  • @Watchingvideoslikeu
    @Watchingvideoslikeu ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Okc and the Spurs just showed all small market teams, when in doubt just tank. Okc could’ve forced it with Paul George and Westbrook but they made the right decision to just tank. Same with the Spurs why waste time with Demar Derozan and Murray they let Demar walk and Murray traded to where he wanted to go and proceeded to tank. Both are reaping the benefits of prudent decision making.

    • @WarrenPuffet

      @@pipohemm8726 Yeah but who anywhere guards Jokic if he has a slasher and shooters around him? Dude PREFERS not to score.
      The best D I've seen on Jokic when when the Lakers switched AD OFF OF HIM. Then AD cheated on his man and came in from the side to bother Jokic. And it did slow him. Great coaching. Of course, Aaron Gordon knocked down his shots, so it didn't work that well. But still, make it more complicated for them.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheDeven1000 I guess the question then is if OKC is going to make 'noise' in the playoffs, what would Chet's role and contribution be on defense? Especially if he's going to play off bigger guys from the opposing team? That he can be left on an island against smaller ball handlers at the perimeter? That he can play the drop well enough and use his wingspan to cut off the ball handler's attempt at the basket? Because its pretty apparent (outside of extreme injuries) which teams in the West are playoff bound. So the ability of a young OKC group to do well in the first round is coming down to match ups. Grizz fans learned when their team took on a Lakers group that just through via the play-in and thought it was a 'good' match up. They didn't know their head was way up their asses too.

  • @joeldriver-sp2rg
    @joeldriver-sp2rg ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The core group of SGA, Jalen Williams (who has truly turned out to be an outstanding draft pick and is playing incredibly well), Giddy and Holmgren makes this team an actual threat now in the Western conference as a really tough out once the playoffs start. I think they've got a great chance to get up to a 4 seed and maybe make a run this year. They're really that good.

  • @charliebanks605
    @charliebanks605 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    OKC's ceiling is tied to Josh Giddy. They need this dude to shoot the 3 ball well. He's super talented and creates mismatches all the time because normally teams have their best defender on SGA. I don't believe Chet is gonna be a sniper from 3 so across the board the team needs more 3s and Giddy is the main one they need more out of.

    • @JimBob-jr5up
      @JimBob-jr5up ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Nah dude.
      You cant even measure this OKC team like that. Theres no singular ball handler or play runner. They all do it. Literally all of them. These guys will have 15 players, each one is a guard but at all positions and height.
      OKC ceiling considering talent and depth is immeasurable and not tied to 1 player at all, not even Chet or SGA.

    • @charliebanks605
      @charliebanks605 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JimBob-jr5up my guy I'm well aware this OKC team is super talented and extremely deep with multi tool players. However the tool they don't have is above average 3 point shooting (north of 35%) on high volume. SGA's game will still grow but I don't see his inside out style morphing like that but Giddy's game is still evolving and being the main secondary ball handler the space for his off dribble 3 ball game to grow is there. If his bag gets a lil deeper OKC could be making a deep run.

    Man, I like what OKC's done, but I think Bill, Kevin, and most everyone here are underestimating who's in the West right now. Denver, Phoenix, GSW, LA for starters, so Bill has them ahead of one of those 4. But then there's the Kings, Grizzlies, Clippers, and Mavs. Even the Pelicans and Timberwolves could improve this year. I think they're a playoff team, but I'd have a hard time putting them higher than 6th or 7th rn. They had a decent year last season and were 10th with 40 wins.

    • @jdankerdake
      @jdankerdake ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A case for OKC finishing with a Top 5 seed in the West: They won 40 games last season without Chet, and finished only 5 games back of the 4th seed. Could Chet and another year of development make up the difference?
      GSW won 44 games last year and their core is a year older. Will 38-year old CP3 make that much of a difference? Both LAC and PHX have high injury risk and implosion potential - add in a lack of depth and mediocre defense for PHX. LeBron will be 39, AD is always an injury risk, and besides those two and Reaves - all of their other rotation players could score 20 in a night, and they also could be benched in a playoff series.
      The Kings and Grizzlies could improve. The Mavs have to improve because they were tanking at the end of last season. I think OKC is better than MIN and the Pels go as Zion's availability goes.
      I'm not saying a Top 5 finish will happen, but it's possible. Unless Denver comes out motivated, I don't see any 60+ win juggernauts in the regular season. The standings should be tightly packed in the West.

    12:31 - I say bring back Steven Adams , a vet that would keep moral high, strong AF, and good defensive player.
    May still need to find a role player; a 6’11” to 7’ 280lb Jokic/Giannis/Embiid playoff stopper. Who’s only job during regular season is to bulk-up and strength and conditioning training while watching his competitions highlights 😂.

    The scary thing about OKC is that mid season when Miami realizes that it's time to rebuild, the Thunder could trade Dort, Bertans, and throw in some of their picks to get Jimmy Butler. Then they could trade Oladipo and a pick or two to Portland to pick up Robert Williams and their defensive problems disappear. Those trades and adding those 2 guys to the roster would make the Thunder Legit, with a ton of young talent still.

      @@supremesaaam1168 Oh I don't think it's happening. I'm just saying that it would make sense for everyone involved. Miami isn't going to rebuild mid season. I do think that the Robert WIlliams deal is plausible and would greatly help OKC. Portland is trying to stock pile picks, Bertans has a disposable 1 year contract, and OKC has the picks. Even just adding WIlliams to their roster would help them greatly.
      IMO, it's time for OKC to do something to cash in on those picks. SGA isn't going to be happy being an all NBA first team player on a team whose ceiling is the 6th seed in the west. If they don't pull of something soon and SGA demands a trade, they will be stuck with a team full of mid lottery picks year after year, hoping that they get a number one pick, and hoping that at least one of those guys turns into something close to SGA.

    • @DANIEL-up8ws
      @DANIEL-up8ws ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah that's not a risk imo, SGA is very happen with the team and progress. Current ceiling is way better than the 6th seed too. Also even without Sga this team would be solid and compete night in and night out. Giddey, JDub, and Micic(prepare to be shocked how good he is right away) can all run the offense and they even do certain things better than SGA. Maybe next year they will make a big trade, but not now before they have seen a full season of Chet. Plus they need to gauge how much better Giddey, Jdub, and Dieng etc. have gotten. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if they end up trading a lot of those picks for future picks wayyy down the line, and just let the promising young guys they have keep developing. They are in a position to stay competitive for a ridic long time if they don't screw this up lol. But obv you want to win and not just be competitive. Anyways...we shall see eh @@Davivd2
