Sharon, I would have fell completely OUT at that store. They could have locked me in there ALL NIGHT so that I could look at every bolt of fabric they have. Boy I've will have fun in that store. You picked some beautiful fabric. I love the fabrics you have on.
Oh, so many pretty pretty things. First off, that yellow batik looks fabulous on you with your coloring. Your hubby knows his stuff. The textured circle silky - I love that! The red/black knit is really nice - definitely light-to-dark on the poly silk border - summer or no, that linen is beautiful - you really made out like a bandit. And I really am going to have to get that Vogue pattern eventually - 😘❤️
you make me laugh, so much! I love that you confess the same weakness...I always go in with a list and specific yardage...and it always goes right out the window! That haul was GORGEOUS!!
I received a notification about your fabric haul but we had company so I just am watching now! So jealous you were able to go back to Minnesota. This is the first summer I have not seen all my family there, miss them so much! Great fabrics and your enthusiasm makes my day! Happy sewing!!!
Looking forward to seeing what you make. I think light to dark, not the other way around. I wish we had similar warehouses here in Perth to go to..very isolated here from rest of the country. When I see your videos, it makes me want to sew!!! Happy Saturday and keep safe. Lorraine
Hi Lorraine! I know I’m really fortunate to occasionally have access to SR Harris; I wish you had one near you also! That makes me happy to know that you want to see after watching my videos 🥰
Love the light/dark gradient satin type fabric. As to which on top - well it depends on what you want near your face. Also light colour draws attention so maybe you would like that away from where you don't want attention?? And the grey linen - I wouldn't put it near your face. You have such beautiful strong colouring and the grey may look drab on you. But hey, its only fabric :). Have fun!!
Hi Vicki! I like dark near my face but I’m getting a lot of feedback to go light to dark. Although When I’m ready to cut it out I think I’ll drape it on me s f see what I like best.
LOVE, LOVE your SR Harris fabric haul. I live 5 miles from the Burnsville location and have noticed that the supply of some selections are down. Have switched over from summer to fall/winter sewing. Generally get my fall clothes out by Sept 15th as the nights are much cooler and some of the days can have that fall nip. Love your high energy videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks! It was so fun to be back visiting family and friends, and of course SR Harris. You are so close that location! We lived about 20 minutes away. I was so happy when they opened that location. I wonder if we were ever in the store at the same time? Maybe! 😀
Love watching your videos. Always so cheerful. Love the way you team up fabric to patterns. Please could we have a peak at the line drawings when you show the patterns. We really are so limited both fabric and pattern wise here in our little town, East london , South Africa , 🇿🇦 oh I would do light to dark. Happy sewing .
Hi Sharon! Yes, I’ll do my best to remember to add the live drawings too! Oh I feel your pain, we are sooo fortunate in the US with the options we have easily available to us.
I would go light on the top, dark on the bottom with your gradient border print. I’ve been getting carried away with buying fabric too. I’ll have to find some places to wear my special clothes when we stop quarantining so much. Hopefully, someday!
Hi Donna, I think you are right. Light to dark is probably going to work best. And oh, how I cannot wait to be able to go some place where I can wear my “fancy” clothes!
Amazing set of fabrics. Always light on top and dark below I was told years ago! Mind you I like wearing black tops and white trousers 🤣. Living in the UK I find it fascinating that you still dress for the seasons even though Texas stays warm all year. I’m sure British people would wear shorts all year round in your temperatures 😂. Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see what you do with the fabrics. 😁 x
Haha! I wear black tops with white pants too! And I think we can toss some of those old “rules” out the door 👍 I’m originally from MN with four distinct seasons and love the warm winters here. People that have lived here in TX most of their life seem to wear winter garments (coats, hats, gloves) when it gets to about 50° . Which to me means “time to think about buttoning my coat”. 🤣
Sharon ha ha. You know you can't go to SR Harris with a list, especially at Sid's location in BP. I mean -- you can go with a list, but good luck finding what you have on that list! It's a treasure hunt for sure.
Hey great fabric haul. Does SR Harris sell online? How about sewing up a Hawaiian style shirt for your husband with the fabric he picked? I have the same vogue dress pattern with the cape back and the famous vogue maxi caftan. Did you bring the neckline up on that? Yes have your friend show her haul. Great video.
Hey Carmen! No they don’t sell online 🙁 I never thought of sewing a shirt for my hubby as he usually likes non-bright colors (beige and lt blue)- but I asked and he said yes he’d wear it if I sewed it 👏👏👏 I didn’t bring the neckline up on the 9253 maxi the first time I sewed it but I will this time.
Hey Cathy! That was from the Burnsville location. And yes, it was a full bolt when I purchased it. I don’t remember if there was two bolts or not though. And I can tell you’ve shopped there before, because you know how fast fabrics sell 🤣😂
Hi Wanda, thanks for the feedback. Yes I’ll work on remembering to show the pattern and number closer to the screen. By the way I do include the pattern numbers in the description so that might help too. Thanks for viewing!
I just can’t understand people who only wear ‘season appropriate’ wardrobes! Why waste time and money sewing or buying garments in fabrics that you love for them to be out of service for 3/4 of the year? I get it if you work in the fashion industry because that’s about business and making money but for us consumers and home sewists, if you want to wear a pretty, pastel pink and green, ditsy print, lightweight cotton sundress on Christmas Day, DO IT!!! Just throw a cardigan over it to keep you warm and you’re done! Buying or making ‘this seasons’’ colour/design/print/style trends and only wearing them for a few months a year is just nuts to me because you get caught in a constant loop of trying to keep up to date and adds to the excessive clothing waste mountain, donating/gifting or swapping with family and friends helps with that issue to a small extent but few people do it. I’ve been donating my unworn clothing for years now and have made a pact with myself that I’m going do the same with all of my unloved and unwanted items (unless it’s broken or unsuitable for its intended purpose) from this year on because I can do better. Rant over, lol 🤐
I never get tired of seeing fabric hauls. Gives me an idea of what is out there and pairing them with the patterns sparks the imagination.
I love looking at fabric hauls too!

I received a notification about your fabric haul but we had company so I just am watching now! So jealous you were able to go back to Minnesota. This is the first summer I have not seen all my family there, miss them so much!
Great fabrics and your enthusiasm makes my day!
Happy sewing!!!
Hi Linda! I can relate to missing family ... this has been a hard year to be so far away. I hope you get to see your family soon too. 😘
First time watching your videos, such beautiful fabrics !! I love wearing white in autumn!
Thank you for stopping by! Yes, white in autumn is so fresh looking 😍
My sister lives in St. Paul she took me there last time I visited. It is amazing. I loved the vast assortment of trims they offer also.
Oooh, so you know how overwhelmingly amazing that place is! I never even made it to the trims this time!
Looking forward to seeing what you make. I think light to dark, not the other way around. I wish we had similar warehouses here in Perth to go to..very isolated here from rest of the country. When I see your videos, it makes me want to sew!!! Happy Saturday and keep safe. Lorraine

Omg-I love your blue tunic! Gorgeous💗💗💗
Thank you 🥰
Light to dark for sure ❤️
Thanks Tina! 🥰

Thank you Sara!

I could see some nice flowy pants in that pretty batik.
Great idea. Thank Emmy!

I'd go light to dark but either way, it's very pretty. Happy sewing from Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks for your input! It is a pretty piece - hope you’re enjoying some sewing time in Melbourne! 😍

Emmy so true! Haha! It was always so fun when Sid was there - such a character. Yea the treasure hunt is half the fun!
How about a shirt for the hubby from the yellow batik?
Yes! I never thought of that 🤦🏻♀️ He doesn’t usually wear bright colors but he said he’d love for me to use it to sew a shirt for him
I would do light to dark ☺
Thanks!

Just a thought though - could you cut out the top/dress on the straight of grain and have the two tones go vertical on you?
I could try that - Thanks for the suggestion Donna.
What do you quilt as well?
That French Terry! Which location was it at and was there any left?????
Hey Cathy! That was from the Burnsville location. And yes, it was a full bolt when I purchased it. I don’t remember if there was two bolts or not though. And I can tell you’ve shopped there before, because you know how fast fabrics sell 🤣😂
@@SharonSews yay I am much closer to Burnsville! The trek to the original location is almost an hour from my house.
We must have lived close to one another - I was only 15 minutes from BV location
I’d go light to dark.
Thanks!
can you put the patterns and number close to the camera. Thanks
Hi Wanda, thanks for the feedback. Yes I’ll work on remembering to show the pattern and number closer to the screen. By the way I do include the pattern numbers in the description so that might help too. Thanks for viewing!
Thanks, I finally found it after I sent you commit. Thanks again.
Light to dark
Thanks!
