Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

The Wanderer should be next!
The Wanderer will do the same for ya. it's one of his other great hits
This is what we grew up on, happy music, not dark and violent.
Runaround Sue not dark at all..lol😂
A happy, happy song about a dirty, heartbreaking sl*t.
It's not .@@AnonymousServant513
Del-Vikings Come Go With Me is a must-listen!!
And Whispering Bells!
dion dimucci - is a phenom and is still with us at 84.
Dion is still recording new material at 84 yrs old. His voice is still strong. So much more Dion for you to discover. Have fun!
Ah yeah, Bronx in Blue was an awesome album that's relatively new. He really shows just how much of an elite class talent he is on his rendition of Crossroads.
His best doo wop song was with the Belmonts, called 'I wonder why?'
And their biggest hit "A Teenager In Love"❤
Love Dion. Also The Platters, Paul Anka, Bobby Darrin, etc. All so good. Still think the 50's and 60's have the best music. No auto tune and all of that crap. Just good music.
I was 15 when this came out in 1961. Loved it then, love it now.
Bobby Darin :
1. Beyond The Sea
2. Dream Lover
3. Splish Splash
My favorite Bobby Darin song is
Mack The Knife. but you’ve already done that one!!!
I love Splish Splash!!
Shawn, please go there next!! It is so much fun!
Mack the Knife!!
😊Yesss....more Dion. Great reaction on Abraham, Martin and John btw. On this big hit of Dion's..just a fabulous party type tune and lighting is beautiful...color's great. Fantastic pick Shawn...👍👍🎤
First heard this as a 13 year old in 1961, and it knocked my socks off. Still does. And you're right, Shawn--this tune deserves to be near the top of the greatest hits list. Put "The Wanderer" up there, too.
I was 13 too!
Love this song, takes me back to summers on the farm! Love your lights, they do just what you want. Frankie Avalon, Paul Anka, Gene Pitney, and Neil Sedaka are artists from the time with a similar vibe. Great pick and reaction. Blessings all.
Dion had a great and cool Bronx, New York accent and style in his singing in the early 60's and he had a bunch of greaser classics then. The Wanderer is another great song with cool lyrics that you should do next. Then there's Lover's Who Wander, Donna The Prima Donna, Love Came To Me, Ruby Baby and Little Diane that's great that I think you should react to at least a few of sometime.
My dad grew up in the 50s and Dion was one of his favorites. I grew up listening to my parents play these great songs. As a kid I didn’t appreciate them, but now in my 50s, I love all of these old songs, in addition to the great 70s and 80s music I grew up on. ❤❤
His song "Donna the Primadona" has the same tempo about a girl who wants "to be just like Zaza Gabor".
Dion and his friends as teens, sang on street corners, one street was Belmont Ave in the Bronx.
Love Dion. Boy from the Bronx. His music brings back such great memories ❤
Brenda Lee - "Sweet Nothin's"
It was my favorite song when I was in the 6th grade! LOL! Quarter to Three was a great song by Gary U.S. Bonds. Another great Dion song was Abraham, Martin and John in 1968 after MLK Jr and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated.
This song was very popular, Dion was a new guy on the radio. I told you Shawn, them 60’s songs are all super great! 💙💙
I remember singing this with my sisters walking around sitting on the porch singing away I was about 10 years old Brings back great memories
Don't forget Bobby Rydell - "Kissin' Time", "Volare", "Forget Him", "Wild One", "We Got Love", "Sway", "Wildwood Days". and more...
So many great Dion songs!! I got to meet him in Vegas when I saw him in concert. Very kind man! One of the highlights of my life.
Love Dion, by himself or with the Belmont’s. One incredible song from back in the day was Cara Mia by Jay & The Americans. If you want someone who can hit those high notes, it is Jay Black
Ahh Shawn you summed it up for me perfectly.."perfection..i love the way he sings that" timeless super happy tune but with a warning guys!. I grew up in the 80s and the music was fun with great clothes and a certain look but for me the 50s and 60s must of been so so exciting and original. The sound, the look, the songs. So many great tunes. Such a cultural change so innovative that is still being felt today and probably in years to come. Thanks. Super reaction
Dion just turned 85 ,the other day, still great
Dion had such a great voice. In the Italian tradition. Your new lighting is actually retro. All you need now is a couple of black light posters and you'd be back in the 60's. I highly approve
A never Bronx sound from white plains road a lot of groups from that place like starz great live group
I love your reaction, and I love your blue background! It IS a perfect song! ✌️🎶
I hope I worked out the lighting to have more blue background and less blue me lol
@@ShawnSalvadori 🤣
Over the last 3 or 4 years Dion has put out 3 Blues Albums. He's 84 years old and still making music.
Damn. First Santo and Johnny then Dion. A whole bunch of Brooklyn boys from my native home. Try The Tokens doing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", The Jive Five doing "My True Story", Neil Sedeka doing "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", and Little Anthony and The Imperials doing "Hurt So Bad" for more Brooklyn based early rock hits.
You really hitting right near my neighborhood, Shawn! Thank you!
Check out "King of the New York Streets, which is Dion 28 years after "Runaround Sue" still rockin' and his voice us even better. "Ruby Baby" is also a great Dion song.
Nice reaction. Deon was a classic shooting star as he was banging heroin at this time. He would not get clean till 1968. You should check out some of his stuff from the last 5 years. he has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Mark Knofler, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, Sonny Landruth, Boz Scaggs, Billy Gibbons, Susan Tedeschi. I mean the list is long and he sounds great.
In the 50's, the crooners started to be pushed aside by the rockers. Elvis could do both styles of music, so he had wide appeal. And, after a little bit of crooning in the introduction to this one, Dion shows he can also switch to rocking with the best of them. Great reaction!
Dion was on the tragic Winter Dance Party tour with Buddy Holly. Buddy offered Dion a seat on the plane that crashed. Dion’s cost would be 38$. That is how much Dion’s parents rent was for a month, so he didn’t feel right spending that much for a 1 hr plane ride.!…….The night b4 the crash, the tour played in Duluth Mn. A teenage Robert Zimmerman aka future Bob Dylan, attended. Dylan said at one point he and Holly locked eyes, and he felt a strong connection to Holy. Dylan still on occasion will put a Holly song in his shows.
"The Wanderer" please...
I like the setup. That's my favorite color. 😊 What a great song.
Luv it! Here's a few more 😊
*Summertime Blues
*Blueberry Hill
*Everyday
*All Shook Up
*Don't Be Cruel
*Get a Job.....
The ironic thing is how his other song, The Wanderer, is about a guy doing everything Sue does, but poor little baby boy Wanderer only likes it when he does it!!!
Thank-you... I'm glad others have noticed that too!!
@@brigidsingleton1596 ahh, finally, someone who gets it!!
@@evanhughes1510 where does it say Sue does? She simply loves them and leaves them.
@evanhughes1510 I understand that is how you see it. Although I disagree with her being untruthful with him, I find him to have an unacceptable double standard with whining, I respect your view. After all his biggest complaint is Sue goes out with other guys.
@@evanhughes1510
Hearts can still be broken by such behaviours... "What's sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander" as we say here.
His blues album is EXTREMELY good. Has a lot of really good guitar players including a guy named Eric Clapton and many others. BEAUTIFUL STUFF
Fun songs back then! I love it. Great memories. Peace and Love from Canada. ❤
When I finally saw the alert for this I got excited. I KNEW you would be loving it! Yes, please do more Dion! “The Wanderer” .. A teenager in love” .. Also I really like the new lighting!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😀
* The Wanderer ... _not_ "The Wonderer".
Which gives the man the right to wander from girlfriend to girlfriend, but with
'Runaround Sue' the _girl_ is seen to be a "bad sort" compared to the young man who is just "sowing his oats". Totally unfair but both great songs to jig around to!!
Thanks! 🙂 I fixed my typo. You’re right, that can change the meaning! 🙂

Thank-you for that response. 🙂🏴♥️🇬🇧😊🖖
Dion is still putting good music out, he has hits from at least 5 decades, i think his biggest hit was Abraham Martim And John, about all the great people we lost in the 60s, you will enjoy this rabbit hole.
1st. Solid pik Shawn. Ty ☘️🇺🇲
Hey Shawn, another great male vocalist (from the same era) was Del Shannon. His song "KELLY" is superb Do-wop.
Thanks 👍
FIRE!!!!! This song STILL makes me feel all the same feelings you felt while listening!!!! WOO WOO! You and your wife need to learn the dance, the jitterbug, this song and others like it, are meant to jitterbug to!
First saw him live in 1962, he did this and several other hits in a concert at a large amusement park in Massachusetts (Pleasure Island). I was 14 and went with a small group of friends, one of who was sixteen and had a car, though we probably would have hitchhiked if he wasn't available, it was only about 8 miles away. Great memories.
❤Dion
You can't go wrong with the 60's and the 70's you need to listen to more music in that time period.
✨I loved your reaction to Dion's song!! "Dream Lover" is a nice song by Dion. Ernie Maresca, (who wrote for Dion), had a hit, "Shout Shout (Knock Yourself Out)". Quarter to Three is one of my favorite Gary U.S. Bonds songs. The lighting is nice!! 💙
Dream Lover is by Bobby Darin! 🤔
th-cam.com/video/H0hgpiXHOeY/w-d-xo.html 😊I guess Dion did the song as well (?)
A whole bunch of folks have done a version of Dion’s Abraham, Martin and John you should find interesting. I love it so I’ve tried to sing it over the years. I always cry when I get to the part about Bobby. Sorry: Spoiler Alert.
Love Dion's Abraham, Martin, and John. It always brings tears to my eyes, too.
Leif Garett is worth checking out. He had a few popular covers, a teen heart-throb of the day along with Shaun and Michael Cassidy (Partridge Family).
David Cassidy
The Lion Sleeps Tonight The Tokens
Favorite music to listen to in the 70's when I was in High Schoo!
💜💜💜 I like the "purple" lighting.
Wish i would have taken his words to heart......
You should listen to the four seasons, Sherri baby, big girls don't cry, walk like a man, Dawn (go away), ragdoll. So many more
❤The light looks groovy ! Also, this song was in my favorite movies, Sleeping with the Enemy (with Julia Roberts). Thanks Shawn !😊
Love this sound! Btw…really dig the new lighting.
Love me some doo-wop!
Me too!
Great song, great reaction! As mentioned before, The Wanderer should be your next one by Dion. Like the Browning cap! Thanks, and God bless you!
Love the sixties had 4 older brothers 3 in bands and a disc jockey they played alot of places in New England fabulous era nothing can replace that era..Great reaction had fun watching you ..check out del Shannon run away and little town flirt..keep spreading the music around ❤️
Teenager in Love - Dion and the Belmonts
Try "The Wanderer" and the sequel "Lovers Who Wander" from Dion, both classics.
My grammy was in love with this guy.
ADORABLE!
He's great. "The Wanderer" is great so is "Dream Lover" worth listening to.
Hey Shawn I think you liked this one!!😂💕
😀
The Wanderer was great!
Dion sang another classic, maybe even a better song, where HE is the runaround called The Wanderer...has a little more "rock" to it
Lighting is awesome!
BANGER!!! Love this song and the background lighting!!
I like the new lighting.
BANGER! This was dance music!
Drinking 🎶 Song -
Margate NJ, every time song got played we got five beers for a buck
Such a vibe!! At the least, your toes will be tapping! And I ❤ the background!
Needed some good doo-wop to end my night! Thanks!
The lighting is almost as cool as Dion
Thanks for another great reaction!
Dancin' music!
My tween self listening on my little plastic radio lol!
It’s just as good when he performs it live
this song earned me my first speeding ticket at age 16 ...... but, Dion taught me a valuable lesson, (or two) I guess
Five o'clock World - The Vogues
Dion has newer albums. All blues. They’re great. But of course, love his old stuff Feel good music!
❤❤❤ So fun !!!
Ha ha!!
Too many songs pick on Sue!!
Runaround Sue
Susie Q
Wake Up Little Susie
😂
Another great group are The Buckinghams…Kind Of A Drag! “ The Shirelles…Soldier Boy! “ Frankie Valli…Sherry Baby! “
The Wanderer!!!! Should be next. I agree with others.
In this interview with Jim Clash (www.forbes.com/sites/jimclash/2023/08/26/dion-dimucci-who-were-runaround-sue-and-the-wanderer/), Dion DiMucci talks about this song (and about the line people miss in "The Wanderer," which is the key to the whole song):
Clash: In doing my research, I've seen different accounts of who, “Runaround Sue” is in real life. Your wife is named Sue. On Oprah, she once said it was about her. Who is it really written about?
DiMucci: It’s all according to what day you get me on [laughs]. I like to have fun with people. Actually, it’s kind of a mixture. My wife would love to think it’s about her, because she thinks it would be great for her image. It really is about a girl who was kind of loose in the neighborhood. The word Sue just fit for the song - you couldn’t use Roberta, or Alice, or whatever.
I’m not going to mention who it’s really about, but between you and I, the girl called in to an interview show I was on about 20 years ago. She had married a rabbi, had six kids, and sounded wonderful! And I thought how good it was to hear from her, you know. Chalk it up to being young and foolish - a lot of young people are - but she turned out wonderful. But thank you for the song [laughs].
This doo wop riff was "borrowed" from Gary US Bonds classic Quarter to Three. Bonds had a slew of great songs and was given a second shot of fame during the '80s courtesy of The Boss.
Another classic "Doo-wop" song from either thee late 1950s or the early 60s. Whenever it was, it's a true classic.
Fvcking great song brother if you liked this you've gotta check out:
Ivory Joe Hunter - Since I Met You Baby - 1956
Clyde McPhatter - A Lovers Question - 1954
Elvis Presley - Don't Be Cruel - 1956
The 50s ROCKED start with these 3 in no particular order you won't be disappointed..
Agree 100%.
Dion was a big deal in the late 50s and the 60s. He went on to have a long solo career. Bro, you should really check out the song Midtown American Main Street Gang by him, it's a banger Rock song. Watch it on your own if you want, peace.
Willie Nelson just celebrated his 90th birthday. He must be doing something right 😎☮️💙👵🏼
Reminds me of julia roberts in sleeping with the enemy.
You should hear Abraham, Martin and John.
I wanna go to the hop.
Ruby is good, they're all good!
I think every guy has his own Sue😊
Every girl knows a "Wanderer" too...
