Nice to see Mk1 Vito videos finally getting onto youtube. The alternator isn't a bad job to do. A joy that good old German engineering makes it easy to drop the half shaft out of the way easily. It is a brilliant engine though a bit difficult to work on in a transverse guise as it is really meant for rear wheel drive. Thanks for the video

Just replaced mine on a 2000 108CDI 611 (611980 engine). The new Bosh is marginally large than the old Bosh that came out. Just enough to necessitate removing the sway bar rods and having to unscrew the sway bar rubber mounts to make enough space to squeeze the new one in.

Hi.. Im in Jersey channel islands UK.. Been stuck here since January I'm from Devon.. But I've found an old vito 113 automatic petrol.. It's actually not bad for its age everywhere seems dry looks OK with of course rust but doable.. The guy who has is has a business and hasn't done anything to it.. In fact he dose not really care about it.. But I can bye it cheep.. I've gone under removed the belly engine dirt cover. I think the water pump gone.. Poored water in on top I went under and where the crankshaft shaft the wheels belt looks OK but the water was coming down around it I think is the water pump above it.. Or could it come from behind the crankshaft it self.. I normally take on stuff like this is its not to bad.. Any help would be good or idear.. I checked the oil it's really clear and like new.. Its only done 67 thousand on the clock.. Many thanks Paul
I just did it. Removed the 115 amp alternator like in the video. Had to force it a bit and unscrew the vertical bar that connects to the wheel shock absorber but it's now done. Just noticed now that the alternator I got to substitute the 115 amp one is a 90 amp... Wonder if it will run?

Does anyone out there happen to know what size those star-drive bolts are that hold the alternator in place?
There isnt not enough room to remove the alternator like this on most of the models with the higher AMP alternator.
