First week back my phone and car broke at the same time. It was just so nice to see someone else going through dealing with reality, missing their partner, friends, other city, but stepping up and going back and just doing hard. adult. things. on their own. @@josie2956 yeah its so hard unless you have a work visa and sponsor moving between the UK and US is really tricky, I think by choice a lot of people would move between countries more if it wasn't such a hard process

@@gingerthingx It may have been due to COVID, I was there recently on work visa and I know there were travel restrictions on leaving the country if it wasn't for work, education etc. But I didn't pay too close mind to them as they didn't apply to myself.

The same thing happened with my car in LA! I don't know where you are but CarNerds in Santa Monica is an incredible auto shop. I legit miss them even though I'm in NYC.
Trying to make that happen! It’s a bigger process and conversation than most people realize! Takes tons of time and money and patience to plan a future in one country while considering the other persons family, work, etc. 💗
@@ardenrose I moved to Scotland from the US to be with my boyfriend! It was a tough choice and definitely a tough legal process! That’s for sure! You’re wise to take the time deciding but live wherever feels like home, with whoever makes you feel at home! I miss my family everyday but I see them once a year and they come see me once a year! Whatever choice you both make I know will be a very well thought out decision! Good luck! 💕
Yes 😭 I basically kept thinking I would be going home “next month” for an entire year 🥴 if you remember early covid days, it was like “this’ll be done in two months!” So I kept paying my rent thinking I would be back WAY sooner 🙃
Just a tip, you can't leave a car not running like that for a year & expect it to work when you go to use it again! No hate, just something for her & anyone reading this to keep in mind if you own a car you haven't driven in a while. The battery will stall after a while.
Yeah I didn’t mean to stay in the UK for a year and I fully anticipated coming back to something not so fun like my battery being dead after being gone for so long 😭

my guess would be that it's super difficult to get the visa for her to move permanently to the UK, without being married it's really hard

A US tourist visa allows you to stay in the UK up to six months, but you're not legally allowed to do work (of any kind) on a tourist visa.
