Almost twelve years since I discovered the manifold delights of Scottish Country Dancing (at St Columba's, Pont Street, London). So, why have I not seen this marvellous video before??

So lovely to watch. I danced with Stirlingshire Branch in the early 80s. Betty Geary I think was the teacher. Nancy Wightman was the secretary. I stayed with the Wightmans on Melville terrace.

Anybody can. It’s really easy. We used to do all these at school if it was too rainy to do PE outdoors.

We did these dances at school (Northumberland) but at more of a skipping pace than that sedate walking.
