@@TravistheGREAT03 Untrue, puyo is just way easier to get into as it has lower skill ceiling, at equal skill tetris would win, but it is way harder to get to that point in tetris. No one in this tourney including suisei are that high skilled in terms of tetris, while puyo is you learn setups and you are set (at least in beginner).
To those few haters against Marine for dominating; she literally practiced for this event. Battled multiple people, trained on the hardest difficulty until she almost lost her mind. She earned her wins through hard work.
@@Infearmal While Marine wasn't gonna be beaten in the tournament, I suggest you take a look at Lui's match against Sora iirc. Whether knowingly or not, Lui put a lot of pressure on Sora with comparatively fast and continuous attacks. There's ways to play against puyo and puyo will have to accomodate. Even at lower levels it's possible. At higher level play one can effectively stun puyo players, all because puyo garbage (unlike tetris) takes time away where time is key.
Wow, Koyo-chan was really serious in this match, not even on practice said that lol The trigger for Koyori start practice Tetris everyday was actually the first time Marine defeated her, I'm impressed she did a lot of progress from zero in few weeks. Too bad that was not enough for Marine's puyo puyo, it's really insane the speed and combos. After the tournament, Koyori asked Marine about how to play Puyo Puyo It was really fun. Wish they organize another Puyo Tetris tournament on next year
Yeah, Marine was a complete monster in the entire Tetris Puyo tourney. Everyone she faced, including Suisei after winning the tourney, got completely destroyed by Marine, and Marine wasn't even struggling almost the entire time she was playing.
the way of puyo, give them any breathing room and they will destroy you before you do anything. tetris is the opposite. you can attack at anytime but relatively weak hits. the berserker vs the theif
At first I thought puyopuyo vs tetris is quite unfair then after I watched hololive tournament stream I saw JP kid streaming tetris with 3k rank and destroy(or getting destroyed) in less than 20 second Every match. So maybe it's fair in PRO level.
Damn when i watch the fullstream i didn't even know and focus that marine trully make 9 chain combo!? that's to much...! XD i know after watch the clip, get confused when sui say "that's end... that's done for koyori, u can't beat the master of puyo" what for? the game still on going, koyori position is still safe, and that's for 9 chain combo... of course it's end for her XD
I was there live and its so painful to watch like there's a murder happening right in front of me and i can't do anything😆😅. But glad to see them having fun, looking forward to more holo tournament aside from mariokart and this.
Damn bro Koyori just got Yamcha'd by Marine 5 times in a row And she only got her first lose (still won 5-1 tho) from Sui at the end of the tournament Is there someone that can exceed Marine?
Koyori sounds cute because she was talking some trash. But it turns out that Marine practices the game on maximum difficulty, so if she can't at least win the game on that level, she has nothing to do.
Well as a puyox2 Tetris player too hard to fight against puyo if your not fast builder at Tetris Even just 4 combo in puyo can kill Tetris player But Tetris need 4 wide to defeat puyo Hope next year tournament puyo player Tetris player separate Marine will win puyo Korone will win tetris
I loved this so much, don't get me wrong, but puyo puyo vs tetris is so unfair lol. I think tetris vs tetris would have been more fun and fair but regardless still a good time.
Tetris vs tetris or puyo vs puyo for sure. lol Puyo has a lot of burst offense if the player knows what they are doing plus the longer the fight prolongs, the harder it gets for the tetris players to win. Ironically the top 4 in the tournament at the beginning was Puyo vs Puyo and Tetris vs Tetris with grand finals being Puyo vs Tetris so tetris players can definitely hold themselves and is possible for them to win. Tho to be fair, I can't take points out of Marine for being the Puyo player, Her level of skills at Puyo were really high and she was speedrunning every single opponent in the tournament, puyo and tetris players alike. lol Those hands were rated E for everyone and she delivered them with speed and style. Also, seeing my fave 2 JP Holo members duke it out in the exhibition match after the tournament was really amazing regardless of who would've won.
Many people don't seem to notice that Puyo Puyo has quite the big advantage over Tetris. Marine, of course, is very strong in Puyo Puyo, but most other Puyo Puyo players had a way lower skill level compared to their Tetris opponents and still most of them either won or lost very narrowly. Korone, Lui, Okayu and Koyori all showed a much higher skill level than any of the Puyo Puyo players except for Marine. Also since some people mentioned the match against Suisei, Suisei had controller problems (or the wrong controller) and still hold herself quite well. I dare say that it would've been way closer if she had the right controller, probably not more than a one point gap (I know it sounds like a cheap excuse lol, but those who saw how she usually plays, should know that she made too many mistakes).
@@NousagiCaptain I'm just stating facts, but feel free to think what you want. Rankings clearly show that only peak level players are able to conistantly beat Puyo Puyo, because they are good/fast enough to prevent them from doing chain reactions. Everything below the highest levels is dominated by Puyo Puyo. Again, Marine is VERY STRONG in Puyo Puyo, but Suisei is still way more skilled in Tetris than Marine is in Puyo Puyo. Marine even said herself that in a previous match of the two, Suisei's extremely fast clearings gave her ptsd (and again, it's clearly visible how Suisei misplaced several blocks and was overall underperforming compared to usually). Suisei was able to hold herself well enough against world's Nr. 2 Tetris player, that's quite an achievement tbh and I'm still going so far as to say that even without controller problems it would've been a close match with a high enough chance for Marine to win.
@@sacrashin If Suisei was a better Tetris player than she is right now, she would have won. But she isn’t, so she didn’t win. And that’s Okay. That’s not a bad thing. If she gets faster she can beat Marine next time. I play ranked competitive games too (League, SF, Dbzf) what your doing right now is saying “ I only lost because he used this character, if he didn’t use this character I woulda won.” That’s lame, just get better so you can out play them. Or use the same character. Marine won, badly. Give her the props, without the “but” attached bro.
@@NousagiCaptain your comparison isn’t quite fitting this case though. It’s a clear difference if both characters are equally strong or if one is obviously at an advantage. But that has nothing to do with the match between Marine and Suisei. I only said that without Suisei‘s controller issues the match would’ve been way closer, not that she lost because of the disadvantage (and it’s obvious that this is no excuse, because many people noticed that she isn’t playing as good as usual, being slower and misplacing blocks). I know that she has the skills to make up for that disadvantage. I’m giving Marine props, I even say that she’s obviously very strong. And on top of that she trained even more to win this tournament, which is admirable. I like Marine and Suisei equally (neither of them is my Oshi), so it’s not like I’m trying to defend Suisei because of fanboy reasons or something like that. The argument about the disadvantage was only about the other players, where it was quite obvious that most of the Tetris players were more skilled but still either lost or had a very close win, because even though they were quite good, they weren’t on the level to counter/prevent Puyo Puyo chain reactions.
@@sacrashin I mean if you weren’t trying to downplay Marines win it’s all good, Ive just been seeing a lot, like ALOT of people trying to discredit Marine lol because they built Suisei up in their head to be unbeatable. I thought that’s what you were doing too, my bad then.
