Riverdale isn't supposed to be realistic. It is based on a series of comic books. The characters are meant to be exaggerated and kind of ridiculous, because that is how the comic books were.

Comic books and tv shows are completely different so you don't accept the same thing from a comic book and a tv show ...... If you want to get the comic book vibe, just read the comics then ?? Cause you can see they tried to make it more realistic! but it kinda failed .... that being said, I personally still liked watching it... but it could've done better! Although the visuals were really good for a "teen show" !
Exactly. It's certainly fair to not like it because it's so exaggerated, but it's not like the writers aren't aware they're doing it. Even the cinematography is dramatic, and the colors are over-saturated. It's highly intentional, and I love every second of it, and I feel no reason to be embarrassed about watching it. I can't wait till it comes back in the Fall.
