Thank you. My fear of betrayal makes a lot more sense to me now. So many people want me to love them.. but they don't know how intense that can actually be.
Thank you for sharing Adam . You are such a wonderful teacher ! Me being a Scorpio Venus I found help in the ancient archetype of Venus, from sumeria. The first Venus was a Goddess of Love and war...I found She has this scorpionic Venus vibe in many of Her stories . And she also is connected with Lilith .
Wow! How much I enjoy your tutorials! My Venus is in Scorpio in my 2nd house (opposes Mars), and yep...I'm an I.T. Project Manager running 3 global Cybersecurity projects. Dang! I have fallen in love with astrology this past couple of years. 🤗
Jeez Adam - love your astrological musings - most days. Intensity, possessiveness, jealousy, the potential for (or unconsciously inviting) betrayal - yes. Consider also, a dissatisfaction with shallowness or frivolity; sometimes very loyal and devoted. Scorpio ain't easy but Scorpio placements (even Venus) can show an interest in depth psychology, spirituality, etc.
The metaphor of the watchdog that I used addresses this. Venus in Scorpio has a deep and instinctual sense of guardianship (hence loyal/devoted), and is on guard against potential threats (which you could also equate with the dissatisfaction with shallowness or frivolity). However, I would add that "dissatisfaction" or the need to address or guard against shallowness is more about Mars and Scorpio than it is about Venus. Dissatisfaction or discontentment isn't natural to Venus' significations, and so as much as we'd like to make dissatisfaction with shallowness a virtue, it is also, still, a symptom of the conflict that isn't easily satisfied in Scorpio and which tends to be an ongoing irritant for people born with it. The dynamic may relax somewhat, but that constant sense of dissatisfaction, the "love of war," is usually a constant. This very exchange is actually an illustration of Venus in Scorpio! I obviously appreciate your points, though, otherwise I wouldn't have responded. Meanwhile, I don't see Venus in Scorpio as any more or less oriented toward depth psychology or spirituality than any other sign. Insofar as Venus in Scorpio is compelled to look for beauty within the depths or within conflict and intensity, I can agree that she may be drawn toward any number of things that feature this marriage of qualities, but depth psychology and spirituality is far broader than the narrowness that results when we equate it with Scorpio (IMO). Meanwhile, I would also add that Venus in Scorpio, for as "dissatisfied with shallowness" as she can be, is also overly sensitive, and too easily triggered, especially when it comes to being described in terms of the very conflicts she struggles with in the sign of Scorpio. There is nothing wrong with Venus in Scorpio, and as I said, the tension between Mars and Venus is eternal, but the struggle of this placement for Venus is a real part of our tradition, and trying to call a rose by any other name, in my opinion, is exactly the kind of shallowness Venus in Scorpio suffers from as much as she rails against!
Yes, read that (your response to Lola) ... I think your metaphor of the watchdog - was throwing poor old Scorpio a bone (not exactly generous). BTW, I loved your take on Venus in Libra last month. You offered along with all that beauty, balance and harmony - unflattering possibilities of esthetic extremes (yup). It may have been you (can't remember) that talked about how the SN (Ketu) compels one towards spiritual things - sometimes via loss. So can Scorpio placements (including Venus). I think, the sometimes rigid frames of essential dignitaries - are sometimes flat (and pat). I've seen some colossal misses on the mundane front - wonderful astrologers tripped-up because everything was exalted (or otherwise in good shape). BTW, your batting average is FAB! Your videos entertain, teach and are sometimes a timely ego enima - just coined that ;) I really appreciate your personal disclosures (how you too, flub up and find your footing). Thanks!
Thank you for sharing! Most people do not understand or know how to use the language of planetary dignities, which leads to some fairly big misconceptions, but I believe it's far worse to not understand or use them at all. Anyway, we can agree to disagree on the rest. :) Thanks for the conversation!
I am from India & follow some indian Vedic astrologers and i am amazed to just how much deeply informative your content is. I do have venus is scorpio, 8th house, 23 years old. Birthdays on 27-12-1996. I naturally have a liking for things deep and dark & do get shit scared while exploring that side of me. Thank you for this video! Good day!
I've got Venus in Scorpio in the 1st house. Also have Mars and Neptune in conjunction in Scorpio in the 1st house. My rising is actually Libra (late degree) with Libra Sun and Mercury in the 12th house. Kind of interesting. I like people, but don't trust them. Got moon in Leo in the 10th house, Jupiter in Aries 6th house, and Saturn in Aquarius 4th house.
I wanted to listen to this since Venus will be in Scorpio with the Scorpio New Moon on October 28 2022...and I put I'm Acuyta Bhava Das, became angry when I couldn't find it, but then remembered your now Adam Elembaas. 😆
Interesting your concept of "affliction". In Traditional Astro, affliction is a popular term to depict any sort of Accidental Debility. In the same traditional branch, Venus lacks Dignity, that is, Venus is Peregrine between 0-14deg of Scorpio. Between 14-20 of Scorpio, Venus has Dignity by Term and between 20-30 of the sign, Venus has Dignity by Face. So depending the Degree, Venus may have Minor Essentiall Dignity or None (it's in Essential Debility), in the sign of Scorpio. Differently, a couple examples of Accidental Debility (affliction): Venus in Scorpio in strong aspect to Mars, Saturn (natural malefics). But yet, knowing the metaphysical qualities of Venus (cold and wet) and the traditional rulers of Scorpio, that is, Mars and Pluto ( hot and dry) it's easy to perceive the paradox.
I have Venus in Scorpio and beat a huge copperhead snake to death with a short board for being near my kennel with young puppies. Lol! I went insane with anger and don’t know how I managed not to get bitten. I also just looked up the chart of Ted Bundy: Venus in Scorpio
I know I'm late to this party but oh well. I have natal Scorpio Venus (0 degree, whole sign 5th house) and have always been attracted to a dark, exotic style/aesthetic and ppl. Horror movies, leather, brooding, etc. I am always aware of my shadow side, however I am comfortable with it. I acknowledge and respect it.
forgot to mention that my daughter has Taurus Mars and Moon (my moon is also Scorpio) and it can get quite challenging when we try to compromise lol. However she is Aries sun, Mercury, and Venus (rx), so it's safe to say she is usually the "winner"
Adam Elenbaas Indeed! Thank you for sharing your gift for astrology with us, I just discovered your channel today, snd this is a great find, my friend! Peace and love!
scorpio: sun, venus, mercury and uranus mars: leo libra: cusp/rising watchdog?.......not at all. I prefer "the jewish mother" afterall, you catch more bees with honey sidenote: scorpionic energy will never lead on to sniffing out the impending threat. not until necessary, which is elimination of said threat. I have a cap moon and strong virgo placements so that need for aggression is watered down.
My Venus in Scorpio has always struggled ~ well said! I’ve been celibate for over 10 years & this is the reason why.
Thank you for this explanation 💞

Great description! Especially comparing it to Tim Burton/Edward Scissorhands. Sweetness and darkness.

ps--we are obviously free to disagree with each other :) If I'm batting above .500 for you, I'll take it. :)
pps--see Lola's comment below from yesterday and my response, too :)

I don't want to pick Venus in Scorpio again, waaaay too heavy for me. Too serious. Thanks for this, it was a good appraisal. Have subscribed.
