- In this interview, mrekk talks about how he controls his nerves despite the pressure that the community puts on him, and he also gives some tips for controlling nerves in both solo and tournament play.
This is part of a series at osu! University where we do a week of interviews with different top players and dive in deep on a specific topic. The goal is to dive into a slightly different aspect of the week's topic in each interview.

Thanks for watching!
It sounds like this interview is more nerve wrecking than playing osu for him lmao
I feel like mrekk is the kind of player who doesn't really overanalyze his playstyle or like thinks about the theory behind certain stuff in the game. An interview with mrekk in general about how he plays, approaches improvement and his mindset etc. would therefore probably be easier for him and would probably be a ton of useful info too
agreed
yeah, i definitely would love to see an interview on how mrekk trains and approaches improvement
@@potato4687 he doesn’t i don’t think he just plays
Nerve control
1. like or like, ugh I- I- I don't know.
2. Like, when like something happens.
Example: In a tournament a lot of people get nervous and to control your nerves you- you just gotta not be nervous I guess?
it's pretty hard to explain tbh especially if you just don't use any methods to control your nerves. He simply played more to get used to it, no special methods or anything.
@@osuplaeyurreallygood the try and true method of osu
brute force
also dude it's a 15 year old kid, you can't expect him to have concise explanations for every aspect of his mindset or a god at public speaking
@@YashBudhiraja I understand that and have problems with that myself and thought this could be funny putting his words into a definition-like format.
@@SpyPabloSanchez fair enough lol
homie said he was 15 twice lol
yes
i feel him, i say same thing twice when i get nervous
I think with the "it's just a game" thing, it's a matter of who is saying it on whose behalf. It's fine to say it to yourself on your own behalf, but you don't get to decide what things mean to other people.
If I lose a match and tell myself "it's just a game", then that's fine; no harm no foul. But if somebody else loses and I tell them that "it's just a game", then that's not cool; it's not my place to tell them what their values are.
@SinQ it's just game tho

after carefully analyzing this interview, i have come to the conclusion that controlling nerves is a simple problem that can be solved by just gitting gud.
so basically play more

What
I was about to fc through the fire and the flames and then i started thibking about how cool it would be to show my friends this score and then i missed like 5 times
Just dont care the score tho
just don't think
sounds like a skill issue
mrekk is making me so awkward for him during the interview LOL, i could tell he was nervous
"i don't mean this as a flex, but i'm so used to getting 1000pp scores" amazing
I liked it when he said "and now I’m here" at the end of his sentences couple times
mrekk's voice is so calming

@@kenneth7239 cookiezi has spoken like once or twice on other people's streams and Vaxei has never spoken on stream
Great video!
I would like the mental block of reaching a certain level in skill to be explored. (basically when playing more doesn't improve your skill even after consistently playing and trying to improve for a long period of time).
Another topic would be subconsciously playing vs consciously for improvement or setting a "good" score.
