- Edit: This bird has been identified as a non-breeding plumage Chipping Sparrow
Curious if anyone recognizes this bird...
Spotted at my feeder. Other birds around at the time: chickadees, titmice, nuthatches, house finches, warblers.
Of Note:
-Overall coloring impression is beige/buff/dark/brown
-No streaking on the undercarriage
-Appears to have lighter colored outer tail feathers
-Looks like light/pinkish legs
-Noticeable dark band between two lighter wingbars
-On the smaller size of sparrows
-Possibly migrating through
-Relatively friendly
-N.E. USA
In Europe, the immature European Robin looks very different in colouring to the adult - I've been puzzled many times😂
It's a bird whose name I'm curious about, a bird I've never seen before 🤗
That's a bird, I can tell by the feathers and the fact that I've seen a few in my time!
Thank you Ocho, this is very helpful - I've researched this for weeks now and I think you may be correct!
Try putting it on r/birding
Thank you, I'll try that! :)
