This was the first Avon perfume I ever liked. My mom sold Avon and when this came out I was super hyped. I was probably about 14 or 15 at the time. One day a girl at school told me I smelled like an old lady and that comment just got to me so I stopped wearing it. Today I wouldn't have cared but when I was that young it bothered me
She was jealous...this was the first perfume I owned in my teens, my uncles wife got it for me and I didn't bother memorizing the name. Girl I used to turn heads with this one, I've been looking for it without luck since then.
Avon’s Far Away is the best selling fragrance of the brand! It’s really unique and i find it sexy, cozy and so feminine. It drives me crazy when i smell this fragrance on a woman. (In a good way of course!) hands down for this beauty and a well done perfume!
Far Away on me is comes off floral in the initial spray, then in turns into the orangey, rose with an undertone of coconut, this dries down as vanilla/sandalwood and a hint of amber and musk in the end. I do wear this on bed as well on one spray. I wear two sprays of this on my stomach because i go to school everyday. its not so popular here in the Philippines and i only do get compliments from the people who have come across this, but its the most beautiful and affordable parfum that i would suggest.

Being but a newborn in the '90s, I have a weird, romanticized vision of the '90s for the "glamorous" side of women - where everything was warm and gold-toned, a bit spicy but also honeyed and comforting, bold yet soft, striking but feminine, you get the picture. I picture Mariah, Celine, Toni, and the infamous supermodels. Therefore I get inspired by makeup looks and fragrances that evoke this warm tone for me lol. I smelled Organza recently and I love it a lot. I love creamy florals. Now I'm highly curious about this one, for a fraction of Organza's price... Sure I run the risk of smelling like someone's mother 20+ years ago, but idgaf. So many scents just spell "woman" without having to be candybombs. 😊
This one is soooo 90's, it was the affordable power AND powder bomb. It has, I think, a stigma attached to it. Cheap, and days gone by. I will always appreciate though, but never wear it any more.

thanks for the review. so true. i actually do like the smell cause growing up i do find people wearing this fragrance around me and it is one of avon' popular perfume. it's so noticeable and you can tell just by the smell. anyhow i don't consider far away to be a common perfume. at first i did think it's too mature,old lady-ish. but as i get older, i've becoming more fond of the scent. mayble i'll buy a bottle soon. =D
Hello ouch! Avon's far away happens to be my signature scent and i don't know why? Maybe because i am so addicted to it's initial smell when you spray it. Its like a napthalene/moth ball nor hair spray like quality which weirdly appeals me. I do also detect that on vintage poispn but it's beyond my budget as of now. Are you also familiar with milton llyod perfumes? They are now available at a particular seller through online shop. Are they good ones? Since they make a great dupe of designer perfumes according to some reviewers in fragrantica. Thanks and god bless😊
They are amazing. I twice bought the aubergine bottle - dupe for YSL black opium. Clear bottle with lilac case - dupe for La vie et belle. These smell EXACTLY the same but actually LAST longer than the originals. They come in numbers.

The ONLY thing that would maybe be considered as similar would be that Alien contains Jasmine and Far Away contains Gardenia, they have a similar vibe but, the Jasmine in Alien is "Sambac Jasmine" which is a real exotic sweet kind. I honestly think that person must have a broken nose haha. Alien is in a different league entirely. :) This is a vanilla/powder bomb, and Alien is an exotic arabian/sexy bomb. :) *smiles*

I love Diesel's Loverdose initially but when it dries down, it smells a lot like Far Away to me for some reason... I was never really a fan of the Faraway line. Just tried the Amalfi flanker. At first it smells like a lemon drop martini but then it dries down into the original Far Away...

I really love the detail and accuracy of your reviews. Trust you a 💯 percent. This is one of my favorites and I also wear it to go to bed. It's such an excellent quality perfume for such a low price. Have you tried Animale by Animale? It's similar to Far Away but even more delicious in my opinion. Another that I find with some similarity is Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton. Please, tell me what you think about them.

Off subject a bit, I had a bottle of Diesel years ago...blind buy, bad BAD idea. It was a red bottle, silver lettering, came in a clear, dome shaped case. Worst fragrance I ever smelled. Be forewarned if you've never reviewed it. I can't even describe this fragrance. Only words I have for it are synthetic, weird and downright nasty. This junk...fragrantica.com

Powdery vanilla? Hmm there are quite a few you could try. Shalimar By Guerlain is the first one that spings to mind. Also Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens. On the lower end of the price scale there is this one, also the white one of this called "far away dreams" that one is very soft and creamy. :) Why will your colleague not tell you what perfume she wears? haha
I asked her but she change topic maybe is jealous of her own perfume haha!! I´ll try those i don´t know if in my country is on catalog far away dreams. Love Guerlain fragances a bit expensive but excellents. Thanks for answer ;)
+Anne North LOL! Apparently, this fragrance has its cult following in the Avon community. Way too overpowering. To me, it smells like baby powder douced with suntan lotion. I received this as a gift, and I tried to like it. I have a hard time considering this fragrance as a floral. A fragrance I could only imagine a very bold and mature woman could pull off with confidence. Very in-your-face.
@maria I understand that you have a hard time liking far away, since its strong and powdery which might automatically thrown it into eau de grandma territory. By the way, i start wearing when im 25. Can i ask from were are you? well, im from the philippines which happens to be hot most of the time. i suggest that keep your far away in your collections and try to use it during the hotter days. use two sprays on your sleeves, but be careful that it stains clothes but easily wash off in the laundry. or, try one spray on your wrist but dont rub it. just distribute it unto your pulse points. i can compare it a bit to alien but not exactly the same. something from far away reminds me of it. i also try to avoid or seldom using it from colder months since it has a tendency to smell like mothballs.

Far away is old skool but i just got this after many years, because i remember it and its noice.

I am 19 years old, and I find it very suitable for me..may be the reason is because I am an oriental Arab and this is our taste in perfumes🤍😅
