      What do you mean by a "space elevator"?

    • @ryanmarbut1035
      @ryanmarbut1035 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nat Jobo - Essentially a space elevator is a hypothetical structure/tower that would start at the base of the Earth and extend out to the very thin parts of the atmosphere (possibly stratosphere I get them mixed up). Of course constructing a tower this tall is very problematic, the assumption right now is that you would use some sort of exotic material like carbon nanotubes or graphene. Hopefully this helped.

      Steven Van Hulle PayPal was sold to EBay by Elon Musk. They screwed PayPal up. Meaning, they haven't continued to innovate in the direction Elon was heading with it.
      Elon said in an interview that all money by this point should have existed only in PayPal if his vision would have been developed by EBay.
      Imagine, near zero transfer fees between countries. PayPal Banking with zero fees, massive global online financing schemes at near zero cost, loans would look very different when you don't have to pay employees to run the bank.
      Who knows what new attributes could emerge out of a system where all money is digital and no one is running it but algorithms.
      Right now, people who work at the bank need to be fed, we need to automate banks to get rid of bankers.

      it's a common thing among geniuses.

    • @rlucenio1995
      @rlucenio1995 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      +Mohammed Alhabib indeed! Their thought process is so fast that speaking those ideas/thoughts can't catch up. I believe Alan Turing (British pioneer of computing science, and deciphered the Enigma back in WWII) was portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game with the same stuttering.

    • @lucapontiggia3123
      @lucapontiggia3123 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +Mohammed Alhabib I'm sorry, but this is such a gross generalization. Even an idiot who is speaking nonsense will stutter, as ignorant thoughts come to mind faster than they can speak. The ability to speak concisely and with purpose is a skill that needs practice and development. There will be a subset of highly intelligent people who can communicate in this manner, and there will be another subset of equal or greater intelligence who have not invested in the skill of accurate speech.
      We need to stop the classification of what a "genius" is, as this just allows us to justify and be content with our mediocrity as we do not share the same attributes. Even more dangerous, are the people who will mimic such mannerisms in to excuse them selves from real hard work and taking responsibility of their short falls.

    • @rlucenio1995
      @rlucenio1995 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Luca Pontiggia We didn't mean to offend anyone, nor are we generalizing or classifying, "all" geniuses stutter. Were just noticing that it's a "common" trait to some geniuses because of the speed of their thought process.
      And yes you're right, not all that stutter = genius. Some stutter because of a traumatic accident, some stutter because their thought process is slower.
      But basically, Aristotle, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, all stuttered, however Einstein and Shakespeare didn't. We aren't saying every genius stutter, just noticing that a number of them do. Well in my case at least.

    • @lucapontiggia3123
      @lucapontiggia3123 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Rozelle Lucenio Sorry, re reading my comment now, It comes across not as I intended. I wasn't by any means offended, I am just slightly frustrated at how people love to box this thing called "genius" by giving it traits. There is nothing wrong with finding relations and making a statement about it, as long as people don't just make silly correlations. I see what I said was's a little charged due to content unrelated to the previous comments. My bad.

    I'm a huge admirer of Elon's work. From creating a video game, to carving the way for a sustainable, interplanetary, future twice as fast as anyone else would have. Mars is just the beginning. Imagine all of the hidden bright minds we have today, still making their way to the spotlight. Who knows. Maybe we'll even be interstellar in my lifetime. We never thought we'd be holding first stage a.i in the palm of our hand (smartphone), containing a chip the size of your pinky nail, with more computing power than a super computer had a mere decade ago. If you believe hard enough, anything is possible. Thank you for inspiring me Elon. I value you, not as a role model, but as a mentor for successfully manifesting your dreams into this reality. Live long and prosper.

      ***** I agree. I am top 4 in my high school and I do not like our educational system. It goes a lot deeper than I could ever discuss on here, but after taking sociology, I have rebelled a lot against some of my teachers(not in a bad way.) School always rewards hard work and good grades, and preaches that it educates you, but this is a huge lie. You do not earn wealth from WHAT you know, instead, it is what you DO with what you know. This comes from Napoleon Hill, so this is true. And notice how the public school system came into existence when large industries did. They needed obedient loyal workers, so the schools were made.

    "My theory is that you have the ability to think at a system level of design, pull together design, technology, and business. T.B.D, into one package, synthesise it in a way that very few people can, and, this is a critical thing; feel so damn confident in that clicked together package. But you take crazy risk, you bet your fortune on it. But you seem to have done that multiple times.. I mean, almost no one can do that.. Is that.. Can we have some of that secret sauce? Can we put it into our education? Can someone learn from you? It is truly amazing what you have done." - TED curator Chris Anderson to Elon Musk, founder of PayPal, Tesla Motors and SpaceX.
