    Are a lot of these same principles from this R series interchangeable to a Y series smart multi?
    I.e. Th2 temps average, th3 average, putting into test mode for SC, etc…

      More or less, yes.

    The Shell Temp Thermistor didn’t exist until about late 2017/ 2018?
    I was part of Mitsubishi’s DSG and worked with Paul Messer to Field install/R&D these. It was FREAKING COLD! Some University in Northern Baltimore.

      Mhhmm! Not fun. I love keeping the old main boards for my house tho. They make good decorations😂 I've had to add the kits to several buildings they weren't done on.

    So many temperatures. Last year the outdoor unit made some weird gurgling sounds in certain cases this year no sounds but way less cooling than usual. Thinking low refrigerant will check for leaks. How to know how much freon to add - is there a target subcooling from Mitsubishi that we can focus on achieving or what would you optimize for when topping up refrigerant? (Don't have the total weight and would like to avoid evacuating everything.)

    • @VrfMadness
      @VrfMadness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best and most accurate way is to remove all refrigerant and weigh it. Then compare it to the total charge that the dsb states it needs!

    • @shortshorts4265
      @shortshorts4265 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VrfMadness Ok thanks for the reply and your content on Yt. At least then the total charge will be known to be correct. Was thinking to add a kg or two and watch the supply air temperatures getting lower.

    I have version 5.45 and I’m not seeing refrigerant circuit diagram under maintenance tool. Any idea?

    • @VrfMadness
      @VrfMadness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What gen units have you tried it on? Make sure it's enabled in mtool. Can't remember what it's under though, but I can check tomorrow

    • @melchorimperial1408

      Not sure what gen it is but the units are between 6-10 years old

    With LG there is a vacuum mode you can go into to make repairs and pull charge, is there anything like that for mitsubishi?

    • @VrfMadness
      @VrfMadness  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. Just turn power off and you can vacuum and recover.

    • @googleuser846
      @googleuser846 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have a vrf Mitsubishi with a branch box. Cycle power off at ic and oc . At the branch box switch sw4-7 ON. Wait 2 min. Then put it back off. Then cycle branch box power off. All eevs will screw full open make vac and recharge faster

    Hi mate,,,nice video,,,what the best practice,,,to change the inverter compressor ? Close the both valve all the way in front seat and reclaim the gas from the condenser ? What you recommend you opinion please thanks ,,,

    • @VrfMadness
      @VrfMadness  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I like close ball valves on the unit with failed compressor. Let the other unit somewhat maintain the building while I get the compressor out. The proper procedure is to pull the compressor and measure the oil and do an acid test. If it's acidic or you are low on oil, you MUST replace both compressors and both accumulators along with new oil.

    Discharge superheat is like X rays. You can see a lot with this number only.
