A great use of this is in making one vegetation item look more natural when copied multiple times to make a planting bed. There are extensions that randomly scale and rotate, but if you are just doing a line of trees on a house lot, or something else small, a quick scale of a few instances of the one component can be really effective.

I'm a newbie, I'll like to ask where is the reference to make the shape, the component in the window.

That was really cool. Thanks Aaron. Plenty of thoughts about how I can use that in the future are now running through my head.

Is there a way to "container scale" the length of something like a 2x4 stud component with an angled cut on one end (think studs in a gable end wall) and have it keep the same angled end cut on the stud but change the total length of the stud? I've tried this, but it ends up distorting the angled cut.

Definitely possible with an extension called Fredo scale. It’ll allow you to only select a section to scale but leave everything else undistorted. In your case the angle would stay the same but you could increase the length of your 2x4.

@@jakewyatt716 Thank you!! Fredo Scale did exactly what I wanted. Bravo!

Small caveat... Fredo Scale certainly did the job of independently scaling the angle cut 2x4s in my example. However, it also created separate unique instances for every rescaled 2x4. In afterthought, it had to do that. This is the same way I had handled this situation in the past by manually creating multiple unique edited versions of the angle cut 2x4s. Fredo Scale's approach does have the advantage of it automatically creating the multiple unique versions of the 2x4s.
