Having seen these horses many times on Holkham Beach over the years I wish ALL THOSE on these message boards who maintain they are cruelly treated, would watch this and others Vids like them, to see just how incorrect they are. Its a wonderful sight and brings tears to the eyes. Please pass on!!!!
@cindyj5522 I know what type of bits they use. Yiu iniw so much tell us the name of the bit. Abd tell me why if they are harsh why cavalry horses remain so soft ..
So great to see these horses and riders out enjoying the beach. There's nothing a horse loves more than swimming and rolling in the sand. Good on you guys !!
Does my heart good to see these beautiful horses enjoying their freedom They are so so loved, I want to cry to see them enjoying themselves Thank You All 👍👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Absolutely not! The best care & feed & top veterinarians. No one treats them badly at all. Apart from the mounted guards being well trained in horse care & wanting the career, these horses are *very valuable. Especially bred for centuries for their nature & strength.
How wonderful horses love the water . They will need a hose down and a really good groom . So lovely it’s always been a dream to ride a horse in the sea. Don’t think it will happened at my age now 71 , however my imagination thinks I’ve done it. Plus Holkam is a stunning beach to take them.
That's not all they do, deal with pesky tourists at Horseguards I mean. They were at the Royal Windsor Horse Show with the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery
Great! In the end, after all the tourist's hustle and bustle, the horses relax and roll around on the beach, they should deserve this lovely time more often.
A huge effort to organize everything. For the kingsguards and their horses. A big thank you to those responsible. Comes from the heart ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I love 💗 watching household Calvary let the horses 🐎 play on the beach 🏖 and I wish I could go see a household Calvary mounted regiment musical ride this year 2022 or 2023 or 2024
We used to take horses out swimming in the lake when I was young. So much fun but you have to make sure not to dangle your legs down near the horse's because they can't see to miss you with theirs. Good memories.
The only cruelty is the constant touching they get while enduring the rude & noisy, ignorant tourists while they are on duty in the Guard’s Box. They need red lines drawn to keep them out of reach, but still able to get their photos. It’s not right that any of the guards on duty are harassed as we have seen for years. No one should be allowed near them without some sort of penalty, such as expulsion or fine. The wonderful soldiers & horses deserve respect!!!
The horses wouldn't. On the trooping of the colour SJA duty one of our old members was well known to them , she always carried a couple of rolls of polo mints for the horses. The horses are very fond of them, and are always on the look out for a treat.
They are not gawping. Its a public beach and they, the Guards and the horses love it. No-one goes up and starts to stroke them. You're just as likely to meet members of the Royal Family walking their dogs and the young royals playing in the dunes, but you wouldn't get really close though.
I am now nearly 80 so in my next life I want to be a Kings Guard or a Kings Guard horse and I am female so I hope this will still be possible! My horse name would be Fearless! 😮
There is a river at the back of my property, would love to swim my horses, just the problem of Bull sharks darn. It looks like fun and riding on the beach and is fun, but sand rubbing your thighs naaah. That's the down side.
The Household Cavalry have a summer camp facility near Holkham Beach where their stables are located. They do this two or three times a year for a week usually.
Petition the king and see if you can use one of the castles Bountiful acreage to let them run around I see no problem in that he's got hundreds of Acres it can be arranged
@@deborahrunnells8222 Using a beach and seawater is great for horses. I took a horse for a ride in the sea once, it has great therapeutic properties. And after a day of galloping around on a beach, what better than to cool off in the sea. When in London they do an early morning gallops around Wormwood Scrubs and back in time for breakfast and duty. The summer camp allows horses to play, roll in the sand, and have some fun. If you are worried about a nature reserve, don't be, they stick to roads until they read the dog friendly beach, and set up camps in fields. As far as I know, the King doesn't have beachfront acreage, although he does 'own' it all by Royal Warrant or some such. The Nature Reserve is the Pinewoods, and wetlands, not the public beaches.
Not disputing the use of the beach not at all I think it's very therapeutic and very natural for these animals who have passage to the beach I was just implying that good old King Charles has so many acreage around England that he could spare some pasture land for these animals when they're not at the beach and if he does have a beach home somewhere well good he can share that too after all these are his military horses and personnel and I don't think he's going to be frolicking in the ocean too long so yeah that's a big deal share the wealth it's for a good cause
Most of the riders are good.. and then comes someone in like in 0:46 and ruins the whole image by ripping the horse's mouth open constantly, not releasing any pressure. That basically sums up the equestrian world and what people see. Many good riders and then one lousy one and immediately every equestrian will be seen as bad. The horse even shows all the sign of stress and discomfort. That's jsut sad. The others that I could see looked quite happy. I loved seeing the horses roll around in the sand, that was very cute. I also don't like that many of the horses have close-coupled/ewe neck tendency which can mean they mainly ride with their heads upwards and their necks up. Were they ridden collected more than ridden with their heads up it would look different.
@@Roheryn100Jeez, it was re ONE rider with praise for all the rest. Must we always be happy bots, never being honest? I very much dislike the attitude that unless a comment is all over perky it must be hell-spawned.
Whilst that can be true as far as rivers and ground water is concerned where there are large groups of horses managed it isn’t of tidal sea water. Incidentally dog poop, unlike horse poo, is more likely to carry viruses, and bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella harmful to human health. That is why UK dog owners have to collect their dogs poop and dispose of it safely.
thats not true, waters clean that up very easily in rivers even more so in the ocean. There is a countless amount of bacteria, fish, algea, plankton, etc who clean the waste, it's not big deal for the eco system of water. You'd need a whole cargo plane full of poop to disrubt the eco system of water for a few hours before it restores itself. Plastic is the issue we face, especially micro plastic. Not poop. I'd rather say humans off beaches rather than animals. Animals don't bring plastic to beaches, humans do. Be it floaty water toys that often get forgotten or break in water, suncream bottles that often gets just tossed aside once empty, plastic bags to hold the stuff, etc
wonderful times for beautiful horses and their friends, the Kingsguards. Everyone is happy and free ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The horses are so magnificent!
What a wonderful outing for horses, riders and the public to see them having such a good time on the beach.
After putting up with those pesky tourists in London those horses and lads deserve a holiday lovely to watch
and ladies
What a total relief it must be for All the Royal Guards away from the not so polite tourists...
They have a longer one this winter. Eight weeks perhaps? The horses are on grass then

They do get a holiday at least once a year.
They go on grass in Leicester for 6 weeks too. There's 250ish HCV horses at Hyde Park Barracks
Lovely. So good to see them relaxed and having fun. I wish they could do it more often.
Such a beautiful video watch horses and riders have fun at the beach especially after all the hard work that they do god bless you all .
A horse that can roll completely over 3 times is a special one. That horse rolled 4 times!
These horses are very special and they know that!
Good to see them relax ,roll around they deserve it

Horses and riders having a lovely time
It’s so nice to see these great horses just having fun
It was amazing to see! We were really lucky
First time my pony saw the sea we nearly ended up swimming across the North Sea. I had to bale out and swim for shore.
Hopefully your pony came home eventually !
Horses are the best, even in the beach the tourists take pictures.
Adorable seeing these beautiful animals having a fun time
Makes me smile
Awe this is awesome to see them like this
Good to see all the horses having fun, along with their riders they deserve it ❤
It was so nice to see this
There is an old horseman’s tale that £500 is added to a horse’s value every time it rolls over!
Dang. My haflinger was worth at least 1m then. Shouldn’t have given it away. 💀

so nice ro seethe m offxuty
Who are the riders?
They look far too young to be soldiers or even grooms.
Beautiful beach too
They are members of the Household Cavalry, the Blues and Royals in this case. So yes, they are serving soldiers. 😊
Some soldiers are very young.
Get the damn dogs outta there. Upsetting horses & riders. It's their vacation.
Evidently not the naturist area of the beach.
Pity 😂
