Time to raise a toast to our generous host
Jarisleif!
Jarisleif!
Ruler of the Rus from coast to coast
Jarisleif!
Jarisleif!
May beer flow as long as we can stand on two
All the pretty girls come keep us warm
Tonight we drink, no room for depressing thoughts
Fill your horns!
HEY! HEY!
HEY! HEY! JARISLEIF!!
RAH!
GO!
(Russian lyrics)
Vittu Saatana Perkele!
RAH!
(More Russian lyrics)
La La Lai...
LA LA LAI LA LAI...
HU!
LAAAAAAAAAAI!
HEY!
That's one of the best musical performances I've ever seen
The category should be "Antidepressants"
...Then, the last night turisas was on stage,I was there, and Mathias says something like: "get the cameras away, only for this song you going to get fucking crazy! this is IN THE COURT OF JARISLEIF!"... after that I cannot remember anything....
Most metal accordion ever
do you listen keelhauled? alestorm don't does bad.
fuck that song is energetic i feel like moshing every time i hear it
Folk metal at its best, the level of musicianship is impeccable. Im a power metal and prog metal guy, but this stuff is incredible. to mix metal, fusion time signatures, and the eastern european scales is amazing. last but not least to play complex music at nearly 200 BPM is truly musicianship not of this earth. TURISAS ROCKS!!!!!!!!
The opening melody alternates 5/8 and 6/8 (or, it is in 11/8 if you prefer), the people (sort of) clap in 3/4 or 4/4 which fits after a couple of repetitions.
Get this... Accordian, Netta Skog, was only 17years old at this time...
Wait...
Holy shit you're right
I guess she played herself then, when she played A minor
apparently her college teacher was almost speechless when she asked Netta what she'd done during the summer and she replied touring with a band called Turisas.
These players came from another world to teach us this incredible music.
Que Canción tan brutalmente genial!
I've seen this video so many times and just today I noticed Mathias snuck in a "vittu, saatana, perkele" at 2:32
Turisas and Dragonforce both were @ the same show in San Diego California a few months back. Was awesome. Turisas rocked dragonforce with vengeance
Feel, then speak about.
Both bands, Turisas and Korpiklaani are great
This is amazing!
3:25 - 4:17 His voice is AMAZING!
Oh, This is freaking awesome! I love the Turisas! I'm a new fan of their wonderful music! I would love to see them live in concert! 5/5 stars!
Netta always looks so happy :D
Me pone alegre ver este video xD Tanto baile y musica de calidad
This is true, if you listen closely, you can hear Tude's bass drum going at about 4/4, I think the crowd is most following along with the bass drum.
yeah paganfest usa is where i first saw them along with tyr, eluveitie and ensiferum. i also saw them with dragonforce. turisas puts on a really good show.
It's a folk song called "dark eyes", I really wish they recorded it, they do the same thing at the beginning of sahti warri, except it's just Netta and Olli jamming out some polka music.
Lay Lay Lay !!!!! \m/
@emilsaric Absolutno.
Pozdrav iz Svedske
On guitar... The Metal Slug POW!
@VacuumSpaceKing you're blessed with some awesome homework man ;)

@OpenEyeVisuals i didnt noticed that..now i did...and i ROFLD

@thpaquet Heh, that's one sick band indeed, but what he actually called was "menee" which is Finnish for 'here it goes'.
@OpenEyeVisuals genious
JARISLEIF! JARISLEIF!
good is the perfect music gooooood
that last part ruled!! why isnt that in the studio recording?!!! lol
that's fucking AWESOME
@EdwinMarc Not just macedonian. That sort of "turbo-folk", as it's commonly known, is popular all over balkan. Your knowledge of balkan is impressive. Unless, of course, you are from balkan
@naifgobory well, Turisas isn't the most guitar-central band :P
Oh, You are so lucky! I have always wanted to go to an Folk Metal concert. XD Do they come to America as well or just other countries? I wanted to see Korpiklaani but they were in California. *Cries*
@EdwinMarc Actualy what most poeple consider to be south slavic music is mix of romani, turkish and greek traditional music
Onko tämä se tankerous love jos tykkää Turisaksesta ja Korpiklaanista.
Haha this is amazing :D
OMG epic
MASSENPOGOOOOOOOOO!!!!
ooh that was a year ago, good old high school times :p
Hahaha didnt notice it before now xD!
I must mention that the vocalist looks a lot like Kevin Sorbo in that bloody masquerade:)
It's not really by anyone, as far as I know, it's just a traditional folk song.
DAVAAAAAAIIIII
Whats the name od the song after Jarsleif? Or is it just something they played off on?
its a rendition of a Russian Romance called Dark Eyes/Black Eyes
hahaha the guys dancing in 4:38 xD
TOMORROW I WILL SING, LARARALALALARALALALAI XD
@emilsaric It's still a russian song, and russians are not from Balkan. And by the way, i'm from Bosnia
is he playing it on a Lira?!
Nice shit.
@emilsaric Gdje si ti ucio svedski? Ili koristis Google Translator?
@EdwinMarc he's just kidding with him man... u think he's bullying him??
@emilsaric Jesi li skont'o kako se izgovara slovo u?
lmao i didn't even notice that! but yeah i really don't know
Funny, I thought all Finnish people hated Russians. This band seems very cool, I'll look more into them.
There is a significant difference between the old Rus' and todays russians.
@EdwinMarc Actualy it sounds slavic
@emilsaric U predgradju Malmö-a
this sounds so balkan!
4:51 que sexy su headbanger xddd hahahahahahah
@Tyrisas this
@chrdauph I know he ain't russian, he's finnish swede. And his accent doesn't sound balkan at all
The ending reminded me of Leonard Cohen a bit. :S
If they didn't wear full fur and leather armor it just wouldn't be the same.
i named my dog after Netta. Not even joking if you dont believe me watch some of my videos.
2:04 - 2:09 guitarist gets disorientated xD... like..where am i...dizzl
well he isn't actually Russian; maybe his accent makes him sound Balkan :)
may Odin bless the Finns! \m/
ha,ha, good song for bad times :-)....btw, accordionist Netta...love her...and her baby fat is gone :-))
who is that beutifull girls¿?¿¿
this song sounds like balkan ethno stuff.......
Pode cr3
that looks like an awesome moshpit
When I first read that, I didn't realise you meant cigarette...
