches, pineapple and cherokee purple are the classics, orange jazz, pink jazz are those that come to mind.

Try hoss tools for seeds.

The trellis was made by my husband using black panels and wood from Lowe’s 😎🌿
