when he got personal it really hit different, as someone who stumbled into the vtuber rabbithole when i reached a really low and lonely point in my life, shien and the other holostars really helped me pick myself back up and face my struggles head on. ive grown so attached to shien especially because he was the first holostars member i watched. when he said "you're not alone" i literally started bawling bc thats really the words i needed to hear before i found holostars. i dont regret finding him and supporting him with any spare change i can find whenever i can. he and the other boys work so hard and it doesnt go unnoticed. cant wait to see where this journey takes all of us together 💜

And even though it’s through the internet and I don’t understand much Japanese, holostars and other Vtubers seem to comfort me. I've been jumping around streams across the holostars since december when I fell into the vtuber rabbit hole, and to be honest I felt that Shien was one of the wholesome goofballs I've came across. Honestly I felt really bad throughout the whole stream because I can't join the membership (being a college student sucks), but I wanted to be there as a supporter of Boss so it was quite a dilemma XD. I really hope that he would continue to be a vtuber in years to come, because someday I would like to pay back for what he have given us!!!
Boss is just so precious and wholesome, he is really one of my favorite too (well I really love all Holostars though, but some of them have a slightly more special place in my heart) I'm really sad that membership and SC are not availlable in my country but I know that I can at least still support them with all my heart ^^

I kinda don’t blame holostars in this regard because comparing them to their sister branches, Hololive(JP, ID, and EN), they are small and don’t have the subscriber fan base to confidently do big things like memberships. Thankfully, they are steadily gaining popularity, but it’s still an uphill battle for them.

He talked about it on his last APEX stream yesterday, and how he wasn’t sure the benefits to membership outweighed the negatives. It was actually really sweet, since he didn’t want those who didn’t or couldn’t become a member to feel like they didn’t belong, or were less than those who didn’t.* I think he’ll end up opening membership eventually, but being thoughtful about this kind of stuff isn’t a bad thing.
