His run during this period is mixed to negative from what i remember. I was starting to watch TNA weekly in late 2011 up until the fall of 2012 and oh boy I forgot how bad that Clair Lynch angle was. fans seriously went out of their way to harrass the woman who played the character? That's pathetic. I'm still remembering when Hana Kimura got cyberbullied a couple of years ago but thank god it doesn't seem like it went that far. It was cool to see AJ get one more world title win before his departure, there was some good to great matches with guys like Bully, Daniels, Aries & the tag title match at Slammiversary X. Favorite moment was probably winning the tag titles with Angle, least favorite... as if I need to say what it is.
@@princeofstrongstyle6683 According to Daniels & Kazarian's shoot interview they had not long after their TNA release & before their ROH debut, she quit 1 week before the angle was gonna end anyways
AJ Styles is the greatest wrestler in TNA's history. His 2005-2009 run is his best run in TNA. He had some of the best matches in TNA's history during that run.
AJ's legacy most likely will be someone that no doubt is among the Mount Rushmore of the company's history. Alongside a few others, AJ is most likely the guy you mention first and the most when discussing the history of TNA. Winning every title, great matches, memorable feuds and so on. In short, one of the best in the world and The Phenomenal One for a reason.
AJ Styles used to be the hot sensation that TNA had to offer but when a bunch of former WWE guys came in and started getting those high profile spots, AJ Styles got shafted big time and he left TNA to achieve more glory in Japan and finally, in the WWE
I remember that conclusion to the Claire Lynch storyline and when the "lawyer" stated that this was orchestrated to blackmail AJ, all I could think to myself was, "What were Daniels and Kazarian going to get from this if the storyline saw a proper conclusion?"
The initial plan was gonna be a Maury Povich style "You are not the father" conclusion; that was until a lot of things were scrapped. And then the woman who played Claire Lynch quitting screwed things even more; so they went the eject button route of "it was all a ruse". Storyline wise what do they get from this; I guess it was all to get heat on them.
AJ was asked to take a 60% pay cut? Damn that's just as bad if not worse than when Jim Herd was gonna give flair a 50% pay cut back in 1991? It's eerily sounds similar (ironic since Flair was AJ's manager in 2010) cause both were top guys for their repsective promotions that soldiered through so much and did everything they were asked but to offer a new contract with a major pay cut? Hell no. Like you said, AJ made the right choice and has done wonderfully for himself in the 8 years since.
It should've been AJ/Daniels/Joe at Destination X. It only made sense. They had the greatest match in TNA history at Unbreakable 2005, everytime they fought against each other, they tore the house down, so them having a match at the x-division ppv was a no-brainer.
1, What did you think of AJ's PPV matches quality wise in 2012, specifically Slammiversary, Destination X, Hardcore Justice, BFG and Final Resolution. 2. What did you think of the matches he had with Austin Aries during the Bound For Glory Series in 2013? 3. Did you watch AJ's matches with El Mesias and Seiya Sanada when he was world champion in 2013? If so what did you think of them? 4. How bad did it make TNA look for them to ask AJ Styles to take a pay cut, yet later sign Matt Hardy (who I like) to a high priced deal?
@@WeAreProWrestling I see. Well, you should at least check out the Mesias/Sanada matches, they were pretty good. I want to get your thoughts on something. I wouldn't take away his ROH return, his time in New Japan, and all his time in WWE. However, a small part of me would have liked to have seen AJ work with guys in TNA that came since he left. Guys like Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, Eli Drake, EC3, Pentagon and Fenix, Brian Cage, Moose, Josh Alexander, Lashley, Drew Galloway, Johnny Impact, and so many others. What do you think about this topic?
First thing I want to say is congratulations on your success; your one of the best wrestling channels here on TH-cam. Now, second I have five questions for you. 1. Do you still consider AJ Styles A TNA Guy ? 2. If Vince Mcmahon hasn't brought out his fater's company- Where do you see it going ? 3.Which group in your opinion is better: beautiful people or laycool ? 4. Do you think bully ray could have work in the wwf attitude era ? 5. If AWA was in good shape and could have competed against WWF and WCW; How would they fit in the monday night war era ?
Thanks 1. In a way yes; even though he hasn't been there in 9 years & has been in WWE for 6 1/2 years, he played such a huge role in TNA's history it's hard not to still think of him as a TNA guy 2. I'll just say the wrestling world as it is right now would be completely different 3. Beautiful People 4. Maybe 5. Hard to really tell; it all has to do with if Greg was willing to change with the times like WWF & WCW did
Ugh that Clair Lynch storyline. Oh god. I remember wondering what was up with Daniels and Kazarian. Cause it seemed like Daniels was blackmailing Kazarian at first and than all of a sudden he was with Daniels completely.
That Clair Lynch angle was so bad but God bless AJ styles for trying to make it work. Also during his last years with tna he had some good matches against Christopher Daniels along with a few other guys
Idk what’s worse AJ Styles as Wish/Walmart/Dollar Tree Ric Flair or the Claire Lynch angle I really applaud AJ for putting up with that BS that TNA booked him to do. AJ Styles is one of my favorite TNA wrestlers of all time and he’s in my MT Rushmore of TNA great wrestlers
Wonder if any chance of doing a video on AJ going from where this leaves off to him going to WWE. I know some stuff, like guess he was in NJPW and ROH, and I know he was in Bullet Club, but other than that, that's the part of AJ Styles career I'm not that familiar with. So, if you could please do a video on that? Thank you.
Unfortunately anything having to do with New Japan is on the back burner until Bushiroad & TV Asahi(Primary & Secondary owners of New Japan) become less strict when it comes to their stuff being used for content on TH-cam; as they have a track record of taking down stuff having to do with New Japan(Japan copyright laws are way different than US copyright laws; not just wrestling, but all media)
Ya know after Impact and WWE had their little deal to have Mickie James appear in the royal rumble with her Impact theme & the Impact KO title there should be another deal to where Impact could induct AJ into their hall of fame
questions 1. why would they do this claire lynch bullshit and also did this sort of dropped aj styles stock a little bit 2. what did you think of aj styles changed from phenomenal to being bullet club style sort of
1. AJ, Daniels, & Kaz thought of a story in order for Daniels & Kaz to get heat; though what we got was the stripped down version of that story 2. Needed a change to stay fresh
According to the Daniels & Kazarian shoot interview, them along with AJ created the rough draft idea for the angle; but because a ton of stuff got rejected, we ended up with the stripped down version of the angle(which was horrible)
The Claire Lynch storyline ruined AJ Styles for Me And The woman who played Claire Lynch Quit the company so what was the point of this Storyline in the first place this was a waste of time IMO
@@sampiboon3532 No it wasn't; it was some actress. Chelsea Green was Daniel Bryan's Physical Therapist in the Brie Bella/Stephanie McMahon feud in 2014.
