Monreale is a beautiful town perched on top of a mountain located in the metropolitan city of Palermo in Sicily, Italy. Stroll through the old streets to one of the greatest existing examples of Norman architecture from 1174 AD, the Monreale Cathedral. Since 2015, the cathedral has been part of the Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a national monument of Italy and one of the most important attractions in Sicily. It is 102 metres long and 40 meters wide. The main features of the church are the internal glass mosaics, made in the Byzantine style by Venetian masters. It is truly a site to behold.
