  • Economic relief or national defence? After India’s nuclear test on 11th May 1998, a war like situation emerged in Pakistan. Episode 1 of ‘Project 706’ unveils the details of what actually happened in the last 17 days.
TCM presents ‘Project 706’, an exclusive account of Pakistan’s pathway towards nuclear bomb. Did Pakistan smuggle nuclear technology? Was India planning to attack the nuclear facility at Kahuta? The series answers all the relevant questions by giving glimpses into the many lesser known stories.
TCM’s five-year journey has been about telling stories that people want to hear which mainstream media has been neglecting for decades. We want to disrupt the status quo by delivering engaging content which empowers impassioned voices and impacts social change. We are defined by integrity, grit and ingenuity and this is what makes us do what we do.

When I was watching the video, I had goosebumps because of the fact that in those perilous, testing times and increasing pressure from uncle sam, our leaders, our defenders and our bureaucrats did not budge. At that time, we decided that Pakistan's survival was hinged and depended on flexing our nuclear capability to the whole world. Despite having an economy which was going down the drain, we emerged victorious in our resolve. As a common man, witnessing the current political turmoil that our country is facing, it breaks my heart that today we have bowed down to these American imperialists.

The problem is that our government or establishment whatever you want to call it don't have any guts to think as a independent state they scare from the moment that usa block aids and support for Pakistan. They scare from a long term planning to stabilize Pakistan they scare from taking hard decisions that's the reality. usa is not an all out single villain in Pakistani history it's our ummah chummah mentality and inferiority complex.

But that generation was better and patriotic in real sense, current generation isn't at that level, too polarised, watch Netflix whole night and watch 'American' and hindustani content and then blame its own institution.
That's why that generation stood up to the task, and current generation is only damaging their own country.

    • @beautyzline5194

@@farhanathar2256 What do you mean by american and indian? The indian content was also famous at that time but even more famous than its in today generation and the the thing about Netflix and american content is I don't find any problem with it or niether the rest of the world they creat some one the greatest movies and series' but the reality is that the most of the pakistanis don't even use Netflix etc so saying that this generation is not patriotic enough because of Netflix and america is nonsense you don't have any national interest of your country for yourself. Afghans are getting into the country day by day but no ones care who's mistake is that. Why this country is so lawaris and had no waris think it for yourself for a moment. If this country started to think about national interest and thier real rights not that islamophobia or ummah chumah one than everything will be on its way good.

It's a pity, Dr Abdul Qadir is no more. But I would suggest put his clips on what he has said on different channels so that he's relevant and also present in the video. Though most of the times he has said NS lies about all this but we can still add him
