Very interesting debate and valid argument set by Mr. Asher Azeem that our systems "attitude & temperament" is unquestionable.
As a tax professional for the past 15 years in Karachi associated from "1992-2007" with various esteemed CA's and law firms I have arrived at this conclusion that our economy has been burdened with so many tax laws and surcharge on various utilities that are implemented and collected in the name of "social/economical developments" through "direct/indirect" measures has only been utilized by governments for their political reforms and expenditures or paying back debts that governments borrowed from local and international agencies in the name of "social/economical packages" which has never been utilized to improve the standards of living and infrastructure of our economy to enable and indulge/encourage people to file their tax returns
And the main problem that we face in our society at large is "accountability/conviction" where silently "deals and settlements" are made and individuals are allowed to continue their activities as if there was no crime committed.
