Cheers for the shout out. Looks good for a 2015, very nice. I like the colour. I would need to ensure I have earplugs. Looked like a lot of fun through the twisties. Well done. Have a Happy New Year!!
No worries at all thanks for keeping me safe on the roads. How cool is the colour bloody love it. Ear plugs are a must for this thing haha Happy new year to you also. Thanks for watching 🤙
The thing with used VRods you can pretty much guarantee the things have been flogged to within an inch of their life.Great review as usual Gnarly keep em' coming 👍
Haha this is very accurate, every v rod I've seen in person is doing a burnout or on limiter 🤣 would love one as a weekender though. Cheers mate have a good new years and thanks for watching 🤙
Great Vid Gnarly, bought me one of those Bad Boys 11 years ago, A word of advice dont ride them like you can afford to rebuild them Many parts Obsolete, and what there is available are running out, put a VnH competition on, one of those wakes em up
Cheers mate, hope I did the bike justice they are under rated. That's a good point I didn't do any limiter bashing or burnouts like I usually hear riders doing but I gave it a good test. Oh okay awesome that's good to know. Thanks for watching and have a good new year 🤙
Cheers mate, I'll do my best to try and get one for a decent amount of time. Maybe harley corporate could hook me up with one for awhile. Thanks for watching 🤙
They do look bloody awesome don't they ! I always thought if I owned a harley it would be a night rod but I was wrong haha. Love the fatbob 🤙 Thank you!!! Have a good new year
Definitely a fun bike to ride I agree. I was told even from standard the front were set at different heights and some would scraped the frame or from qtr fairing. This one didn't do any of that but i think the suspension was changed abit. That's good to hear the suspension made it better. Thanks for watching 🤙
You obviously can't ride and just like to look weird do you have the costume vest and dunny pot helmet with a angry look you would be the guy we say don't come near us at the servo
Always loved the look of these bikes. They have a mean stance. Looks like they handle and push hard through the twistys. How did the jacket go?. Looking for a summer jacket myself. All the best to u and family for the new year mate
Same mate ! They look like a drag missile haha. Oh s**t I just realised I didn't give it a run down at the end 🤯 it was bloody awesome actually. Breaths well and is still fully pekev lined with armour I'm considering buying one as its still well priced. Happy new year to you too and thanks for watching 🤙
Hey Matt... you forgot to mention the jacket you wore. I love these motorbikes too. We had two of them in my area with under 5000 miles for about $6,000.00 They didn't sell very quickly though. Really liking that blue color! Not too fond of those wheels. I would get one of these V-Rods if I didn't already have the Breakout. The power of this V-Rod is outstanding! I believe it does need a sixth gear to help with the RPM's. As for the exhaust sound... if they do have TAB pipes on it... you could always change out the baffles for a more pleasant sound. I think I would fit on a V-rod better than the Breakout because of my shorter legs. Anyway... another awesome review on an interesting motorbike! John...
Yeah I totally forgot to do a run down at the end. It's bloody awesome though felt breathable and light and the price seems readable. I'll try and do a more in depth review in the future but I'll see how I go. Yeah they bloody sell like hot cakes here they are very hard to get hold of. Definitely needs a 6th !!! I must just be getting soft but my ears were getting smashed 😅 thanks for watching hope you have a good new years 🤙
5:45 This has an 18.9 litre tank" while zooming the camera in Ummmm...... When you zoomed in, did you notice that there was no fuel filler/cap visible?
Yeah look it's under the seat 🤣 but... I'm not going to put the camera on the seat it would look even funnier 🤣 or maybe just should of done that? Hahaha
Cool bananas, @Gnarly_Harley When they first came out, I absolutely despised them. Then I found out the engine was a porche design. They had great power & a great lean angle. I started to appreciate them more. Then, when I had a really good look at them, I thought it really looked like a drag bike, which I thought was cool. Then, when I found out the fuel tank was the air box, I thought the lower centre of gravity with fuel under the seat would be a bonus. Yes, I would like one in my garage. I wonder what they would look like without the airbox cover & a bug catcher scoop or something similar instead? Happy trails, Cowpoke
Ohhh mate I love these bikes haha. I’m not one of those bogan night rod riders but they’re something else. 🫶👍 Happy new year mate 🍺 it needs another gear.
Yeah mate, they're a missile, couple of the bro's ride em, I hate being stuck behind them in the group coz the noise is deafening after a while...but yeah I reckon they're a mean machine, fun to have a blat on, but I'll stay with my SG and leave them to the younger lads wif their red Nikes etc lol.
That's it mate, was doing my head in so much higher frequency. I'd own one for a weekender haha. Hahaha noone can get upset because it's true... Thanks for watching 🤙
Agree mate I bloody love the fatbob so much it's my baby 🤣🤣 definitely great condition for its age beautiful machine. Have a great new years also and thanks for watching 🤙
We all know they tuff quick and fun. But nowadays to own is different be careful if you thinking of throwing a lot of money for one now because parts are nearly impossible to find. This is my opinion owning one and my mechanic says absolutely the same thing he wouldn’t even buy one if it was cheap and they stopped making parts for them a few years ago so it will just get harder and more costly . Just some advice for people looking to buy one
That's true mate someone else said the exact same thing. I don't think I'd ever own one because I personally couldn't afford to fix it. Appreciate the feedback this stuff is always good to think about. Hope you have a good new year and thanks for watching 🤙
It confirmed my suspicion it would probably perform like my old twin cam Breakout on steroids 💉!! Love the look too the rake & stance but you probably guessed that one already Matty 🤙😎
Yeah they really do, rev like no other cruiser ! Haha oh for sure, it just feels faster due to how hard it revs but in the 0-100 didn't do as good as most of the bikes. Thanks for watching 🤙
Awwwf that would be bloody awesome ! Maybe one day if I can do a gnarly rides episode on someone's. I'll put it out to the community and see what happens. Thanks for the idea
Handling is better than the breakout and fatboy due to the lean angle, power is better also, but I personally think the others are more comfortable and have more soul and character.
The new Sportster S is what I feel is the closest in concept in the HD range. Interestingly, it's been a slow seller just as the V rod was when released. Perhaps they will gain traction with newer riders. The problem is the Revolution Max engined Nightster and Sportster S have some of the most hideous looking cooling systems... The V Rod has a neatly centralised unit, hidden well from every angle.
Yeah that's a good point I'm still yet to give it a review but I've heard it's an awesome machine I'm pretty keen. Hopefully it lives up to the hype 🤔 Have a good new year and thanks for watching 🤙
@MrHeath1971 as in comparison ? The night rod would be closest engine performance. But the breakout is still the coolest cruiser in my opinion, just looks so cool and has the heart and soul
Not a fan of the look of the night rod. What’s your thoughts on 2025 models anything new or changes coming I’m sure Gnarly Harley has the inside info😜 maybe your next video!
Oh true !!! I think they look pretty mad haha. Ooooh I'm away at the moment but I'll try and get the goss when I get home. Would be a great video thanks for the idea
That's good to know I've been in a few conversations with people about this and people seem to get upset 😅 someone told me it was just head work and others said porche done everything I can't seem to find a straight answer lol
I agree mate, definitely need a bagger and another gear that the other Harley's have. The torque on the 117s and 114s just feel smoother too. Thanks for watching 🤙
Ahh true I heard they aren't very popular over there ? I think they are bloody awesome either way. Haha it's a fanny pack I think you call them ? But now blokes are wearing them over the shoulder gucci brands etc
Vrods are iconic but dated know , compact , uncomfortable on long hauls and definitely needs 6th gear......go ride the pan anerica ,next gen revolution engine with VVT , active suspension an a fairing ....they leave the old rods in the dust
That's true mate, very iconic but they have an image now. I've got a review of the pan america on my channel and also did a 2 day trip away camping on it aswell. I bloody love the pan america, wish I owned one ! Thanks for watching 🤙
Yeah they are sought after and production stopped in 2017. I've seen them upwards of 50k but highly modified, I guess it's like older vehicles too have gone up in value. Bloody wild isn't it haha
Hectic review brother, dusted me Ntays n bum bag off for the vid felt heaps tough watching it. personally not a fan of that night rod, but I think blacked out night rods look good. Maybe next review A softail slim or a 103 breakout.
Thanks mate, hahaha that's the way 😅 Ntays N that ya og day, full isspay lad 🤣 I never was aswell but now I've been on them they're a great machine just get a bad image. Oooh that's a good idea I'll see if I can get hold of one. Thanks for watching 🤙
I laughed at the "Grab your Bum Bags" line ... its in nice condition for 10 years old
🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's funny because it's true. It really is isn't it. Thanks for watching 🤙
Nice bike. Thanks for proving it's possible to leave traffic lights without smoking the tyre while bouncing off the limiter.
Hahaha very accurate mate. Yeah I don't ride like that not my style. Great bloody bike though definitely gave it a hard go. Thanks for watching 🤙
Cheers for the shout out. Looks good for a 2015, very nice. I like the colour. I would need to ensure I have earplugs. Looked like a lot of fun through the twisties. Well done. Have a Happy New Year!!

Love the look of these bikes. Being 6'6 it's a shame theyre just too cramped for me. Great vid🔥
Looks awesome! Thanks for doing this review!
It was definitely under rated in my opinion. Had so much fun. Thanks for watching 🤙

Thank you!!! Have a good new year
Very nice bike!! Great review!
Cheers mate I had heaps of fun. Thanks for watching 🤙
They're fun to ride. Mine is fitted with Olins suspension. Lean angle was RS., the frame scraped. I raised the rear by 1", it's ok now.

Launch machine! They go hard haha, what a weapon 😂😂
Seems dangerous, licence may not last long on one of those bad boys 😂
Yeah they really do, rev like no other cruiser !
Haha oh for sure, it just feels faster due to how hard it revs but in the 0-100 didn't do as good as most of the bikes.
Thanks for watching 🤙
@Gnarly_Harley Still did alright, not too deadly haha. 😂
All good, can't wait for the next one 🤙
@KatWhitworth yeah just enough spice haha. Thank you
Fully sick
Haha fully mate !!! Thanks for watching 🤙
Night Rod and the V Rod great motorcycles. In my opinion they put down by association good video Gnarly
Now find a turbo Rod or pro charged to ride, next level :)
Awwwf that would be bloody awesome ! Maybe one day if I can do a gnarly rides episode on someone's. I'll put it out to the community and see what happens. Thanks for the idea
How would you compare this to modern bikes e.g breakout, Fatboy, night train better or worse
Handling is better than the breakout and fatboy due to the lean angle, power is better also, but I personally think the others are more comfortable and have more soul and character.
Damn thing GOES like the clappers.... nearly needed dental work ! And a change of jeans...should've worn my BROWN jeans ! All the BEST for '25 ! 👍😎👍
Goes bloody awesome doesn't it, definitely surprised me. Hahaha true that 🤣 thanks mate all the best to you too. Thanks for watching 🤙
I like the motor but that was it. My friend had one and liked it. Unfortunately, he hit a truck with it. And it was totaled.
Yeah the motor goes hard doesn't it very impressive I was shocked lol. Oh wow many sorry to hear about that. Hope he was okay
The new Sportster S is what I feel is the closest in concept in the HD range. Interestingly, it's been a slow seller just as the V rod was when released. They will keep rising in price!
This is very true mate. They rarely get traded into the shop they were telling me
@@Gnarly_Harley Breakout or Night Rod for a boulevard cruiser?
@MrHeath1971 as in comparison ? The night rod would be closest engine performance. But the breakout is still the coolest cruiser in my opinion, just looks so cool and has the heart and soul
Now that you liked the performance . Now go try Nightster Special then the Sportster S both will shock you .
I have had a few people say that actually, I'm keen as to try them out just waiting for a demo to come in. Can't wait!! thanks for watching 🤙
@Gnarly_Harley as a fellow TH-camr if you're ever in Melbourne you could have a ride of mine

I agree mate, definitely need a bagger and another gear that the other Harley's have. The torque on the 117s and 114s just feel smoother too. Thanks for watching 🤙
