Just line the Sharpened Volcano Fragment, being a Promo Weapon means that (if I'm remembering correctly) if Valve wants to change it, they have to go through and get approval from the developers of the game that it was made as a promo for (in this case, Deus Ex: Human Revolution) before they can do so. That in itself basically means that outside of Class Nerfs, such as an all around lowered firing speed or something like that, this weapon will literally never get a stat change. And by that same reason, is why the Sharpened Volcano Fragment will forever be "in the same tier as Melee Kirby."

Ayo, here to explain some weapons. The Enforcer breaks through resistances and shields at the cost of some stats i cant remember. Because resistances are an uncommon feature in TF2, it's basically a straight downgrade. Edit: The Enforcer's only downside is slower firing speed, which can help since the bullet spread increases after a shot then starts decreasing. It also does more damage while disguised which makes for a good first attack. Good weapon if you wanna do the reliable damage of the stock revolver and don't like the bullet spread coming from holding down M1. The Ambassador deals less damage but can headshot. It also has a secret stat that reduces your ability to aim by 90%. The L'etranger reduces your cloak drain rate and regens your cloak by 30% on hit, at the cost of damage. The Diamondback grants you crits for saps and backstabs, at the cost of damage. Man, there are a lot of 'cost of damage' revolvers. The Red Tape Recorder takes much longer to sap, but downgrades it then destroys it, rather than damaging then destroying. The Kunai gives you your victim's health on backstab as overheal, but reduces your max health to 70. It's also used by swipez, meaning 90% of people swear by it. The Big Earner regens your cloak by 30% and grants you a speed boost on backstab, allowing you to do long-range chainstabs and get away quickly. It reduces your health to 100 though. The Spy-cicle is basically the stock knife, but it melts on contact with fire to extinguish you. It also turns backstab corpses into ice as a cool effect. The Cloak And Dagger reduces your cloak for moving rather than over time, and lets you stop moving to regen it. As a downside, it's cloak drains faster. You know what the Dead Ringer does, but it's annoying because you ALWAYS know when it's used, but cant find the damned Spy until he decloaks.
the big earner restores 30% on backstab kill, the le'tranger restores 15% on hit. I tend to run both, and either stock or CND for the watch. If I'm in mvm, diamondback and Dead Ringer. You know, on those rare times in mvm you're allowed to play spy.
I think ambassador and dead ringer got nerfed. Amby nerf is that now crits have fall off so the further away the less damage it will deal even on headshots to the point that it won’t even deal headshot damage and just does like 2 on hit. Dead ringer you can’t collect ammo packs to replenish your clock after it had ran out. So you need to wait until it is fully charged again after using it. But most spies now use this as damage tanking tool and not to cheat death because it is way to obvious now when spy has used one to cheat death are at full health most of the time.

Just wanna say that you and these videos inspired me to come back to TF2 after almost ten years. I'm very bad at everything again (used to be an engie main, though not exactly a good one to begin with) and have been relearning the game alongside you, and loving all the reaction videos along the way. I always find it interesting when people rage at the Dead Ringer. It's ability of feigning death, at least in my mind, was taken from TF2's predecessor, Team Fortress Classic (TFC), where Spies had an ability to fake their death, and was available to do on command, albeit with some slight menu navigation or script. The only real difference between the Dead Ringer and "Feign Death" was that you had the choice on whether or not you made noise while faking your death, or not. I thought it was pretty cool to see Valve try to implement one of the Spy's lost features, though I understand the frustration of players like Soundsmith who are upset at those that don't use the Dead Ringer for it's intended purpose.
-The Diamondback gives you a free crit for every successful backstab and sapped building. -The Ambassador was nerfed in the pyro update so that headshots only count if they're within a certain distance to the spy, whereas previously you could get headshots from any range, making the Amby a discount sniper rifle. -The Conniver's Kunai is a weapon favored by weebs because the kunai is a Japanese throwing knife. -While the stock Sapper merely drains health, the Red Tape Recorder keeps the building's health intact, but instead drains the building's _level._ The major downside to this is that it takes longer for the building to finish sapping, which is the RTR's biggest flaw.
Also, both the ambassador and dead ringer have been nerfed into the ground since this video. Spy mains were pissed. And as someone who also hated the dead ringer and fought against it many, many times for many years, i fully understand his pain and was also so very happy for it's nerfing.

I think that dispensers also had their metal stores depleated. The worse of the sappers, but really can annoy engies. Sure does annoy me more then the normal sapper.

The Red Tape Recorder is what I like to call a "Worst-case-scenario weapon": a weapon that is useful in situations when you know that you can't do much, so you just try to do as much damage as possible instead. It is useful when you know that your sapper *will* get destroyed before it finishes its work (like when you deal with multiple engies and/or a homewrecker pyro). The damage caused by the stock sapper can be repaired with a couple swings of the wrench. The RTR however downgrades the building (and does so relatively quickly), and it will take a little bit more time for the engie to upgrade the buildings again and get everything back in order, not to mention he will have to spend 200 metal per upgrade.
I have the weirdest relationship with Dead Ringer. Before it's prelast and last nerf, i actually did not dislike it that much. Funnily enough, i only started to somewhat resent it after the last change to it. This might be because previously it was used by way more bad spies that had tendency to... well, not use it well. For example they would pop it at very low hp in the middle of a narrow corridor and instantly die. So maybe those people stopped using Dead Ringer or sth.
The more buildings you sap, the more crits your Diamondback will get. The more backstabs you have, the more crits your Diamondback will get. If you die, your crits will reset.

Since SS didn't went into details about the weapons,I'll just do it for ya. -stock weapons(aka the weapons that you have when you start the game) they write it down what they do. -reskins:promotional items for other games. You can get them either easily(crafting it by a class token+slot token+a scrap metal),trading(if you have some depth in your pockets,because the tradable version is not cheap),buying irl merch(you'll get a little code if you buy irl merch from valve store or other item,if you do,you either get a rare item or a vitage/genuene quality of an already existing item) or very hardly(because it was either a pre order bonus or the game where you can get them is shut down it's services)
I dont blame him. Back in the day when set bonuses were a thing, the Saharran Spy set was digustingly good. The Ringer had a really quiet decloak and had a longer duration thanks to the Le'tranger and also back in those days, people were nowhere near as good so the Eternal Reward was actually pretty good in a pub. Unless you were communicating via a call or chat, you wouldnt even realize your med just got stabbed. Unless you have a working brain and were paying attention to the kill feed. A lot of weapons are actually really good... Unless the enemy team has functioning brains

Diamond Back, stores one critical hits for each building you destroy by sapper or player you kill by backstabing, for that life only. Stored crits are lost on death. I still don't see it used much outside of MvM, a bit strange though.
alright changes the main ones are the ambassador and the dead ringer the ambassador has a headshot cap of 1200 hammer units and is too small to be useful the deadringer cannot be charged with ammo so you must wait 14 seconds between uses and is a pain to use the diamindback is now the punching bag as it gives you crits for doing your job (sapping buildings and backstabbing enemies with a -15% damage penalty enforcer finally works now though so thats good its not great but it functions at least spycicle had a bug with disguising but thats fixed Your Eternal Reward has a 20% cloak duration penalty and can disguise by using up a full cloak
I recommend lazy purple’s “How it feels to play tf2” it’s really funny and can give some good advice on weapons and positioning for each of the classes.
Just wait until you use the dead ringer with the big earner and L’Etranger. I guarantee you’ll make someone mad with this set if you play your cards right.
you shoot for a few reasons 1. you are a gunspy someone who is playing to use your gun 2. its safer as 40 damage at base makes it a reliable weapon to kill 3. you are retreating and stabbing your be costly 4. they are using the razorback 5. you aim can be more concistent than TF2's buggy melee ht detection
I personally don't have my hopes very high. That stunt was mostly just Gabe trying to lite a fire under valve employees' asses by putting a huge spotlight on them to get them to *ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING* which I doubt considering TF2 despite its impressive player count and earnings is considered 'uncool' among the higher ups at valve who are much more interested in jacking themselves off on yet another steam machine prototype (that totally won't fail this time) or some other ivory tower candyland bullshit like neural interfaces.
Spy is technically the worst class in the game only by virtue of how inconsistent the class is in practical application. People that hate spy more than any other class are either bad or are sniper mains that circle jerk on reddit A good spy is always annoying to deal with but very few can single handedly shut down an entire server like other classes can and even those that are good enough at it to achieve this can't replicate that success as much as they would have you believe I'm a heavy main at heart from a competitive standpoint (though I don't usually play TF2 with a competitive mindset or in a competitive setting) but if I could, I would take the next class update (when it happens in 3000 years) and give it to spy cuz frankly, he needs it the most

Amby nerf is that now crits have fall off so the further away the less damage it will deal even on headshots to the point that it won’t even deal headshot damage and just does like 2 on hit. Dead ringer you can’t collect ammo packs to replenish your clock after it had ran out. So you need to wait until it is fully charged again after using it. But most spies now use this as damage tanking tool and not to cheat death because it is way to obvious now when spy has used one to cheat death are at full health most of the time.

-stock weapons(aka the weapons that you have when you start the game) they write it down what they do.
-reskins:promotional items for other games. You can get them either easily(crafting it by a class token+slot token+a scrap metal),trading(if you have some depth in your pockets,because the tradable version is not cheap),buying irl merch(you'll get a little code if you buy irl merch from valve store or other item,if you do,you either get a rare item or a vitage/genuene quality of an already existing item) or very hardly(because it was either a pre order bonus or the game where you can get them is shut down it's services)
I dont blame him. Back in the day when set bonuses were a thing, the Saharran Spy set was digustingly good. The Ringer had a really quiet decloak and had a longer duration thanks to the Le'tranger and also back in those days, people were nowhere near as good so the Eternal Reward was actually pretty good in a pub. Unless you were communicating via a call or chat, you wouldnt even realize your med just got stabbed. Unless you have a working brain and were paying attention to the kill feed. A lot of weapons are actually really good... Unless the enemy team has functioning brains

my favorite loadout for spy is the saltiest loadout which is the Spycicle, Diamondback and deadringer

Diamond Back, stores one critical hits for each building you destroy by sapper or player you kill by backstabing, for that life only. Stored crits are lost on death.
I still don't see it used much outside of MvM, a bit strange though.

I always used the dead ringer to keep the intel in play when the other team is just sitting on it
alright changes the main ones are the ambassador and the dead ringer
the ambassador has a headshot cap of 1200 hammer units and is too small to be useful
the deadringer cannot be charged with ammo so you must wait 14 seconds between uses and is a pain to use
the diamindback is now the punching bag as it gives you crits for doing your job (sapping buildings and backstabbing enemies with a -15% damage penalty
enforcer finally works now though so thats good its not great but it functions at least
spycicle had a bug with disguising but thats fixed
Your Eternal Reward has a 20% cloak duration penalty and can disguise by using up a full cloak

you shoot for a few reasons
1. you are a gunspy someone who is playing to use your gun
2. its safer as 40 damage at base makes it a reliable weapon to kill
3. you are retreating and stabbing your be costly
4. they are using the razorback
5. you aim can be more concistent than TF2's buggy melee ht detection

That stunt was mostly just Gabe trying to lite a fire under valve employees' asses by putting a huge spotlight on them to get them to *ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING* which I doubt considering TF2 despite its impressive player count and earnings is considered 'uncool' among the higher ups at valve who are much more interested in jacking themselves off on yet another steam machine prototype (that totally won't fail this time) or some other ivory tower candyland bullshit like neural interfaces.

Spy is technically the worst class in the game only by virtue of how inconsistent the class is in practical application. People that hate spy more than any other class are either bad or are sniper mains that circle jerk on reddit
A good spy is always annoying to deal with but very few can single handedly shut down an entire server like other classes can and even those that are good enough at it to achieve this can't replicate that success as much as they would have you believe
I'm a heavy main at heart from a competitive standpoint (though I don't usually play TF2 with a competitive mindset or in a competitive setting) but if I could, I would take the next class update (when it happens in 3000 years) and give it to spy cuz frankly, he needs it the most
