@Speed&Kustom Even if its "part of their culture", it's still disgusting... Its sexualizing minors... And no, we shouldn't get "used to it" smh. Did we get used to women only working in the kitchen in the past? No! We revolted against that idea and now women can freely follow their dreams. We are free to discuss and try to change this society for the future generation, so they can live more freely and not be worried about perverted people like that.

How about inserting an electronic sensor chip into men & boys who can't "control" themselves. Every time they get aroused without permission, an electrical charge is emitted. Hah!
The fact that they think a female student with a ponytail is “exciting” is concerning. Male *TEACHERS* are definitely supposed to be adults with a matured mindset.
What can you expect from a society whose response to sexual harrassement and assault on trains, instead of actually punishing the harrassers and assaulters or improving the self defense laws, was to just put " women only" in some train cars, of some lines, at certain hours. As if simply saying that car is only for women would even stop an predator to get in it.
@@nessyness5447 finally someone acknowledging the truth. Japan places women in an inferior position and minimizes the sexual violence they experience, not to mention all the sexualization of underage girls in media. They just want to save face internationally rather than address any of their cultural issues with gender.
@@kurtgomez4171 I think, based on what I see from this video only, it wouldn't do trick. Because in case a situation arises where the woman prefers to be on a mixed vagon and gets harassed, then wouldn't the same society tell them "why did not choose the women only vagon", and put the fault on the women again? Women shouldn't have to choose the women-only wagon so that they would be free of male harassment. That occasion shouldn't exist from the beginning. Basically women shouldn't have the need of choosing only women's wagons for feeling secure. They should be secure regardless of the wagons in a just society.
Whenever a school board says they’re banning a type of style because “it may excite the boys” it’s really means “our male teachers keep staring at you”
I'm a male and I've never had to control myself over a simple innocent ponytail because the idea that any form of dress code can you make you lose control is utterly idiotic and only a sick mind would even contemplate that concept. What does that say about you!
@@warpnin3 japanese bullying is absolutely awful. they write stuff on ur desk, throw ur school shoes in the dustbin, throw water at u and all kinds of nasty stuff. its very visible to the teachers. japan doesnt care
This is even more cringe when you consider the people that came up with this rule were a bunch of middle-aged men. It's not like school children have any say in these policies. It was literally a bunch of old perverts sitting in a board room talking about how the back of school girl's necks "sexually excites" them. Actually wild.
Japan has a major issue with sexualization of schoolgirls. Many women talk about how the time in their lives when they were most groped and harassed on trains and subways was when they were a student in uniform. Schoolgirl is basically the most popular porn category in Japan. Possessing child porn wasn't even illegal until less than 10 years ago. Hiring "schoolgirl girlfriends" is not uncommon for grown men to do. I feel so bad for them.
Exactly. Japan has a centuries long problem of sexualisation of minors and it refuses to do anything real about it, rather tries to hide it. School kids shouldn't even have to worry about these things....
The real problem is that there are too many perverts in Japan. Whatever women there wear, or whether they have ponytails or not, the perverts in Japan will still find stuff to 'excite' them and do pervert stuff to women.
as a woman, this is so troubling. underage schoolgirls should not have to concern themselves with issues like this when they are just trying to complete their education.
"There are no nationwide statistics on how many schools still impose a ponytail ban, but a 2020 survey suggests that about one in ten schools in the southern prefecture of Fukuoka prohibited the hairstyle." One in ten schools in Fukuoka prefecture. That’s a huge difference from the sensational headline.
It's troubling as a man too. It means when they become adults they're still going to be brainwashed and traumatized from even moderate self-expression. That means there will be fewer self-actualized women walking around. There will be a lot of throwaway automaton women to choose from neurotic about following rules no matter how stupid those rules are.
If a man is aroused by a woman's ponytail (or her appearance), then it's HIS problem, not hers. He is the one who needs to be fixed and something needs to be done to him, not her!
actually that's just natural human nature.....sexual attraction is normal. What is abnormal is having perverse small minded adults control the behavior of children and distracting them with such perversity from their studies and their innocence.
Agreed. it's the same as people telling girls to not wear super revealing clothes to not be a victim of rape when in fact it doesn't matter what they wear since even an infant gets raped which is just horrendous.
@@ilovehorses38 exactly, being attracted to someone for something is normal, that you can’t control. What isn’t normal is acting on those things or being a creep. There’s a big difference between coincidentally/accidentally looking and continuing to purposely look at something in a bad way
The woman who argued that the ban is disrespectful to boys makes a great point. Like, what does that say about your respect for male students if you say they’re mindlessly obsessed with girls’ necks and incapable of controlling their impulses? If you respected boys like people you’d have normal expectations for them (which ties into the argument of the woman who pointed out that everyone shows their neck in the summer anyway)
Yes. I thought this was an excellent point. I'm amazed no one mentioned the with the boy regulations, every boy is forced to show the nape of their neck. Are they not worried about the boys being safe from sexual attacks?
9:55 it's very troubling that the school board thinks that CHILDREN are sexually arousing adults. Pedophile teachers need to be in jail instead of telling kids to not wear clothes that are "arousing."
Yes... also the japanese way of handling these things needed an overhaul.. when i lived there, i caught an japanese guy like mid 40s trying too grope this school girl in the train some ppl saw it Me and my bro both grabbed him.. the ppl thought we were starting trouble, lucky our host explained we got off at the girls stop and walked her home talking too her about it we got her home, her mom was outside confused she explained we got invited for dinner.😅
I think the most terrifying portions for me, as a girl with a lot of fear and paranoia about being sexually harassed or the likes, would have to be the "underwear checking" and the 3-4 clips of the male interviewees saying, "Rules have to be followed, or else others will defy." In response to ponytails being "sexual" and "exciting". Like, I think that part truly just sums up how these rules are kept up. Because of the one thought that is kept consistent by even just a few participants in a row; you just have to follow the rules. Just accept it. Then, linking it back to that woman explaining how as children they were told that they'd be at higher risk of being molested for wearing non-white underwear, that sinking feeling in my stomach just became a pit. It's awful. So, so awful. And so, so heartbreaking.
Young girls should not be responsible for the sexual impulses of men/boys. The conversation should be shifted to teaching the males responsibility about their sexual behavior. I love what the one man said about "the person who made the rule probably had a fetish with pony tails/necks"
Sorry but these people ARE educated they just choose to behave that way. You can tell them 100x times and they still won't understand, it's like trying to "cure" a rapist or a murderer impossible.
@@baph0met rape culture in Japan is actually a problem, they are not educated to it, my friend went to Japan and was sexually harassed multiple times and people did nothing about it, they shrug it. They literally made a women only train. I wouldn't call that education.
Yeah, it should be obvious to make them do group activities and learn how to properly interact with women without need to ban girls from wearing sexually arousing clothes or ponytails. Its frustrating to think that its ok to minimalize interaction between girls and boys and then deny girls way to express themselvs and boys treat like sexual predators. By doing so you create more distrust with boys and actual sexual predators that don't know how to express their sexual needs.
They won't. It's Japan. From what I've seen from Japanese youtubers who do surveys and social experiments, Japan is a patriarchal country. They think female gender is inferior to them. And it's run by old men who are traditional minded. So they won't point out men faults and wrong doings. Instead would oppress women and impose restrictions on them.
Sexual attraction goes both ways. If a man can be sexually attracted to a neck so can women. So I guess men should be forced to grow out their hair because a woman can be sexually attracted to the nape of a man's neck. Both sides are just silly. Sexual attraction should be controlled by the person who is attracted and shouldn't be the concern of the other person. Take responsibility for yourself rather than blaming other people.
Young men are attracted to women no matter what they wear, what colour is their lipstick. It's just how human sexuality works. So there's no sense in banning individual style, you have to work on respect between girls and boys, men and women. People who respect each other don't do any inappropriate or violent things.
Exactly, people can be attracted to someone's eyes or their way of talking. And by "attracted", it does not have to be in a sexual way, but it can be in general. We are often are attracted to certain people as friends because we like how they look or behave. Now if a man or person cannot concentrate or control themselves, that is their particular problem, not one for the entire female population to deal with...
This sounds like a job for the burka!! But those salacious garbs do not cover the luscivious eyes of the womenfolk so burka + blindfold all the women! Also, in order to save space, we will abolish the free range women program and just stick them in cages and farms! /s Yeah, pretty sure that would just tickle another damn incel fetish *spit* It's sad how we gotta proactively educate the damn men to respect womenfolk as their fellow human beings and independent agents, not masturbatory aids. Sad because you'd think equality among genders (whatever it may be) would be a non-negotiable given...
There's something wrong with teachers who willingly waste school hours acting as fashion police when they should be teaching. If you can't control your gaze, your lack of discipline is not a girl's responsibility. Boys are humans who should be learning to focus, not animals helpless against carnal desires, and teachers should not be stunting their students' psychosocial development like this. If the weather is hot, why should a girl have to be prevented from dressing comfortably in hopes of keeping a boy comfortable? It's unfair to everyone
it's natural for male teachers to deflect the issues to protect their own wickedness. they gaze at the girls' exposed legs and thighs all day as they are seated wearing short skirts facing the teacher. the female teachers don't realize it or they are worried about their job because most likely the male teachers are their seniors or superiors.
As you could hear, there are also stupid rules for the boys...aren't even allowed to untuck their shirts. Just google how their uniforms normally look like. Doesn't seem too comfortable for the some either :D But I have to say, for me the thought , that the children should concentrate on school and not on their makeup, hair and clothes is positive. Just the implementation of so many stupid rules is a little over the top ....
Same here plus my classmates do have the freedom to have plds or personal device usage from the school and in fact all schools in my country do it(side hint:not phones but laptops bought by the minister)
Way to go Japan, shaming girls for not wearing white underwear instead of actually producing decent school uniforms that aren’t made out of thin air 😅 Ponytail shaming is on the next level, pervert who even suggested it should be fired immediately lol 😂
The part where they talked about the teachers checking the color of underwear of the students actually disgusts me. Seriously, wtf? Why would you even think to do that?
@@matreen427 Except that one of the interviewees clearly states that there was an inspection of what color of underwear the *boys* wore in his middle school at around 10:30. I don't think that's referring to bras. :)
It's funny how in my country, leaving ur hair open gives sexual connotations and that's why we have to tie our hair in schools. It's like there is no winning, leave ur hair open and we are asking for "it", tie ur hair and we are asking for " It". Such a sick world we live in
what breaks my heart the most is the quickness that some of the people deferred to "it's always been that way" and "rules are meant to be followed" despite the flat-out silliness and unfairness of the rules. The lack of willingness to simply consider whether or not the rule SHOULD be changed is the most scary part. "Unity and solidarity" should not trump the reduction of needless pressure, stress that ultimately leads to unhappiness and often suffering.

It's not that I was being super critical but just wanted to exchange opinions and was genuinly interested in others thoughts. But the whole vibe i got was that saying anything critical is seen as negativ and disruptive for the harmony. As someone from a simliar country as Germany it drove me nuts lol.

I think the problem is that even if they ban ponytails there will be guys who are attracted to loose hair. Whatever they ban there will always be someone who is attracted to something else, so they'll never solve the problem like that. Instead they should educate them about it. I am also greatful I live in Slovenia, where we don't have rules like that. I can't imagine myself following all those rules. I'd be too nervous that I'd break them and it would effect my studies.
@@starzies ....you mad genius 😂 that actually sounds like a good idea! Maybe some are even attracted to loose hair, so this can solve the problem lmaooo
I am a Japanese male and I can never understand the feeling of being excited by seeing the nape of a woman's neck. Adults who grew up in the rigid educational system of the Showa era try to forcefully tie up today's students.
Even if you are sexually attracted to that, I feel like teaching kids to repress it in a place of learning/work is important. They can’t and shouldn’t have the whole world cater to them. Cuz literally anything can be a fetish and by that logic they should simply segregate men and women in Japanese society entirely if they don’t want to educate boys on how to exist near women.
This is offensive to the boys as treat them as potential offenders or perverts. And of course women as subjects not individuals with human rights. We passed this unmatured stage like 100 years ago. Tones of books written and explained what this is about.
I'm not saying this is every male in Japan, but there are extremely high rates of sexual harassment in the country. I think the problem is the lack of sex education. It just doesn't exist there so people don't know how to properly deal in a healthy way. Instead of banning stupid things like ponytails, the government and schools should focus on educating people on how to channel their feelings.
How strange… Ponytails, at least in the USA, are associated with sportiness (we tie up our hair to keep it out of the way). Leaving one’s hair down is more often associated with femininity.
Doesn't matter what kind of hairstyles they using, in my country some female students wear headwear called hijab that cover ALL hair, neck, ears, using baggy clothes that showing no skin, wear long skirt that reach shoes, and still be victim of rape or sexual harassment, fix the mentality first
Exactly! Both teenage arousal and sexual abuse have always happened, in every society no matter what women are wearing. It wasn't "invented" by modern western fashions becoming less modest, or whatever. In the US we complain about girls showing their shoulders or wearing leggings, in Japan they wear uniforms but still find ways to complain about ponytails or *underwear color* of all things, and in your country literally everything could be covered but rape still happens. It's *almost as if* ... it's not about the clothing, and never has been. Thanks for sharing this comment :)
Those headcovers should be banned. What If my religion tells me to walk around nude in public, does that mean schools should allow me to go to school all nude in my birthday suit? Double standards.
This must be Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei or any othe muslim dominated country. It is indeed dumb, and the rules must be banned if there's a rule that enforce students to wear that. Read, the rules must be banned and not the right to wear it. If some students are consciously choosing to wear it then it must be ok. This is just about common sense really.
Okay but the fact that the person at 10:01 was told when they were only in ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE school that they were subjected to sexual excitement is absolutely disgusting. At that age no child should have to concern themselves with being sexualised or objectified by a bunch of twisted middle aged men who most likely came up with all these rules. Let kids be kids.
"we were required to wear white underwear", pretty sure that's a lot of these pervs fantasies. I'm beginning to suspect these schools are also moonlighting as a source of child porn for their board members.

That older woman talking about how she was told in middle school (probably like 11 or 12) that they would be more vulnerable to being molested if they wore non-white underwear/bras is so shocking! Also the fact that white shows BETTER under white tops (I think most uniforms have a white blouse) makes me wonder if anyone was actually aiming for that :( For those of you who don't know, white camis/bras are very obvious if worn underneath sheer white/light colors, while grey or nude colored underclothing is less visible
I get the feeling that white is more available and affordable to people living in remote towns, especially in the past when these rules were made. idk why but it seems like supermarkets always sell either white or patterned, sometimes black. not disagreeing with the sentiment, just saying that's probably why it's specifically white.
@@lbow5479 But the adults paying attention to the UNDERWEAR COLOR OF CHILDREN(OR ANYONE for that matter) are the problem. Seriously? How would anyone even regulate this? It sounds like telling females what to wear according to what fetish they want them to go for.
you know what, some perverts even fetishises white underwears because of it.. the thing i don't understand is if the adults are aware of the danger of the colours showing, why not just make uniforms with darker colours or less see through materials. When I was a student, I always wondered why do we have to wear thin see through/white uniform tops when it's not even cheap to buy and then the schools would ask us to buy new ugly underwear too.

Yeah, this ban doesn't make sense especially in a safety standpoint. There's a reason science labs in many schools require long-haired students (girls, boys, nonbinaries etc) to tie their hair into ponytail - loose dangling hair poses a safety hazard in these labs especially where you have open flames such as from Bunsen burners
This is interesting to say the least. It seems that Japanese schools have way stricter dress codes than American schools. The funny thing is despite people realizing the system is silly and probably disturbing (on the basis that grown man are being accomodated for being sexually aroused by children), most japanese still cling to the idea of unity and tradition. These ideals are good, IF the final result actually makes sense to protect the people who are upholding it. Following a tradition or a way of being just because it has always been does not mean it is the best. Maybe the best thing for the community as a whole is CHANGE as a whole, to CARE and PROTECT the whole, instead of trying to protect a system that is hurting them.
Imagine having to dye your hair black if your natural hair color was lighter. I feel like the old men in power that make the rules are projecting; seeing schoolgirls' napes excite them so clearly all the school boys are the same. This is an issue the Japanese turn a blind eye on. The adults grew up so repressed and they just ignore the many results of that repression because they are culturally averse to confrontation when they should be tackling that head on as a society and just sweeping it under the rug and instead just repress their youth even more who then grow up even more repressed than those that came before them.
NGL for schools who have to force students to dye their hair black this actually sounds a bit racist towards non-Japanese/non-Asians XD And I'm saying this as an East Asian. Imagine if students were forced to dye their hair blond if they attended schools in Europe? :O The outrage it would get

I worked as a French teacher in secondary schools in the UK and I was asked to check the students' uniforms everyday. Honestly, I couldn't care less. We don't have school uniforms in France so I felt very uncomfortable policing people and their outfit. I was asked to reprimand students if they were wearing nail polish, bracelets, if their uniform were not perfect, if they were wearing their coats inside etc. What if they're cold? Who cares if they wear their coats. Why do I have to dictate how someone regulates their body heat. If they don't cause any trouble, why aren't they allowed to wear a freaking coat? That was absolutely ridiculous and such a waste of time in my opinion. The girls had orange faces with huuuuuge eyebrows drawn on, but somehow them wearing a bracelet warranted a scolding? Who cares, honestly? And then I got scolded by my head of department because I refused to waste everyone's time with this nonsense.
I'm not from the UK but seen them schoolies aplenty while there. Uniformity has it's 'reasons'. If you do not care then how could you ever understand anything? You ever asked or no one bothered to explain? Or just a mindset of it's been like this forever? You should visit some asian countries like Indonesia. Not just the uniforms. I've seen colums of them march to school. In North Korea those kids are armed even.
Uniforms are a part if teaching, it teaches responsibility, commitment and cleanness, even though they might seem irrelevant and unnecessary to you. In the UK, as well as Latin America and most Asian countries wear uniforms.
Honestly schools in the UK care a lot more about uniform than bullying. You might not get a detention for bullying someone and teachers won't even bat an eye but the moment you wear the wrong coloured socks in the wrong season or a hoodie because the school heating's broken, that's when things get serious. I think it shows the absolute inefficiency of Japan's political governance, but I'm glad they at least listened to the people's voice this time.
Compared to how long it takes to get things done in the US, I think the Japanese system in this case was extremely quick to respond. Additionally, did it take a year to allow schools time to change their rules and for parents to be notified, or did it take a year to change the rule and then even longer to notify the school/parents?
@@MCNeko6554 It seems like it took a year for the consideration and this year they abolished the rules in Tokyo and some other prefectures. Maybe this one was relatively responsive, compared to how usually it comes out. But I think it's because this is the local government issue, and it's just about the obviously outdated school rules, after all. And also I hear that many other prefectures are still in consideration, so I don't know if it's actually quick. But honestly, I don't know how things are done in other countries, so maybe I'm not really qualified to judge it.
@@shachihoko4877 Thanks for the response! I haven't studied Japanese politics in depth so I wouldn't really know if this is fast or slow for Japan, but it feels like a good amount of time to me. I get the impression that the local government made sure that they were considering everyone and I like that. I hope the other prefectures hurry it up though, haha.
@@MCNeko6554 Oh, really? It’s literally the definition of the bureaucratic inefficiency in the Japanese language haha (お役所仕事=“governmental office work” but it sarcastically refers to the inefficient bureaucratic process) But now that you mentioned it, maybe this one itself wasn’t that bad? As a Japanese I have big doubts about the Japanese politics in general and I couldn’t shake off my impression. But maybe you’re right and we should praise the people involved in the decision this time. I hope the same too!
It's kinda weird at how Japan is presented to be advanced yet the mental health of the people are still going down the drain due to cultures especially "the elders are always right no matter what", which is unfortunately common in Asian countries. Of course, there are countries too with similar problems and each nation has their own flaws. However, the stigma and high tolerance of questionnable actions are extreme in Japan
I don't get the whole nape of the neck thing, but I've been to Japan in the summer time and not allowing to tie your hair up is abuse in that humid heat. The people making these rules are projecting and should be removed.
Also you can still have a short bob cut and therefore still expose the nape of your neck with that haircut 😅 I mean the whole thing doesn't make sense but they are also completely inkonsequent about that. Also necks are sexual but short skirts are still allowed/required to wear?
@@raccoonchild Funny how there are also adults who are not even turned on by looking at the naked napes of children necks. Clearly there're some pedophiles and victim blamers on the school board.
It's mostly the old perverted Japanese men that have dirty minds like that. If you look at Japanese social media many young Japanese does not like the idea and blame the perverted old men for that.
And reading all the comments here from people all over the world, one thing I can say for sure is that school rules have made students do things that ultimately messed the students up. Imagine being a 13 year old, young girl worrying about how her neck 'would sexually arouse' boys/men around her, and the fear that goes along with it. Imagine a 13 year old young boy worrying about what if his female friends think wrong of him, and the self respect and character being questioned. Imagine these young students getting to know about 'things' that might 'arouse them and others' (at the age where they should be knowing and learning concepts of science and maths and art) just because these middle aged perverts and pedophiles can't keep themselves in control. The world really needs to change for good.
It’s a cultural thing. In early Japan the nape of the neck was considered very sexual. Wearing a yukata or kimono you are supposed to show the nape of the neck. Japan is a very leg forward country so wearing shorts is very acceptable but at the same time showing cleavage is a big no-no. It’s all just about different culture and views
@@novicelifts5197 the one who wear short skirts are actually breaking the rule, if I remember correctly, Japan’s girl uniform have the skirt longer than the girl’s knee
So, in Japan a child ‘isn’t’ allowed to be sexually targeted by an elder male but we still have laws stating that women should dress more ‘modestly’. This just proves that even the government knows that their legal system is crap.
I also think a LOT of adults have this resentment they take out on the younger generation so the cycle continues. I feel this is true around the world. We live in a different world now so they need to accept that just bc they suffered doesn’t mean everyone should too & it was normalized
Yes I remember my Headmaster calling a meeting with my parents about me wanting to be allowed to wear trousers instead of skirts. He started by saying I was a problem & causing trouble, which my parents didn't appreciate setting that acusational tone. The headmaster stated that girls only wearing skirts was normal & always has been that way. I replied that does not mean it has to remain that way & gave examples of other schools which changed their rules to allow trousers in winter, only skirts in summer, or just trousers & shirts for all students. Then he made me leave the room, which I didn't appreciate. When alone he adressed my mother & said that she will have been forced to wear skirts in school too, so it's fine. To his surprise she said yes, she didn't like it then & she doesn't like it now. She also highlighted that was about 30 years ago & she really thinks they need to move with the times. Then the head tried addressing my father but he stated that it was impractical, he taught me many practical skills & said that it was needlessly limiting my movement. The headmaster was obviously surprised & the meeting ended up being very short. I did learn that I can trust my parents to support me & that they don't keep unesisary secrets from me, so that was a positive outcome.
Now that i am older i see how really bitter and resentful many adults are against children and young people. They truly think the young deserve to suffer like they did. It's hard for young people but i hope they won't take it so personally, the problem is with the adulta

I understand that Japan is collectively a conservative culture, but the fact that something so trivial like exposing your naple would be deemed even remotely sexually inappropriate for school is astonishing given how freaky the JAV industry is.
I don’t even know how conservative Japan is. It seems they are only sexually conservative when it suits men. Women and girls are sexualized all the time in Japanese media, including those aimed at children. Yet, women get shamed for showing their necks?
they're more of a selectively conservative culture, they don't want exposed necks yet they permit school girls wearing those short skirts. why? because short skirts are more suitable or convenient for CHIKAN. SMH.
It's Japan after all, I can't say I'm surprised. I remember watching a video from VICE titled "Schoolgirls for sale" Men could "rent schoolgirls" by the hour. The video was from 2016, I don't know if this whole "renting schoolgirls" is still a thing, but the fact that it was ever a thing speaks volumes about Japan. Anyone who has watched anime can clearly tell Japan has an obsession with sexualizing kids. Heck, possessing CP wasn't illegal up until 2014. Let that sink is for a second, 2014!! NOT EVEN 10 YEARS AGO. Something seriously needs to be done about Japan
Interesting. So, basically you are trying to cut down on sexual arousal and in the same time created the sexual arousal by banning it? Sometimes ppl want something more because they essentially cant have it. Like the one dude said, I believe that the person making the rules had a fetish and didnt want to get in trouble and to save perverts from getting in trouble all because they couldnt control themselves. I feel like doing that may have made it worst because ppl would see something sexual and get too excited, but if you see it enough after a while it becomes boring and not as exciting anymore IMO.
That's exactly what I was thinking! Enforcing those rules to make every schoolgirl and schoolboy the same basically take their singularity away from them and -among other things- they just become the flesh representation of that uniformized "schoolboy/girl" fetish... When you see stories of schoolgirls being harrassed by perverts on subways and so on it just makes the thing even more creepy..
Agree, it is like a 🎁 with torn wraping the less you see the more you want to peek. I am not against uniforms but the requirements go over the top with hair(cut, lenght, colour and style) and cut, material and style of uniform. The girls at my school are forced to wear a belt as accessory.
ikr, keeping things a mystery will excite people even more. like ankles in victorian era, or thighs a few decades ago. meanwhile nowadays most modern society is desensitized to short pants bcs it has become the norm
There's hand fetish too. What are they gonna do? Tell girls to wear gloves? There's a fetish existing for every part of the body, how do you stop this? How hard is it really to tell boys to respect girls.
Do you know that Teachers/professor are highly respected in Japan. Even when if they are called in court, the judge him/herself stands up. They are this level of respected.
Extreme creepy. Imagine telling students that they'd have to pay attention to such minute details because they may promote assault on themselves. That's heavily pre-loaded victim blaming for something that clearly seems to be a cultural issue if they have to be dedicated their own rulesets.
One thing I've never been able to wrap my head around that was repeated here was the white underwear thing. I was told not to wear a white bra with a white shirt, unless the shirt was very thick, because it is visible. Skin toned bras only if you don't want your bra showing through the fabric. I've tested it and yes, white bras under a thin white shirt is like a spotlight. As for white panties, those are very sexualized now. So the rule demanding them just seems weird.
Yes! Skin tones are much better for camouflage. White makes no sense whatsoever. Regulating undergarment color already makes no sense to me. But, if you're trying to keep it inconspicuous, white ain't it.
@@karyon1007 It's disgusting really, I could understand if they demanded all girls to wear safety shorts, but no, what must be followed is wearing WHITE undergarments that only falls behind to red.
Seriously I don't understand the rule of banning ponytail for female students. They had to walk a long distance to school for most of them and they'll be sweating, the best way to cool down is tying their hair into ponytail which is an essential mode of survival.
Man, here in brazil most of girls wear very tiny jean shorts showing almost everything and in Japan they're worried about ponytails, man that's a BIG culture difference
Thank you guy in demon slayer shirt. “Why do we have to accommodate to the perverts?” Unfortunately, the old geriatric leadership won’t change their minds.
When they said they should follow the rules, even if they didn’t agree with them, for the sake of unity…that’s such a Japanese answer😆 Definitely a big culture difference between Japan and America is unity vs individualism. I think there should be a fine balance between both. Extremes in either direction are never good.
@@baph0met anything extreme isn't good and individualism places so much importance on the individual self that it can create great selfishness and a lacking of care or empathy for others. we need to be focused on ourselves while also focusing on others:)
Essentially: "Male students go through puberty during school and that's a problem because we do not teach them how to deal with that, so let's put restrictions on the female students." This is just another case of some old dude in a position he never deserved to be in making an arbitrary decision that forces everyone to take it seriously (because such a person in a high position must know what they're talking about, right?). Disappointing (but believable) to see people take a spineless stance about "rules" and "harmony" on something so ridiculous. Literally anything can be sexual to a teenage boy (or a pervert teacher). It doesn't actually matter what the thing is, it only matters that girls (or boys) are doing it. In the west, for example, there have been times when girls letting their hair down was considered "erotic" and putting hair up was considered proper. When will people learn it's never the OBJECT that's the problem, but the way we refuse to properly address the SUBJECT.
@@allenk6373 No doubt you are correct, but I think OP is trying to say that Japan is an aging country which falls into the same category of the other countries you have stated.
"Why should we accomodate the perverts?" That's conclude the whole thing. It's not like the girls are showing their nipples, right? Victim blaming obviously are a norm where this "rules" are upheld. Japan supposed to be one of the most advanced yet can be very conservative which is quite ironic.
Only the fashionable young generation is open-minded. If you deep-dive into their culture you'll realize that at least 80% of Japanese are still very conservative, like how people say you shouldn't wear short sleeves in the summer in Japan 💀
Thee people that comment in this kind of videos are the most aware, then, going out to the real world… it scares me how still there’s so many people normalize sexualizing teens and children…
I think this facilitates the process of fetishizing even the most normal things, such as a ponytail, because they start to see it as something "sexual" and "taboo" while it is not.
@8:40 I definitely liked the point this girl made . That not all boys are same and even her thinking towards boys is also good and clean . This is what we call it as a pure " GENDER EQUALITY " thinking!!!! Love from India 🇮🇳 ....
In my country, teachers actually spend whole sessions policing the bra colours that female students wear. Anything other than white is banned. This is the very epitome of creepy, and I've found it so ever since I myself was in school, but apparently, no one here cares enough to do anything about it.
if they were so concerned, they should have made the uniform colours darker right, that way the underwear colour won't show.. i find it so utterly ridiculous sometimes
They shouldn't even think that white can't be fetishized (sp?) or found attractive. White colored underwear was my ex's (he was in his 50's) favorite over any other color because it denoted innocence and purity (I was NOT a minor at the time, but well into adulthood.... but I can still see the ick factor in his preference).
"why should we have to accommodate to the perverts" EXACTLY why should girls do that? it's like saying: if a girl dresses prettily BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO and she has the right to, and maybe got raped , people may say that's it's her fault for dressing prettily but not the perv fault.
We had strict rules regarding our hair and uniform back when I was in school. But it wasn't because of these absurd reasons. They were there so everyone would be uniformed so no one would feel left out and also for a sense of unity despite our class backgrounds (also because my school is more than a 100 years and the uniform has never changed much)
the short haired girl said all the things i waited for someone to say in this vid. women and men are both humans equally living on this planet. why should women sacrifice their identities and comfortability for the sake of accomodating men? when have men in history ever done anyting to accomodate women without getting something themselves out of it. Right. never. so instead of restricting young girls what to wear and what skin to show and by that simultaniously brainwashing young boys into thinking girls are indeed sexual objects to lust after and their normal human skin must be covered or they'll be blinded by lust and desire and uncontrollable urges....how about we treat girls te same as boys and teach them girls are humans just like them and deserve to be treated with manners and respect no matter what they wear just like you treat other boys. Cant believe im even typing this in 2022 seems like we're going back in time and history is determined to repeat itself once again
but they keep the skirts and white panty's , so that the teachers can sit at the desk and take some naughty picture's , fix the skirt issue first id say .
I feel the worse part of this is the forcing them to dye their hair. Hair dye has many damage chemicals in and when your hair is that young it can cause almost irreversible issues later on. This is beyond uniform and professionalism.
Actually there was a big story in Japan about this exact issue. I can't remember the details exactly but a girl had naturally light brown hair, but due to the strict dress code she was forced to dye her hair black constantly. Her roots were constantly checked to see if her head was compeltely black. Her scalp became damaged for obvious reasons. She developed mental issues due to the stress and also constant scoldings from teachers. I think at some point she stopped coming to school as well.
sorry, unrelated, but all of them sounded so articulate and everyone...E VERYONE? was so well dressed!!! especially that one guy with the double collars and mask loop!
And so it continues, males are expected to be unable to control themselves & women are treated as provocateurs instead of victims. This is infuriating & has to end.
Kind of sad that japanese people respond to just follow the rules even if it doesn't make sense for the sake of tradition and keeping the harmony of the group :'/
In my school the dress code says no unnatural hair colours or ‘extreme’ hair styles. On non uniform days we can’t show our midriff or shoulders, can’t have ripped jeans, can’t wear anything shorter than just above our knees and can’t wear shoes with big heels.
I think taking responsibility for our own emotions and urges, rather than expecting others to do it, is the best policy - education and critical thinking can do this. In this case, it seems to be a farce too, there's a taboo appeal (as there was with ankles decaes ago in the UK) which will just move on to the next body part, Infinitum. Normalise body parts which are unnecessary / impractical to hide and educate, we don't need to offload the burden of responsibility at someone else's expense.
My mom grew up in the ussr and she told me that in her school there was a ban on loose hair for girls😅 every girl would go to school with ponytail, interesting how different the mentality is around the world
@@taeblends idk about modest, but it's definitely more uniform if they all have to wear they hair in a ponytail, as you don't need to account for kids who are too lazy to brush their hair and therefore look bad.
Not to mention elementary schools boys have to wear short-shorts even in winter.

Exactly, like wtf
Sexual attraction goes both ways. If a man can be sexually attracted to a neck so can women. So I guess men should be forced to grow out their hair because a woman can be sexually attracted to the nape of a man's neck. Both sides are just silly. Sexual attraction should be controlled by the person who is attracted and shouldn't be the concern of the other person. Take responsibility for yourself rather than blaming other people.

I don't get the whole nape of the neck thing, but I've been to Japan in the summer time and not allowing to tie your hair up is abuse in that humid heat. The people making these rules are projecting and should be removed.
it's a culturally erotic thing that can be traced back to how geisha dressed and painted their faces and necks
@@lethaldream50 Funny how school children would neither know nor care about that.
Also you can still have a short bob cut and therefore still expose the nape of your neck with that haircut 😅
I mean the whole thing doesn't make sense but they are also completely inkonsequent about that.
Yes. This is what happens when you take cultural taboos WAY too far.
I agree so true

It's funny cuz in my country most girls can only do their hair on a ponytail due to most schools rules, dont let girls have their hair loose.
It's almost like all of it is quite silly :p
What’s your country if you don’t mind me asking?
It’s a cultural thing. In early Japan the nape of the neck was considered very sexual. Wearing a yukata or kimono you are supposed to show the nape of the neck.
Japan is a very leg forward country so wearing shorts is very acceptable but at the same time showing cleavage is a big no-no. It’s all just about different culture and views
@@ariana_208 yeah high school girls in japan wear skirt that are soo short i was shocked when i went to japan the first time
@@novicelifts5197 the one who wear short skirts are actually breaking the rule, if I remember correctly, Japan’s girl uniform have the skirt longer than the girl’s knee

I understand that Japan is collectively a conservative culture, but the fact that something so trivial like exposing your naple would be deemed even remotely sexually inappropriate for school is astonishing given how freaky the JAV industry is.
your point about the JAV industry is not a contradiction but exact causality.

Omg...
@Pray for🚨Russia,Ukraine, Myanmar I'm also from Asian country
There's hand fetish too. What are they gonna do? Tell girls to wear gloves? There's a fetish existing for every part of the body, how do you stop this? How hard is it really to tell boys to respect girls.

Extreme creepy. Imagine telling students that they'd have to pay attention to such minute details because they may promote assault on themselves. That's heavily pre-loaded victim blaming for something that clearly seems to be a cultural issue if they have to be dedicated their own rulesets.
Imagine how sad you have to be to be turned on by ponytails
Perverted men in power. Nuff said.
@@karyon1007 It's disgusting really, I could understand if they demanded all girls to wear safety shorts, but no, what must be followed is wearing WHITE undergarments that only falls behind to red.

They are really talking about white bras. The panties can be striped or have animals on them in most districts.
Seriously I don't understand the rule of banning ponytail for female students. They had to walk a long distance to school for most of them and they'll be sweating, the best way to cool down is tying their hair into ponytail which is an essential mode of survival.

Ban the men “aroused” by ponytails not the students who want to comfortable with their hair.
I think this facilitates the process of fetishizing even the most normal things, such as a ponytail, because they start to see it as something "sexual" and "taboo" while it is not.

In my country, teachers actually spend whole sessions policing the bra colours that female students wear. Anything other than white is banned. This is the very epitome of creepy, and I've found it so ever since I myself was in school, but apparently, no one here cares enough to do anything about it.
Especially since white shows up way more than nude…
if they were so concerned, they should have made the uniform colours darker right, that way the underwear colour won't show.. i find it so utterly ridiculous sometimes
"I think the person who decided on the regulations probably had a neck fetish" LOUDER BRO!!
This almost almost makes Victorian men who freaked out over women’s ankles showing seem sensible. ALMOST. This ponytail ban is insane!
but they keep the skirts and white panty's , so that the teachers can sit at the desk and take some naughty picture's , fix the skirt issue first id say .
@@dslight113 I agree. also to add, let girls wear shirts and pants, not every girl likes wearing skirts.
