Hi Matt, I'm from Hungary and I've never heard about The Designers Republic, so thanks for to introduce them. My biggest inspiration from that era is David Carson and his 'breaking the rules' work method or mentality. There is a trend nowdays the 'anti-design' this kind of approach echo his works.
I've been finding that the use of type in the modern setting of apps and websites is or has become so plain in recent times I think to look back at what Paula and others did during the 70's, 80's and 90's brings that breath of fresh air that young designers should look at to refresh how we communicate with the world .... bloody great series
