  • 24/07/2015. On the "Bus Eireann" (national bus company) bus route 215, in Cork city as dusk begins to fall. Route 215 travels to and from the village of Blarney (of Blarney Castle fame) a few miles northwest of Cork city via the city centre to the relatively new shopping development of Mahon Point and the neighbouring residential area of Jacobs Island in the south-east city suburbs.
Travel on public bus transportation in Irish cities is generally safe, comfortable and convenient. The video starts at South Mall, the city's so-called central business district finishing on Skehard Road, going via the suburb of Ballinlough.
Video is taken from a front seat, upper level of a double decker bus. Double decker buses are typical on public transport routes in Cork, which is Ireland's second largest city and in Dublin, the capital. Video quality isn't so great, taken on a simple 7 inch Alcatel Onetouch tablet. Cheap and cheerful. To avoid the occasional annoying squeaking noise, you might want to turn your volume down a little : ) Just a typical bus ride in a typical city.
